My husband and I are 71 years old and live in Texas. We truly enjoy your videos and you both are a breath of fresh air. We are proud you have accomplished what you have and are on the "slow path" of life - you will have a wonderful life together and hopefully when you start raising children you will teach them as much of what you've learned of life's experiences as you can. We were children of the 60's and I cannot help but think of that when we watch you. Stay the course, continue being self sufficient. May God bless you and your families.
I don't why, but the very bit at the end almost made me cry. I haven't been with you the whole 2 years, but I did watch all of your episodes. Out of all those episodes, the one moment that has stuck in my mind was literally a moment. It was when you showed a shadow of the two of you walking holding hands for a few seconds. I don't even remember which episode it was, but it struck me as such a pure and sweet moment that I haven't forgotten it. What I like about your videos is of course the adventure of it all, the beautiful, idyllic and peaceful nature of it, but the real attraction is you two. Your personalities are so perfect for this type of thing. You're not fake or plasticky. And of course Alan. It just comes across as something out of a fairy tale or adventure book, like Bilbo setting off from the Shire to see the world. I'm glad you guys like what you're doing, as it means there will be more videos!
Congratulations to you both! 2 of the loveliest, most creative, interesting people on UA-cam . I hope for 50 more peaceful floaty wonderful years for you! X
Congratulations on surviving two years on the canals! One thing about living in such a small space is that it will highlight any issues with a relationship. You guys are so lovely and seem very happy together so that’s a huge achievement for you both. I’m sure Alan’s highlight is being able to spend so much time with you both. Just what a happy cat wants! 😊
Ben and Emily are easily my two favorite people on the internet ! I hope they don't get tired of making their vlogs. I could happily watch them do whatever the day brings. ( also love Alan's voice)
I've said it before but you two are so watchable.I like nettle tea.Get them in the morning before sunrise,so good and look at the benefits of dandelion as well.
You both seem genuine human beings and pretty much down to earth… as I’ve said on a previous video I’m now on my 23 year as a single handed live aboard so can sympathise with many good and not so good times you’ve had. I look forward each week to see where you are and what you’ve been up to, all the best for now and stay safe… Andrew
My tortoise shell calico usually slept at my feet, but if my knee hurt, she slept there, and then it felt better. One time I had a horrible headache and she laid on the top of my head! Then my head felt better. I called her my "medicinal cat"! The same thing happened lots of times, and usually it stopped the problem.
Congratulations! You two seem so much more at ease and comfortable in front of the camera now as when you started your channel. Alan has always seemed quite the professional. Love watching your journey, and I'm certain your mums and dads are very, very proud.
I’m one of those who speeds about on the Solent, but love getting to have a glimpse into the pleasure (and pain) of life on the water in a narrow boat you guys let us have a glimpse of. Keep doing what you do and letting us share in it.
Watching you both is one of the highlights of my week. I look forward to the weekend and a new episode. It’s been great being able to share your adventure with you. If I was 50 yrs younger, I would be out there alongside you doing the same thing. I am able to participate somewhat via your channel. There are a couple of other narrow boat channels I watch but you two have a distinctive style which is refreshing and informative whilst being interesting. Please keep up the regular posts. Look forward to your journey to the Thames, a beautiful river to cruise.
Looks as if the speed that your channel is picking up new viewers, hasn't gone un-noticed in the commercial world. Companies seem to migrate your way on a weekly basis now, you must be doing something right. 😊
What a beautiful couple you are together, I just found you last week so am catching up on a lot of the past stuff. My hubby and I have been together since 1969 and we are both ancient now (75) but still feel as young as you two on the inside....
Alan is too funny! She always look annoyed, regardless of the situation. "Floating our boat" has several videos of gathering nettles - I've interacted with nettles myself with a negative impact. Love your reflections, and I must emphasize how wonderful it is to have Benny's music as the only music on the videos. I love Benny's reflection that "It has been hard and I think that that's part of growing". And finally, Your description of Hello Fresh is easily the most delightful description of that sponsor that I have seen!
Hello There Ben Emily and Alan , Hope you are All well , Great video and Congratulations , And 2 years on your floating Home ,How time flies when your Having fun afloat , and even Alan looks happy , so Thank you for sharing , Take care All , XX🛥🐈⬛🌞👍👍👍👍👍
Congratulations on two years on your boat. It’s been great following your adventures. Well done on 20K subscribers. Here’s to many more. Take care. Nick
Thanks for making this film. It's both instructive with the foraging, nettles, hawthorne, thinking about space and creativity, and delightful - Ben, Emily, Alan, movement through life.
