youre at least asking the right questions. The answer is given by listening to the sheer dogshit they call 'music' nowadays which is a reflection of our society's downward fucking spiral into cesspool of horsecrap. Most of the music nowadays is not much more than softporn and songs about gagstahs bangin bitches up their souless ass.
Didnt know him......But i love this title.....And if my brother would play this on my funeral......oh would love him more then i do now....if i could know.....sorry for this bad english :) !
I was thinking along those same ideas; a funeral or memorial is a good choice. I liked this tune when it first came out (the Animals version) way back in the sixties. The tune and the theme seems to go back much farther but the Animals version caught the attention of many millions of listeners. It sounds just as good today as it sounded more than 50 years ago.
Good on you... Music at a funeral is usualy played from the point of view of the living while it should be a last message from the departed.... At mine, I hope they play Money for Nothing and Highway to Hell
IS the keyboard track on a loop? Because it doesn't look like his hands are matching the music. OR am I completely wrong? (very possible, my music training stopped with 4th grade recorder)
*organ.... but yeah definitely. and by the way John the whole video is a little off. Just watch the singer hes ahead of the music. That's old tech for you though
This is one of the most American-sounding songs ever recorded, in my opinion, so I was quite surprised to learn that House of the Rising Sun originated in England. Based on an old English folk song about a pub, apparently.
I just read that the song has been around since the 18th century. They changed it up a bit and redid the melody but the song itself is way older than the animals.
@@farmsgrace341 It's been recorded many times by a lot of different singers, including Joan Baez, Ronnie Gilbert (The Weavers,)Woody Guthrie, Jimi Hendrix, Nina Simone, Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton and Haley Reinhart to name just a few of them.

I am 64 years old and this one of my favorite songs. They don't do them like this anymore.
Me to same age love the song and the wild times I've had
Wow i hope in another 35 years i will be saying this about my 90's Hip Hop
@@FreddyKingz36 God, I hope not. No one worth a damn from my age group admits to disco.
I'm 66 feel the same
@@suicidaleuphoria7012 people don't "play" music anymore, they "sample" it...
Dude had such a great voice
I'm 71 and wishing we still had real music like this in 2019.
Maybe 'king krule', 'trudy and the romance' and 'cosmo pyke' change your idea, sir.
I know. Crap today.
I'm only a kid and I like Nirvana, animals, arctic monkeys, Radiohead , rolling stones all those now there shit songs nowadays
Why can't music be this cool anymore? It's layered, unique, and has an awesome rhythm that just gets deep down in your soul.
maybe you just haven’t found the right music? there are bands that sound like this i’m sure
This music has always been cool
It's still cool. Songs like this are cool. No distinction between verses and chorus, chord wise. Like hit the road Jack, and a few more.
youre at least asking the right questions. The answer is given by listening to the sheer dogshit they call 'music' nowadays which is a reflection of our society's downward fucking spiral into cesspool of horsecrap. Most of the music nowadays is not much more than softporn and songs about gagstahs bangin bitches up their souless ass.
This was my late brother Trevor’s favoured song he loved it we played it at his funeral rip trev
God rest your brother soul in peace.
my greetings from Oman
Good on you... Music at a funeral is usualy played from the point of view of the living while it should be a last message from the departed.... At mine, I hope they play Money for Nothing and Highway to Hell
Rip trevor
Слушал в 80-х, впервые. Вещь. Голос, музыка.... Они останутся навсегда.
Как держат себя, прекрасно, смотришь и не насмотришься
Gives me chills. Wish we still had music
Gives me chills as well
We still have music. It’s a new genre called ‘Asses and Heartbreak’
We still have music dipshit
A classic never to be forgotten while we oldies are still here!
Need to update to real oldies..... No Beatles just us ANIMALS
Dude on the keyboard is killing that shit, love it!!!!!!!!!!!
davisdunnit I miss out yrg yrs
He is !!!
Damn straight!
One of the best songs ever. Completely timeless.
This song will never grow old, it's still one of the best
This is one of the most American-sounding songs ever recorded, in my opinion, so I was quite surprised to learn that House of the Rising Sun originated in England. Based on an old English folk song about a pub, apparently.
The best rendition of this classic song, ever. I thought it was great when I first heard it in 1964 and still think so today.
So Damn True!!!!!!
this song will live forever
such a fantastic classic
Lyrics were already over 50 years old when the animals recorded it.
And recorded by several artists before The Animals, as well.
whole up
Я еще маленькой была, но услышав эту песню влюбилась в этот мотив и эту любовь пронесла всю жизнь и по сей день, а мне уже 65. 👏🔥😭
Song was way ahead of their time. Classic.
No it was the perfect time.❤
I just read that the song has been around since the 18th century.
This song still resonates.....it ALWAYS will. I agree with you.
Saw the band perform this song live in NYC at a rock concert escorted as a child by my very cool and dear grandpa. RIP Grandpa
That is so freaking cool! Sounds like a rare amazing memory, very lucky you are.
Rip i bet he was a good man i hope you're ok.

Think you'll find it's about a whore house and the dude has caught a dose of clap.
English sound engineers and musicians in the early 1960s were remarkably talented
Thank you, I didn't know
@@Saxondog It was changed to the whore house. The original concept was a pub.
Any link to that old English folk song ?

Happy birthday Eric! Spill the wine, take that girl.
There’s a sense of distance and insolation in this piece, it’s a tranquil subtle vibe which is haunting yet captivating at the same time.
I was thirteen when this song came out and I remember it like it was yesterday.
Боже, это чудо! Это вселенная. Я, хочу жить в этом. Невозможно слушать этот шедевр. Хочу, когда я умру была эта музыка.🥇💖🎉❤👏👏👏👏👏🎶💕🌹

My Grandmother used to play this and wake me uo in am on piano! She was so good early 80s! I would sit on piano bench next to her
...Eric Burdon and the Animals breathed soul into this song...THEY GAVE IT AN INDELIBLE TOUCH...sung in their image...they own it... others have attempted but none have been able to conjure up that spirit...they are imitations...
Аж мороз по коже, шедевр на все времена.
Estar en el teclado y no poder rascarse, pobrecito el tecladista.
The absolutely best rendition of "House of the Rising Sun" in my opinion.
Don't be so Humble.....Shout this!

In 1964 I was 10 years old, I remember listening to this song on the way to Palmdale California to go target shooting in the desert, my family had a tape recorder with a whole bunch of songs in it and this was one of them, it was kind of a long trip from Los Angeles to Palmdale but it was a lot of fun, have a great day my friend
That's amazing that you're almost eighty and on youtube. I doubt ill make it to that age but I'll try.
Sweet . I have been playing this song on guitar for decades. This is the first time I SAW them. I almost cried. History. Thank you for this video.
