Generally speaking I tend you find acoustical covers to be ideal just as you- but this is an exception. Potentially a wireless mic but w/ out it your spot on; a living room, everywhere for the vocals to disperse.
Most deff they lucky af cuz they in their prime here....now he can't sing aswell ans got older...still love shinedown tho always..happens to the best.of us sadly 😕
In a world of autotune, this man is still out there. What an incredible performer, Just sitting in a dude's house, Literally poring his soul like it's a 50,000 ppl stadium. GOAT!
Not being rude, I know when it gets read is can sound very rude if being corrected but just so you don't make the mistake it's not spelled Mike, it's actually spelled mic
I am a 70 year old grandmother of many and Shinedown is tops of this generations Rockers!!! Great vocals, great instrumentation, just plain good listening.
This is the best version of 45, in my humble opinion. He sang this with such emotion and it just dwarfs any other version of this song I've ever heard. He should sing this song, just like this, every time he sings it. One of the best performances I have ever seen, and I have seen countless performances by countless artists. This is excellent. Just excellent.
dude I only get on your channel when I want to listen to the acoustic versions of Simple man and 45 it's a great gift that you give us real fans who still want to listen to this music thank you
John Jackson Totally agree. He has so much talent, it's really unbelievable. He just pushed himself too hard, and blew his voice out. But honestly, there's really no one else with pipes like this. Brett Scallions (Fuel) came pretty close at one time though.
His voice is still amazing they just changed the style of their music to something that doesn't showcase it as much, old shinedown is so much better though
Jasin lived with us after his split with shinedown. I had the pleasure of playing with him and singing this very song with him. Hes a good guitar player GREAT guy. Our band had a gig, we had just lost our bass player, jasin stepped up, learned our tunes on bass and played with us at the dive bar we played, he played like he was on tour in front of 10k. Theres actually a song on youtube, some one recorded the gig.
Brent's voice is stellar right here I've seen him live he's all about the little people this video shows why he's is gifted people there not many vocalists out there that could hit these notes especially live
I totally agree with you. I just recently saw them and he came out and sang to the people on the hill. He also came out with Zack to the middle of the crowd and did an acoustic cover of Simple Man. After singing Simple Man him and Zack pulled a teenage girl from the crowd into a huge hug and she started crying. They are simply amazing, would go see them again in a heartbeat.
It’s been a decade and I always come back to this video. It’s so pure because these guys are jamming with just a guitar at a house party. I wish I was here man.
I LOVE THESE VIDEOS, I actually think I prefer them over the studio versions (and that’s saying something) just a guitar and an AMAZING VOCALIST!! There’s no bullshit overdubs or auto tune, just an all natural and POWERFUL VOICE. He’s in a class by himself in my opinion (well him and Myles Kennedy, and Aaron Lewis)
They killed the mood of the song.... "WOOOO.... Merry Christmas" Like wtf. If I was there I wouldn't even be able to talk. Such a great acoustic performance nonetheless
I remember these guys first on the radio. I was born and raised 30 minutes north of Jax in Brunswick Ga and my job was driving a sand truck to Jax delivering sand. This song was always blasted on my radio when it came on. Awesome performance here.
My favorite genre of music is R&B, but this dude right here can flat out sing period....very impressive, not many guys out now-a-days, that sound just as good as they do in the studio
Been a very long time. I stumbled upon Shinedown I believe 11 or more years ago. I was searching Skynyrd simple man and from that day forward have been a massive fan. Brent has been gifted a absolute god's voice
Can I just say you are the luckiest man ever! To have Brent sing that amazing and that close to me! WOW I've watached these videos so many times and every single time I get chills!
As with many songs, the meanings become personal to who hears them. This song is so very special to me in so many ways. I would like to tell my story. In 1999, my wife and I lost the lives of our twin daughters that right from the beginning, I said I didn't want them. I've regretted it since. From the first lyrics to the last, this song serves as my sentence. Sometimes your songs have more meaning then what you intended.
I can never get over how lucky you guys were at that house. I'm more into classic rock, but this fucking guy has a voice that puts you in a trance. I don't party much anymore, but if I would've been at this party... I probably would have kept partying forever lol. I guess it's kind of a good thing.
I can totally relate to that. Just casually being at a party with this kind of magic will eventually bring to the fun of the fun. Gave up on it, but witnessed some passionable people.
I can totally relate to that. Just casually being at a parties that bring magic moments will eventually lead you to some breathtaking shit. I gave up on it, but definitely saw some passion during it all.
I can't tell you how many times I've watched these videos and I'm just amazed every time at how lucky y'all were and how incredible Brent and Jasin were.
I absolutely love this version of this tune.....one of the best songs ever written, being sung by one of the best vocalists I have ever heard. Thank you for sharing this....it amazing!
true vocalist and his guitar player this is one of the most raw viewings i have seen, it gives me chills because i grew up around many musicians this is too realistic for me , too many times i have been in this same position watching people play wondering how the fuck they bring it altogether to make something soo fucking amazing thank you for sharing this i watch it all the time along with simple man.
I was in a band called 68rouge and we did this tour. I think it was 3 doors down, seether and shinedown. beginning of the tour they weree not that known at the end the biggest band in the country. really nice dudes
I was a kid in highschool back in 07'. I remember these guys playing on every radio station. They did a few of these private shows as contest prizes. I tried like hell to win one. Even bought a second cell phone. I'm glad you uploaded these. 45 is the reason I picked up a guitar, and almost 15yrs later I'm still jamming. Always the first song I play at open mic nights.
I remember seeing this way back, probably around 2006 tbh. Prolly posted on a different channel or something. It was unreal back then. Everyone was like "man these guys are gonna be huge". They did get pretty big, but at some point they stopped using his voice like that. I think they went more mainstream or something and now he's just kind of another singer...they do well and are popular and still on the radio but man they don't make stuff that sounds like that anymore.
@pattrick So awesome! I won the Christmas light logo contest for 93X in 2004. Didn't get Shinedown, but the band 10 Years and they played 6 songs. The house on the corner of Walnut Grove and Highland. I'll never forget it, as I'm sure you'll never forget this. Thanks for sharing. Cool to stumble upon another person in Memphis who won the logo in lights. Such a bummer 93X has been gone.
I am hooked definitely,,this raw natural sound,,,nothing added,,,I could listening to you's all night forsure,,,,Love to see you in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario!! You's definitely rock HARD!!
I absolutely love Shinedown. I'm a vocalist in Asheville NC m had the honor to attend the show at The Orange Peel. I have 3 originals now n am working on getting recognition. Thanks for sharing this
I would truly give anything to have this happen this man has helped me through my life with his music time and time again you can really feel the passion every time you hear his voice whether its on the radio or in this video the first shinedown concert I went to I cried like a baby and I hope one day to shake your hand Brent to thank you personally for being the amazing person you are
WHAT A GREAT PERFORMANCE, How cool it must have been to be there live with them, you can just see the music swirling around in there aura, very cool, thanks for sharing.

