Another quality vlog, well they all are really. I particularly like on your stills, the way you fade from colour to black & white and then back to colour, a really nice touch. Keep up the good work, best wishes to you both and the doggies.
Love that stretch of the Shroppie, it’s like being in a fairytale land! A local told us the Wrekin is an extinct volcano from years back! Loved the video! xx
We’ve met so many lovely people from all over the world who have hired boats for their taste of life on the canals. It’s a beautiful way to spend a holiday 😊
So beautiful and such good photography to go with it, a real pleasure to watch! I have to share a huge concern I have - it's so heartwarming to see all the birdlife on the canal, particularly the herons, but I've been hearing grim stories of sewage being discharged into waterways in the UK and recently saw graphic evidence of this in a video made by fellow narrowboat youtuber Narrowboat Will ("filfy fumbs up") on the Grand Union near Berkhamstead - all the fish in the pound dead. How disturbing, one wonders what the knock-on effects are for the ducks and the herons etc. Quite distressing.
Thank you for your lovely words of praise. We love that we can take you along on our travels. There is so much wildlife that makes it’s home along the canal network it is worrying when you see their lives being affected 😞
I love the farm animals i could never think of eating them, Dear dog lovely dog love animals love the views and wildlife. What a dear soul your dog is bless him lots, Great video bless you both for this, i from Hastings East Sussex. Its great watching all you boat people amazing.
Hello u 2, amazing couple, its me again since your crick footage vlogs, that were awesome by the way! Im so grateful and you shared this vlog, as its personal to me, as i have family in market drayton. And my the views are amazing, you know a different view from travelling by train! I love yur vlog footage and your black in white stills are truly beautiful. Please keep up yur ammazing vlogs, yur style is important is of yur own chacter and making. Well my hubbie & i have got that boat life bug, wanna take early retirement soon, and who knws whers our destiny, or dreams lie? Maybe next yr, us novices, may jump ship, pardon the pun ha ha, so not ships pass, but r boats may pass, and golly i cant wait to hug u both, just to say thankyou for yur amazing vlogs, sending u both many hugs luv debs xxxxx
Thank you so much Debs. What a wonderful comment to wake up to this morning! We are are so glad you love watching the vlogs as we enjoy making them. It is a very different view from the canal for sure. Such a beautiful green corridor on this stretch of the canal in particular. Happy we can take you along for the ride 😊
Lovely video - I agree - lovely canal. Love the tall bridges. As always prayers for the puppies / family and you. Thank you - dodged tornadoes yesterday here. One warning up near Monroe, Wisconsin and a few in toward Chicagoland. Take care.
@@onedaymoreaboard We had it though ok. I pay for a radar app and data service. It's up to the minute radar. No slowed down as the free ones. So get lots of texts and calls from people asking for updates. You think I storm spot / chase. (I do for NWS and my county)
We have been home for a week so returned the boat to Swanley Bridge Marina we have been down on the River Weaver. Next trip is back down the Shroppie then down onto the River Severn then onto the River Avon. We were getting confused 😕 you were crusing down the Shroppie then you appeared in Braunston with Paul and Anthony 😃
Aaaaww the Wrekin, many happy memories there 😊 ledged has it made by an angry giant,.upset by the people of Shrewsbury😮 the earth from his shovel made the hill and the dip between the two mounds is his footprint 👣 love local legends ❤ such a peaceful cruise, great vlog 😊
Wow that those locks you have to open before closing the other, hard if your a loan boater but what a beautiful canal that is, the bridges are amazing. Lovely relaxing Vlog as always, thanks so much ❤️❤️❤️
I love your videos. I’m a photographer and the additions of the black and white frame grabs are great. You sold your house to live on a boat, we sold our house and live in an RV. Maybe a narrow boat someday! 👍📸😉
That’s lovely to hear Scott! That’s exactly how we explained our new life to our American friends in Texas, RV life on water without the traffic jams! It’s a wonderful way to explore and we can highly recommend it! Happy travels 😊
