Someone once said football is a funny old game, i with you, Matt. i love midweek games under lights it brings out the electricity in fans they're are normally more vocal then a day light game. I been to Gillingham, Chelsea, Wembley and perth optus stadium and they all come alive on night matches. Really enjoyed your blogs and do some more night games sometime. UTG 😊
I'm an Aveley fan, good vid mate, it's a midweek game, if a weekend chuck another 100 150+ on the attendance, no local railway station really mate close by
Mid-600s is actually a fairly respectable crowd considering Aveley were playing in the 8th tier two years ago. It takes a little bit of time for the attendances to catch up when you get quick promotions at this level. Dorking were in the same boat in 2019/20 - our first NLS season after two promotions in 3 seasons - when we averaged around 700 at home. It took a couple of years before we were regularly getting four figures, although COVID probably didn't help with that either.
@@mattthegroundhopper9242 been there few times and my grandson has played there many times , bit soulless for me ,but I’m used to craven cottage since 1966 . Cheers .
Maybe, it's because of my advancing years but I can never take a game of football seriously when the goal posts have wheels on it!
I sort of get what you mean, it feels so temporary 👍🏻⚽️
Looks a tidy ground! Scott Griffiths - who was outstanding for us at Luton Town during our non-league day, League 2 days started his career at Aveley.
I love these stories, the non league pyramid is so important for so many reasons 👍🏻⚽️

Thanks Brian, that was Jimmy Greaves that said that wasn’t it? I would love to do night games every week but damn work gets in the way, UTG 👍🏻⚽️🇦🇺

Sustained success will build the fans, its like a building block, clubs can get successive promotions too quick 👍🏻⚽️
Aveley fc the famous food critics
Love the two bus stops behind the goal.
Just love non league football for the quirks 👍🏻⚽️

You been to Yeovil ?
Last day of the season last year in our highest ever finish we had an attendance of 1,322 🤝
Well then i stand corrected Aveley FC, hence why i encourage the comments to get the facts straight 👍🏻 thanks for your comments 👍🏻⚽️
Was that a Tues night game Matt? Aveley were very competitive last season when Yeovil visited!
Hello Bruce, that was on Monday night, yes would have been one of many long road trips for Yeovil 👍🏻⚽️
Avely don’t have many links to trains , nearest tube station Upminster or Hornchurch ,unless you drive your up the swannee
Nearest train station is Rainham and thats also a mission to travel from
@@nleak92 oh yes forgot rainham , I live in Hornchurch and to get to Avely is awkward ,
Luckily they have a nice big car park outside the ground 👍🏻⚽️

Poor old Barry Fuller Matt. He usually gets at least a booking. Bradley Dack did tonight, and for his own sake was subbed at half time 😂
Old Barry run his heart out 👍🏻⚽️
Get yourself down to Plainmoor for a proper atmosphere!
Ahhh, Torquay United.
My favourite charity. 💚💚💚
Torquay is on my list 👍🏻⚽️
Only been there a couple of times but one of my favourites to visit.
Great video Matt…how much was the tickets ?
Just interested as someone has to pay for that ground 🤔
Admission was £16 👍🏻⚽️

Blimey …not cheap for that level imo…as long as the mars bar tasted good 😉
@@jeremypowell8039 £16 is actually very reasonable for this division these days. Probably about the average price at the gate
@@jeremypowell8039 we are one of the cheapest in the league for this level, and even more cheaper for season ticket holders as well. The Aveley Way 🙌
Come to Torquay
It’s on the list including a little trip around the town 👍🏻⚽️
Bournemouth is
Fair enough
Come to Torquay. It’s amazing. We’d love to have you down at Plainmoor 🫶🫶 I’ll even buy you a pint in the pub 🫶🫶🫶