Lock down Shinedown's latest album amzn.to/3sROD4i
That’s because he’s on 🔥🔥🔥🔥Best vocals ever!!!!
No mic, no autotune, no where to hide...pure talent.
Not talent, practice and love.
Generally speaking I tend you find acoustical covers to be ideal just as you- but this is an exception. Potentially a wireless mic but w/ out it your spot on; a living room, everywhere for the vocals to disperse.
This dude won a radio contest to have them play at his house. Lucky S.O.B.
Most deff they lucky af cuz they in their prime here....now he can't sing aswell ans got older...still love shinedown tho always..happens to the best.of us sadly 😕
And recorded what is probably the best version of simple man played live…
What a night man, would love to have seen brent like that
These dudes been famous. Wth y'all been Kmsl
Really!!??. Damn soo lucky!!
JUST A GUITAR AND AND A PERSON SINGING ....THIS IS PURE MUSIC ..
Preach !

@@edgarflores9088 Jasin Todd if you're still wondering
SO raw, real and honestly ridiculous. Brent's talent is through the roof! These people have no idea that they just witnessed greatness!
In a world of autotune, this man is still out there. What an incredible performer, Just sitting in a dude's house, Literally poring his soul like it's a 50,000 ppl stadium. GOAT!
Holy hell 10 years later and this is still the coolest set of videos ever done in my opinion.
Yeah!
This is so cool!
I'am so jealous! But in the same time so glad for the guy who got them playing there👍
Best times I agree guitar n singing miss those times nice/sad though ohwell
I agee
It's so rare to hear this type of rock artist completely unplugged (not even a mike), and sounding so good still! Great performance!
Not being rude, I know when it gets read is can sound very rude if being corrected but just so you don't make the mistake it's not spelled Mike, it's actually spelled mic
the band like a storm does it often!

I respect your opinion but I disagree. I think the album acoustic version is the best.
Regardless it's awesome though.
dude I only get on your channel when I want to listen to the acoustic versions of Simple man and 45 it's a great gift that you give us real fans who still want to listen to this music thank you
I know they are having a second way of success right now. But to me....this is the PRIME of Shinedown.
No joke. Brent's voice just took too much of a beating over the years, which is understandable.
John Jackson Totally agree. He has so much talent, it's really unbelievable. He just pushed himself too hard, and blew his voice out. But honestly, there's really no one else with pipes like this. Brett Scallions (Fuel) came pretty close at one time though.
Y'all are crazy! He still rocks and still has an awesome voice!!
His voice is still amazing they just changed the style of their music to something that doesn't showcase it as much, old shinedown is so much better though
couldn't be said better
Whoa! I'm here from 2024, great voice !
A talented guitar player and a vocalist with a great voice! No crazy stadium requirements

to this day this is my favorite music video of all time
I would love to hear him and Shaun Morgan from Seether sing together. It would be beautiful!
Shinedown and Seether both opened at my first concert.
They have a cover of nutshell together
ua-cam.com/video/Vlozpa5Tk-k/v-deo.html That nutshell cover
They do look up Brent and Shaun singing Alice In Chains Nutshell 😊

True but...
proof he doesn’t need anything but a guitar and a voice
i Guess thats how pure talent sounds like!
Brent looks so young. Not that he is old, He looks great. Love this video. First time I have seen it.

This proves to me that Shinedown is one of the best bands out there hands down.
These videos of "In My House" still give me chills. Such raw, soul-bearing talent!
They killed the mood of the song.... "WOOOO.... Merry Christmas" Like wtf. If I was there I wouldn't even be able to talk. Such a great acoustic performance nonetheless
Dustin Goldman no they didn’t, stop being ridiculous and picky
I honestly thought it was annoying
I agree it takes away from the song.
I´ve loved this performance ever since I heard it for the first time, but yes, that still bugs me every time
Don’t be a gay snowflake…everything doesn’t have to offend you.

Hey Brent, can you come over tonight? Oh, cool, see you later.
Hahahaha good one
His voice......chills. Love Shinedown!
