Great to see Tom being featured, I've been following his journey for a while now and its all extremely fascinating and of course motivating. It's also worth following Jailhouse Strong alongside Tom's account as Josh Bryant has been working very closely with him on this, a vast selection of no nonsense material all round from these guys!

@@SethBeck i think a lot of it is ego. They dont know where they stand and dont want to sign up and lose/do poorly so they dont compete. Some people simply don't care about showing it to the whole world, they truly do it for themselves only. It's an admirable trait if you ask me, especially in this insta fame day and age. I personally know a few very strong people myself and one in particular who can do over 100 pull ups, completely clean with lockouts but never cared to compete or anything like that. As a matter of fact he doesn't even have Instagram or Facebook account and he is 24 year old. It's kinda like a beauty pageant, not all beautiful women out there necessarily like to compete against others or have the need to "prove it" to anyone. To each their own.

Most top strongman can't pause bench 600 lb with a close grip and a flat back. This guy can. Most of them couldn't match any of the odd lifts he does(his zercher walks or the crazy things he does with his neck) and they aren't nearly as explosive or conditioned as him. But they are stronger deadlifters and are much better at the events that they have to do at the competition. For him to be a top strongmen he would have to actually train for it. It's just like a strongman entering a powerlifting competition, he will do well, but he won't be the best unless he dedicates himself completely to powerlifting.

He loads 200+ kilo kegs, throws atlas stones like they're made of styrofoam, and has seated weighted jumps reaching over 4 feet in height. To be this size and figure and as explosive as he is, he's insane

It's videos like this that made me realize that my genetics are just not meant for lifting heavy objects. My body maxed out at 420Lb dead, 300Lb bench and 375Lb squat and I know for a fact that without substances I could not achieve more. Therefore it was pointless to continue and i switched over to martial arts and gymnastics which I am much better built for.

Truly amazing - genetics assigned at birth and steroids administered year after year after year. Impressive indeed.

He was close to 400lbs when he last bulked and still jacked and lean. He's just built to carry that weight without being overly fat

He needs to watch his back on the deads. Needs to lift more through his legs, his quads. He will do a back injury which could paralyze him. If he cant lift more through transferring to the legs he should def lift lighter until he perfects his technique. Craning your back like that will fuck it.