I love that my Ben, Emily, Alan, and Alan's boat day, is now friday! Ben, I just received the Roland AIRA S-1, and for some reason I can imagine you getting a lot of use from one, yourself! ❤ Almost forgot! Yesterday, my mother found the engraving of the "Entrance to Regent's Canal Dock, Limehouse, London", printed in 1828, engraved by Frederick James Havell, originally painted by Thomas Shepherd. It's a very finely engraved piece, and an early printing, with high crispness of detail, and hand colored.
Wild herbs are very good for us. Growing wild they may more phytonutrients to cope with the changing conditions. They also are not bred just for max size as the veges in the supermarket are - which lose all kinds of nutrients. Can put nettles into smoothies or cook them in pasta. I make a banana green smoothie with them!
wow lots to celebrate! thanks for sharing so kind of you to post vlog every week that's a lot of work. Always a pleasure to travel with you and Alan of course. You are nice human being and put smile on my face. Wish you the best.❤🎼🎹
I know exactly what you mean about appreciating the seasons and also being mindful of them, I live in a tiny house on wheels off grid, and like you the winters for me are really hard….but the joy of the spring is amazing. When I lived in a house, although I acknowledging it, it didn’t have such an amazing positive impact on my life :) love your videos, congratulations on 20…. Mind I can’t believe you only have 20k ha ha :)
I Have watched you since the beginning the two of you just seem so easy going and it shows, both of you are a happy couple. Allan seems to fit in to your easy going lifestyle a neat cat for shore keep the vlogs coming, be Safe out there. Ed 40 S of Vegas
Loved coming along with you on your journey …2 years has flown by but you’ve done so much in that time. Now you’re on 21.5k subscribers and you’ll soon double that because you’re such lovely people…and there’s Alan too ❤️👍
Well done for spending two years on a narrowboat! I've been to Napton, though I didn't make it to Cropredy. On the way I found a deserted Medieval village, a field full of buffalo, and some very nice pubs. My mate and I played a traditional table top skittles game, where you chuck a flat piece of wood called a 'cheese' at the skittles, and my friend overcooked his shot and broke a whole box full of brand new beer glasses into fragments. Then our boat broke down and we had to be rescued. Apart from that, it was ideal.
Hello Ben and Emily (and Allan) - First timer visiting here. Congratulations on your two year achievement in narrow boating! It's been great watching you two grow in your narrow boating adventures. I wish I could do the same thing myself, but alas . . . . So I get to watch your channel and experience the narrowboat life on the canals through your weekly videos. They are great, keep up the fine work! Till next time - Godspeed and take care!
Thank you so much for sharing these videos. I’ve really enjoyed the vibe you three 🐈⬛ have brought to it. Also the music is such an important part of it. Well done Benny!
Thanks Ben Emily not forgetting Alan I do enjoy your blog on a Saturday evening when it comes through down here in Cornwall. Lovely half hour with a glass of wine. You are so lovely and very positive....a breath of fresh air. Take care and see you next week.
Ah Alan is like our Tubitha (can you guess her real name). She's a rescue moggy but when she became heavier than our big british blue, then she had to go on a diet. Been quite successful.
Benny and Emily that was a great catch up looking back over your two year journey. What about cruising your boat as far north as you can, putting your boat in a marina for a week, then drive to scotland and hire a boat to cruise on the Caledonian canal. Congrats on reaching 2,000 subscriber's ❤
Hello Guys, what about heading south? I jog along the Regents canal in Islington & Hackney and there are loads of like minded people living on boats with a fantastic community well worth exploring. The Narrow Boat museum is also in Kings X....If you fancy an exciting adventure!?
I live in Penley. Just down the road from Ellesmere. The Mere at Blakemere is very beautiful but there's a Mere in Marbury further on which is even more beautiful.
I absoulutely love watching every single video you all post. I'm really a lose for words but I would love to spend a week or two with both of you.. Yaw have made Narrow Boating such and adventure and I would trade my life for yours many times over. I have enjoyed Benny's music and Emily's searching for new recipes from all the things around her. And Alan is just so enjoyable to watch!!! Words just can't express the love I have for what yaw have been through over the last couple of years. Thanks for the fun times and I wish you two the best of luck in your future travels!!!
It was nice to hear your thoughts about your boat life thus far. I think it would be encouraging to others to hear that. Keep on cruising. Keep on filming.
