Hello! I have a whole bunch of jars I need to clean. I just sit them on the candle warmer plates and wait until it all melts down. I then pour it out onto ice cube trays and have them cool, and then reuse like wax melts (they still have a lot of fragrance left) in my Scentsy warmers. Wash and reuse jars. Or I just leave jars with left over wax on the warming plate until the scent begins to fade away for a few days. Then just pour out in trash can and wash with hot soapy water.

So thankful you did this on the Yankee candle larger ones because I use a lot of these size candles also. Please do a video on what all you can store in them and or how to decorate the large yanke candle jars for "storage"

I use steel wool to get soaked paper labels off and glue residue with dish soap. Works well.

Before washing the jars, heat the labels with a hair drier on high heat. With a razor blade or Sharpe knife start lifting an edge slowly as you continue to heat the label. You can also place the jars in a 200 degree oven to melt the wax, placing the jars on a pan. When they are cool enough to handle but before the wax solidifies, pour wax into a clean tin can to use in a new candle or for easy discard.

To make less mess, stick the candle in the freezer for a half hour and then take a butter knife and stab the wax and it will crack right out.

I have done that before in past and within 2-3 weeks the glass cracks... not sure if freezing causes this issues. Boiling water or a hot plate work best for these yankee jars.

For those who don’t have goo gone or a similar product: Mix baking soda with a cooking oil (doesn’t mater which kind, I personally use rape
seed oil) until it forms a paste like consistency. Smear that on the parts of the jar that has glue and let it sit for an hour or longer. After that, kinda exfoliate the jar with the paste while washing it off and the glue should be gone.

Thank you. This video was very helpful. I wasn't sure if I should wash the candles in the sink. I was worried about wax going down the drain. That was my only concern. But the jars turned out great.

I do the same thing to remove the wax. Put the candle holder in some boiling water. I just boil water in a big sauce pan or high-sided frying pan. Then pour out the wax into a can (whatever is in the recycle bin). Ov gloves are perfect for holding the container. Then I use Pam cooking spray or a big glob of coconut oil to get the sticker residue off. Then I put them in the dishwasher for the final clean.

A really great tip to get stickers off is use a hairdryer and use the heat from it to blow onto the sticker area. Hold the hot air blowing close to it for a bit and then that heat will make the glue from the sticker warm up and then the sticker will peel off easier. Less time then soaking the sticker.

I actually set the jars on a tray in the oven set at it lowest setting : 170°
    The wax pours out.
I have problems getting the scent of the candle out from the lids ! Any ideas ? I think I will soak them in baking soda and water overnight.

Before washing them turn them upside down and put some essential oil on it pulls the stickers off. Great idea though! I throw mine away never thought of this perfect! Thank You!!

I find it much easier to freeze the jars in a freezer bag and then the wax pops right out with a butter knife...I let them get room temp before I soak and wash them ...it even helps the stickers come off.😊 Less messy also

How do you ensure that none of the wax or scourers pieces go into the drains and end up in waterways. The scourers are essentially plastic; what do you do with them afterwards?