Learned a few things from your videos today - Nicholson Guides and Picadilly Circus. I looked into the Nicholson Guide and ordered right away. A bit spendy with a 9 pound shipping charge. You were queued at a lock behind seven narrowboats and you said it was a "regular Picadilly Circus." I had to research this a bit. I think I understand this colloquialism "a crowded mess of people, vehicles, shops and noise." Times Square for Yanks.
That’s exactly Piccadilly Circus! Your Nicholsons Guide is definitely worth the money. We sometimes used bookdepository.com when we lived overseas. They have free shipping and it sometimes came out cheaper overall even if the book was a little more expensive than other suppliers. You can now get down to planning. That’s part of the fun. You will have a wonderful time 😊
Another great video, thanks. Often wondered how do you cope with GP VET and MAIL services when you travel so far around the country? Love to the Westies.
Thanks so much! We have opted for paper free/email wherever possible, and are registered at a GP near my parents, and also have our regular vet in their town too, but have visited vets in other locations as necessary. So far we haven’t encountered any problems. Most delivery services, including Amazon will deliver to all sorts of delivery locations and drop off points 😊
It really is such a beautiful canal with all those stunning bridges. It’s been lovely editing the footage and experiencing it all over again. Glad you enjoyed it 😊
This looked so relaxing. Not looking forward to ever having to do those locks single handed though 🤦♂️. High bridge is the bridge I had in mind last week when you mentioned your favourite. It’s a tough call between that and telegraph bridge. Take care x
I so enjoyed cruising along with you. I’m watching as I sit by a window with a wonderful summer breeze coming in through the screen, as I do a bit of embroidery, here in Cleveland, OH. I have a question….. watching you hustle towards a lock to get it closed, what happens if someone is boating solo? Who opens and closes the locks?
That’s so lovely to hear that you are enjoying the cruise with us and we can show you some of the beautiful scenery in the UK! Solo boaters will tie their boat at the lock landing. Then go and set the lock and open the gates, then go back to their boat and steer it into the lock. Then climb up the lock ladder, tie the boat, close the lock gates and fill or empty the lock, open the gates, climb back to their boat and cruise out of the lock, tie their boat up, and go back and close the lock gates. A very long process, so you can understand when we see solo boaters we always want to give them a hand to get through the locks 😊
Do you know what happens to the abandoned or derelict boats that you pass? Are they ever removed by CRT or similar or are they left to gradually rust or rot away?
No, we don't have to move every day. Moorings are 14 days unless they are signed otherwise, typically 48 hours in cities and towns, and more popular areas. We stay until we feel like moving on, or we need to move to get water or empty our toilet cassettes! Thanks for watching 😊
Wonderful 👍 one of our favorite stretches of canal and ofcourse the wonderful Anchor inn shame you didn't stop by as its all original 👌
We wished we had stopped too! Next time …… It’s such a beautiful stretch ❤️

Thank you for your kind words. I love playing around with the shots when editing and it’s lovely when people agree with my choices 😊
Just perfect, James and I love the black & white so well done, many thank you’s, your dog are so well behaved 🙏✝️🙏🇨🇦
Thank you so much They are well behaved most of the time, except when they feel like they need a little adventure of their own 😂
What a lovely relaxing cruise that was, thank you! 🥰
Glad you enjoyed it. It was such a beautiful stretch 😊
What a lovely cruise, I love the black & white shots. So peaceful and quiet. Have a safe journey, till next time!
Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Black and white shots are lovely.

😂 That explains it 😊
Such a pleasure watching the video. Beautiful scenery. Best wishes to you both. Steve

Sometimes they are removed but it’s a lengthy notification process apparently before they are allowed to be moved 😞
@@onedaymoreaboard thanks for that. I would imagine that it's quite a job. Many of them look like they're being absorbed into the bank!
