I started ground hopping in my early 20’s done over 200 now, he’s right about the list, if you do one you end up lust hooping rather than ground, always better to go as hock and look at up coming fixtures and see what tickles your fancy at the time. He right also that clubs should don’t need facility’s seem to have them and those who need them stand years failing.
200 grounds, a true ground hopper, every respect 👍🏻 I normally pick where I go on Thursday or Friday for the weekend, is normally very last minute 👍🏻⚽️
Good to see you back, Matt, and sorry you had a long journey only to see a 0-0 on such a cold day. King's Lynn actually had two seasons in the National League, and would have come down first time had promotion/relegation not been scrubbed by COVID that year. Good to see them doing OK as alarming noises last year when struggling, re finances. For which they have previous. Last time they got to National North circa 2009 they went bust and the phoenix club had to restart in the United Counties League (non-league tier 5). Finally, Bishops Stortford were in National North last year and they're 25+ miles south of Cambridge!
A fun fact is that us and Kings Lynn are the only two teams that have won the super play offs. We both had to win an extra game to get promoted to step 2 in 2019 which was the only year they had it.
I wear shorts year round. It's a sense of freedom in a way. As I cycle a lot it's also easier. Kings Lynn is a funny old place, always a drama there one way or another. Lovely film thank you
Hi Matt, Good video as usual. Finally up here in Norfolk.....you were close to us 3 old Gills supporters , we were at Dereham where they won a vase game on penalties 7-6. Large ground there at King's Lynn, went there years ago. Watch out , Gills starting a roll.......cheers Norwich Dave
Cheers for the content -- I live about 7 miles from Kings Lynn -- moved here 2 years ago -- and have never been to The Walks, but wanna check it out now -- I'm a Season Ticket holder at Luton Town, but will definitely popping along to Lynn to learn some new swear words when I have a spare Saturday (or Friday). Fri 18th April?? Lynn v Scunny or Derby v Luton??!!!
I noticed you on the terrace in the first half, I assumed you was blogging. Shame there was no goals, it was not the best game at the walks this season but we still are well in the mix. You noted the abuse from the fans, believe me that was quite mild to what it is normally like😳. Thanks for doing this video about our club.
Ex-Londoner in Norfolk (not far from King's Lynn) and the locals very much say they're not north or south but East Anglians. I would certainly lump this part of the world in the 'south' in the north-south divide argument though
Hi Matt. The week before was similar, very angry and it took a cracking 25 yard strike to break the deadlock. Have you been to Peterborough Sports yet? Nice little ground a similar distance from Kent.
@mattthegroundhopper9242 Yes, it was a bit wet and wild. Well, worth a visit if you get a chance. Not the nice or short walk of Kings lynn but a good club and decent ground.
@mattthegroundhopper9242 Yes indeed.. Which brand?...BTW I see ur picking up a bit now after ex Shrimpers Harris with ex Shrimpers Bonner, who learned his trade at Roots Hall.
Sorry you went all that way for a nil nil (thats annoying for a nureral!) Still was a lovely day for a match (at least during first half but chilly during the second) Went to Worthing v St Albans City on my hop. Very impressed with the ground and over 1300 there.
Whilst walking the dog one day earlier this year , around April , a lad walking towards me was wearing a bobble hat , puffa jacket , shorts and flip flops , it seemed an odd combination or am I getting old ?
Matt I’m shocked, no programmes? Call yourself a ground hopper? 🤣🤣 haha though I do get the clutter part, I’ve got box loads which I know the wife will make a fuss about when we down size 😁
Somewhere you can try for football food is Hull City the food is really good you can get Apple Crumble there. Mind you I appreciate its a long way for you to go for a ground hop.
Great video as usual Matt, and very interesting. Wont be long before you make the 5 grand. Well deserved, and a different kind of football content that is much appreciated. Was funny hearing about someone in shorts by 3 degrees. Think i would rather see the 3 Degrees lol, even though they are probably in their late 60s now. We get them over here, and its colder than there. I saw one in shorts and T shirt with no shoes, whilst it was peeing down. must have been the lockdown Matt. Turned many bloody crazy. Good for a laugh though. Cant do anything about the bad language though, even if it was excessive. Better than kicking the cat at home, in the middle of the norfolk sticks lol. You have a different brand of follower too Matt, and that must spur you on. I miss when you dont blog. Ok our boys in blue, yellow or green are picking up again, and it looks like the injured crocks are starting to earn their peanuts lol. See you at the next one. Your mate Dave in Berlin
Thanks Berlin Dave, yes my vlogs are a little different to the masses, they all seem to say the same things, mine is the more light hearted side 👍🏻 yes the super Gills have finally woken up, I will hopefully be going on Friday 👍🏻⚽️ UTG
Well at least u got a mars and coke Matt….one of the strange oddities of football in non league that Kings Lynn are in the northern division like Hereford and blinkin long away days ….i get the reason why buy just looks odd
Yes they are in the centre belt, a few relegated northern teams from the National League and them along with Oxford City could switch, thanks for your comments as always 👍🏻⚽️
@mattthegroundhopper9242 I remember going on an away day there with Ilkeston town in t 90s a couple of times it was about 3 /4 hours on the train. Another hour and you would be in Belgium lol
They weren't half as angry as Yeovil fans when we lost to Weymouth in FA Trophy last Tuesday Matt! Hah.Happy Christmas to you and look forward to many more from you!😊

