It doesn't mean he's getting out after 20 years. VERY rarely do people get paroled the first time they are eligible for it- especially for murder cases. He'd have to have a perfect record that whole 20 years, and even if he did it still wouldn't mean he's guaranteed to get out. Also with someone as shitty and degenerate as this guy I doubt he'll be a good person in jail.

It doesn’t mean you get out. Those are just hearings where they evaluate you. Once you get into the system, you change into your environment, the process takes you into a higher level of violence for survival. You end up catching other crimes ~ fights with knives, Riots, conflicts, it doesn’t mean you get out. People don’t realize how crazy these places can be especially in level four or max level ~ lifers have nothing to loose it’s easy to get killed. No women, no good food, just a human zoo with no freedom. Imagine never being able to eat your favorite meals again? Or buying your favorite clothes? 20 years are not enough. Think about how much time we use to grow up a kid.

5 years-99 years. That means he will be eligible for parole after 5 years! Totally unacceptable

Texas doesn’t sentence people with gap sentencing like 2-20 or 5-99. That is the range of punishment but it is a specific sentence. This adult got 40 years and by state law is not eligible for a parole hearing for at least 20 years.

Who is in charge of the numbers. If they don't mean anything. So let's raise the numbers. Like the sentence should be 150 Years.
    And after 50 years.
    We will review your case.

He should not be serving a concurrent incarceration it should be a full 40 consecutive years the courts are too freaking lenient

I blame the parents. Some people shouldn’t be allowed to have children.

Parents ? It’s a lot of parents that raise their children to do what’s right and yet they choose the wrong path. He is to blame and no one else .

60 years, plus 20 years to be served concurrently. oh, btw..... you'll be eligible for parole after 20 years. I hate our 'judicial' system. Never thinking of the victims or their families.

It was 40 plus 20, but you're right to hate the system. Concurrent sentences is a free pass on the shorter sentence.