We were camped opposite the people you were visiting at Crick Festival, my Son took that Group photo of you all. Didn’t want to intrude, you’re entitled to a break just like the rest of us, but it made our week-end a bit special. Only just Subscribed, but I’ve been watching for a year or so. All three of you have a very natural attitude on video, and that’s a bit rare. Thanks for sharing your life.
Wonderful that you drink-in the seasons and appreciate nature each day. Loved this video and coming along with the three of you each week. Big hugs from The Martineers magnet fishing group. See you in Tesco in Ellesmere, Emily, when you come back to Shropshire/Llangollen ❤
Charming -candid - with your natural pace and superb visual and musical skills - really this is a showcase for human journalism . don`t change - its perfect. really hope to say this in person if you make it to the Thames/Kennet .
We have plants that we discovered were brought over and were for special uses. Burdock is one that everybody tried to get rid of. Golden Rod a beautiful wild flower , which maybe was brought over, too. It seems like it would give you a lot more protection/room in winter - not just when cruising in the rain but also so you have somewhere dry to store things and get on/off the boat. Plus of course more places for Alan to explore when it’s too cold/wet outside.
Hello Ben and Emily,i`ve just started watching and what I love is that your both so chilled but at the same time get things done. Just think if you had got a mortgage you`d now be worried about rising interest rates and potentially negative equity instead of which tree lined, nature filled part of the canal you`ll moor up on. 🙂

everything worth doing or having comes with challenges. it makes us appreciate them that much more. enjoy your journey and thank you for sharing it.
BTW, I usually HATE adverts but yours was brilliant. Hello Fresh should be very happy with that!
Thank you so much! 🤗 ❤️
Alan's eyes after her first dip in the canal were very expressive lol
I love watching your UA-cam videos they are like watching grown up episodes of Roise and Jim
I actually thort your advertisement acting was spot on. In fact it was more genuine than any add on the TV. Looked like proper food too. 👍👍👍😎
Happy four year anniversary (linen &silk), happy two year boat anniversary, happy 20K subs (21.4K at time of writing) 😃
Thanks so much Ian ❤️😊

Thank you all for your superb entertainment. A lovely vlog❣
Soft and gentle grasp the nettle
And she'll sting you for your pain
Grasp her like a man of iron
And soft as silk remains .
I'm so envious of your life. I know it's a lot of work but the landscape is beautiful! Thanks for including Adam also.
You could also do this on the French canal network, absolutely incredible.
Benny and Emily that was a great catch up looking back over your two year journey.

Well done you two, my weekends are not complete without your vlog, soon you will be 100k subs good luck with your future
i found myself waving at the screen to say bye bye. Thank you for your adorable videos which make me feel happy. xx
It was nice to hear your thoughts about your boat life thus far. I think it would be encouraging to others to hear that. Keep on cruising. Keep on filming.
Thank you so much 🙂
Thank you for a chilled 30 mins
Everyone needs a foraging pouch! Also can you tell us what you put in your smoothies?
Loved that ! Being able to follow your day-to-day doings makes being apart a lot more bearable . Papa xxxx
Congratulations on your two anniversaries. Please give Alan a hug from me. Looking forward to your continued adventure..
Dont change anything, just keep on top. x
Thank you two for doing this and sharing your experience with us 😊
We were camped opposite the people you were visiting at Crick Festival, my Son took that Group photo of you all.
Dentdelion, which I love and find so cheerful, was one everybody tried to get out of their lawn, but we now know it was food and medicinal and also brought over. There was "mint" growing at our creek on the farm, and in the woods, was ginseng, a medicinal plant, but I don't know how it got here. LOVE all your episodes.
Congratulations on reaching 2 years, and thanks for taking us along for the ride!!
Would you ever consider getting a pram style cover for the stern? It seems like it would give you a lot more protection/room in winter - not just when cruising in the rain but also so you have somewhere dry to store things and get on/off the boat. Plus of course more places for Alan to explore when it’s too cold/wet outside.
You two are a lovely surprise!
Thanks for the lovely comment 🙂 we do feel very lucky at the moment! 🌟
How wonderful for you three Happy Anniversary 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you. Always look forward to seeing you all. 😊😊
Have bin following you guys for last 2 years love that simple lifestyles, like your hello add, had a chuckle 😃.
Congratulations on 20000 hits two years cruising and four years together such a lot to celebrate all our very Best Wishes for all the oldies 🍾🍸🌹🌷🌺👍