Thanks Roger, yes I did read about the phoenix club re-forming, they have done well to get back to this level and compete again 👍🏻⚽️
another top video, terrible ground and fans at kings lynn
Thank you, the ground and fans weren’t that bad 👍🏻⚽️
A fun fact is that us and Kings Lynn are the only two teams that have won the super play offs. We both had to win an extra game to get promoted to step 2 in 2019 which was the only year they had it.
Thanks Mark, it’s the only opponent where you cannot sing ‘we won the super playoff……….’ when you play them 👍🏻⚽️
Great video Matt, look forward to the next one.
Nice one, thanks 👍🏻⚽️
I wear shorts year round. It's a sense of freedom in a way. As I cycle a lot it's also easier.
Kings Lynn is a funny old place, always a drama there one way or another.
Lovely film thank you
You must be made of tough stuff, thanks for your comments 👍🏻⚽️

Thanks Norwich Dave, gets cold up that part of Norfolk ❄️ yes the Gills are finally waking up, hopefully going on Friday 👍🏻⚽️ UTG
Glad to see you back Matt! Shame you were so cold with no goals to liven things up!
Thanks Fred, for me the buzz is visiting the ground with a goal or two the icing on the cake 👍🏻⚽️
Just at beginning, but good to see you back, great results for your club & mine too
Yes the tide is turning for the Gills and Palace 👍🏻⚽️
The 'park' is called the walks, glad you enjoyed our town.
The park leading towards the ground is a real gem for the area 👍🏻⚽️

