thanks for that Winnie. I have a lot of affection for Welling United as I used to watch them a fair bit in the late 80s and early 90s. Good luck for the rest of your season. Chats all the way for me now.
Hi Matt, a few of us Chats fans used to support Gills and we used to go to Welling a lot when Gills weren't playing or were away. Two of us saw their cup run in the 89/90 including those Gills games (the game at Park View Road was a replay). When the winning Welling goal went in you can see Jason and I politely clapping whilst stood amongst the Gills fans. I think it was the same season, Welling ended up losing at home to Blackburn in the 3rd round, unless it was the season before. Heady days indeed.
Was there last Saturday nice lovely ground . Don’t know if you saw the scores yesterday Matt but I witnessed a village team bishop cleeve beat Torquay!! Keep up the good work 👍
Bishops Cleeve are in the Pitching In Southern League Division 1 South same league as my team Shaftesbury. They are a decent side and Kayte Lane has modern facilities. We put a lot of effort into our small clubs and hard work.
Matt I usually attempt to count Chats' away following. I couldn't yesterday as I lost my glasses somewhere in the ground. They were in my pocket as it was shades weather. I spent from half time until about 25 minutes from the end walking round the ground retracing my steps trying to find them. I'd estimate 150-200 Chats yesterday. A brilliant, but expensive (for me), day out!!!! Oh and the curried goat and rice in the ground was the best football ground food I have had in ages.
@@mattthegroundhopper9242 I've got an appointment at an optician in Chatham at lunchtime today (Monday). Looking forward to not having to wear 15 year old glasses and 6 year old shades. Happy to comment. I enjoy your videos, especially because of your lack of clickbait.
Was there today as well. Could easily have had another 2 to 3 by the end. Up the Chats! BTW was also at the Welling v Gills FA Cup match you mentioned. Gills lost 1-0
Looks a really nice ground …but don’t they sell Mars bars and coke 😉🤔🤔 Looking forward to the Gills / Notts C game vid next week …should be a good game

@@mattthegroundhopper9242 Well, how else could you explain "Gills", "Chats", "Darts" or "Rams" without being simple? You'd have to ask a Welling fan for confirmation.

Thanks for your comments and compliments, really appreciate it 👍🏻⚽️
Good video as always Matt. No clickbait just a football video log. Why you are my favourite football UA-camr. No "limbs" or catchy lines like that.
Really appreciate your comments, I try to be honest and true on the videos, cannot stand the word ‘limbs’ 👍🏻⚽️
I was sitting in the Erith cantilever stand for the game. I must say dear fella a marvelous result for the Chaps.

I was surprised by Welling tbh, however this is a good Chatham side, thanks for your comments 👍🏻⚽️

Think they are knocking the ground down at the end of next season and building a new one on the same site
@smithsRus83 Yes, construction will begin in Summer 2025 on the same ground.
Astro being placed, and new facilities.
Will be different in a few years.
Yes I have just read about it, seems a shame as I liked the ground, however was a tad dated and the club want to progress 👍🏻⚽️

There are a lot of Kent clubs still in the draw, i tip Tonbridge to win a few more rounds 👍🏻⚽️
