- In the video I will demonstrate how to count the bars and beats in a rap beat. This will help anyone trying to improve rap flow and rhythm. This will also help a rapper to stay on beat because he will know how to find each beat in a given measure. A measure is a bar in rap music terms.

My uncle was my mentor for music and when he started at a young age he learned a lot and he also told me when I counted bars to him I did it the same he told me to try this and to not think of the snare as a barrier or something and he counted slower it was like one.......... @@fyluvibe5983 it’s definitely a possibility, just always remember that there’s not really any rules when it comes to making music the creative space is wide open, u could create a new sound just by doing what you’re comfortable with.. i’ve seen people do 8 beats instead of 4 when combining the 3rd and 4th bar, idk if that makes sense or not lol

You are worthy to call yourself the rap coach. Many people are trying to find a flow. But by understanding and feeling the snares you don't try anymore but you do. But it would be more helpfull if you used multiple beats instead of just one. So people can hear the different flows
Have to make it short and sweet if you watch multiple videos you’ll hear/see me do this on various beats
@@THERAPCOACH dumb question but im listening to other beats just listening to the snare and I'm having trouble hearing the snare through the other sounds is there a way to fix that and I'm also having trouble counting the beat I can here cause you pointed it out but I'm struggling with other ones

Find a really easy beat that you understand to start with and literally count tht snare on the 2 and the 4 and put your rhymes on the 2 and the 4🙏 think over it couple times it'll click

Yeah a bunch of people think bars means lyrics but it really means the measures of the count .... And the 2 and the 4 isn't always on the snare it depends what count it is when creating the beat
how can i know where the snare is on different type beats?
@@rax414 you can listen for it the snare is the clapping sound In most cases your rhyming word is going to fall on the snare if it's the type of count the video is describing then it will always fall on the 2 and the 4 just like he said but if it's a different type of beat with a different count like a tounge twister beat it might be on the 1 and 3 there are different settings for every beat the beat maker sets the setting the most common is the 1,2,3,4 ..... I.e 1 kick drum , 2 snare , 3 kick drum 4 snare
the 2 and the 4 are where the snares fall...remember that.

As a rapper can i rap a bar in 8 beats instead of 4?
What i mean is usually rappers fit a bar into 4 beats, after the 4th beat they do the end rhyme and move to the next bar
What im tryna find out is if instead of ending the bar on the 4th beat, can you end it on the 8th beat
Yes you can have one line per four beats instead of two lines per four beats, it’s all about the placement and usage of rhythm