Absolute no brainier, Lynn v Scunny all day long 👍🏻⚽️

You noted the abuse from the fans, believe me that was quite mild to what it is normally like😳. Thanks for doing this video about our club.
Thanks Gerald, yes I do get around the UK, normally in cognito mode, no goals but still a good day out 👍🏻⚽️
Good vlog as always Matt. Not cheap attending a game there I believe
Thanks for your comments, it was £19 entrance fee, bit more than other clubs at the same level 👍🏻⚽️
Well done on another video Matt, shame about the nil-nil, but on to the next one 💪
Thanks Billy, appreciate the message, always thinking and planning the next one 👍🏻⚽️
Good video as always, surprised in north, Norfolk to me is still south
Ex-Londoner in Norfolk (not far from King's Lynn) and the locals very much say they're not north or south but East Anglians. I would certainly lump this part of the world in the 'south' in the north-south divide argument though
It’s hard to tell, for me the north is north of Manchester and Yorkshire, this is just East but it is a long way up ⬆️👍🏻⚽️
Norfolk generally does feel more South, even the most northern part ⬆️👍🏻⚽️
@@mattthegroundhopper9242 Yorkshire or Birmingham for me as definitely north
Hi Matt. The week before was similar, very angry and it took a cracking 25 yard strike to break the deadlock.
Have you been to Peterborough Sports yet? Nice little ground a similar distance from Kent.
Thanks Craig, that must of been the game in the storm ☔️ ⛈️ no I haven’t been to Peterborough Sports yet, just Peterborough Utd 👍🏻⚽️
@mattthegroundhopper9242 Yes, it was a bit wet and wild.
Well, worth a visit if you get a chance. Not the nice or short walk of Kings lynn but a good club and decent ground.
Great to see you back matt 😂🎉
Thanks Raymond 👍🏻⚽️
Thanks for ur excellent reports Mr Gills!
Which make of lavalier mic are u using here please??
Shrimpers devotee🎉
Mr Shrimpers, “Lavalier” presumably that is a make of a microphone?
@mattthegroundhopper9242 Yes indeed.. Which brand?...BTW I see ur picking up a bit now after ex Shrimpers Harris with ex Shrimpers Bonner, who learned his trade at Roots Hall.
It would be a long journey up North if you were to do Spennymoor and Darlington if you were to do all the NL North sides!
If you notice in the videos i haven’t actually committed to visiting all of the grounds in the NLN, but I’ll give it a good go 👍🏻⚽️
@mattthegroundhopper9242 yeah I said if you want to do it but nice to see you doing a few at least so far
Come to Egham Town
I have a big list to get through, I’ll add it to my secondary list as it is quite local to me, decent size ground 👍🏻⚽️
Best food for me is Kidderminster ground it’s that good it’s won awards there shepards pie is to die for
I went there back in April but was feeling a little ropey that day 🤢🤧 but I did hear from other fans about their food 👍🏻⚽️
Sorry you went all that way for a nil nil (thats annoying for a nureral!) Still was a lovely day for a match (at least during first half but chilly during the second) Went to Worthing v St Albans City on my hop. Very impressed with the ground and over 1300 there.
Worthing is a nice little ground, they now have a shiny new stand the length of the pitch, decent bit of hopping 👍🏻⚽️
Whilst walking the dog one day earlier this year , around April , a lad walking towards me was wearing a bobble hat , puffa jacket , shorts and flip flops , it seemed an odd combination or am I getting old ?
There are some crazy people around 👍🏻⚽️
Matt I’m shocked, no programmes? Call yourself a ground hopper? 🤣🤣 haha though I do get the clutter part, I’ve got box loads which I know the wife will make a fuss about when we down size 😁
Thanks Nigel, can’t be dealing with the boxes, remember happy wife happy life 👍🏻⚽️👰
Maybe you should go for award, think you would definitely win it
That’s very kind Stephen 👍🏻⚽️🏆
@ I reckon you would win though, if you did, you & UA-cam would see just how much your content is appreciated
@@stephenanakie3500 👍🏻⚽️

Apple crumble at football, that sounds amazing, I’ll be up for that 👍🏻 Hull is part of my 160 list 👍🏻⚽️

Thanks Sally, Torquay is definitely on my list, just need to venture back down to the South West 👍🏻⚽️
Get up to chesterfield goals goals goals
Been there when the ground first opened but not for the channel, it
Is on the list 👍🏻⚽️
Kingd Lynn suffer from being in the middle of knowhere im afraid its an issue .
It’s a disadvantage but also could be an advantage 👍🏻⚽️
@mattthegroundhopper9242 I remember going on an away day there with Ilkeston town in t 90s a couple of times it was about 3 /4 hours on the train.
