We have shown you how to clean out your old candle jars, so now we want to share some ideas on how to use those empty containers. Many of these uses could be used with candle jars that came with lids, but if you don't have one then simply cover where necessary with plastic wrap or tin foil.

Also, another cute idea is to fill your candle jar with fancy decor! I have an empty candle jar filled with fake leaves, diamonds, and mini pine cones for fall time. It really spices up the room.

I've used two candle jars for my makeup products like concealer, eyeliner, eye pencils, lip liners, mascara, lip products and stuff. I've used another for pens and in another one I put origami stars that I made haha. I still have like another 10 jars sitting in a box and I don't know what to do with them. Thanks for the ideas! :D
I use them as mini fake flower vases for a splash of color throughout bookshelves and spaces that need fun flavor. I think I will try the deoderizer hack and use in my cabinets with peppermint oil. Hopefully it will help deter pests at the same time!
I, like Chad, have a skittle obsession. the berry versions are my fave, the orchards are second. I put them in a mason jar in my room already 😊
Normally I don't put food in my candles jars, but the organic candle was the perfect size and a funky shape, so after I boiled the jar, I put stevia in it. (Looks lovely on my table)

Very nice jar on candles.
I saw an article that it was not supposed to be safe to reuse a candle jar for food purposes because something in the production of the candle ruins the jar that makes it unsafe to use even after cleaning.
I would stick to non food usage ones.
smileBIGtime I was totally thinking that too! I personally wouldn't eat anything out of a candle jar.
I saw a warning on the label of a citronella candle at a Dollar Tree that it contained lead - i guess in the wick.
I've always been wary about using candle jars for food or drink because of this reason, but I always thought it was just me being paranoid!! But I reuse all my candle jars for non-food uses such as floating water candles in the bathroom, pen holders, and as a wash pot for my paintbrushes (art brushes not decor!). But I would reuse jam-jars for food & drink as they are safe for consumables. I even have a really large pickle jar that I use for dry cat food to save me fighting with the big heavy bag everyday!
I agree with all of you ladies obviously! Scary to find out their may be lead in the candles though! I hadn't even thought of that!

If you have old candles that still have wax left but you can no longer burn, a good way to reuse them is to melt them down and create wax melts. I melted my leftover yankee candles in a pan of boiling water, poured the liquified wax into cupcake cases (or something similar) and let them set. You can then remove them from the cases and reuse them as wax melts in a melt burner. Hope this helps! :)

Love these ideas. Thanks Melissa! Strangely, I don't eat candy, but I could use it for nuts (almonds, pistachios are my favorites). That would also make a cute crafty gift around the holidays.

i had bought the same candle see through jar @ my local grocer. after spent. i cleaned up. Now i have a set of 8 heavy duty glassware. i have about 30 really cool jars from Broyhill and i didn't want to toss. so here I am looking for ideas.

OMG the only reason I was checking to see if you can repurpose a candle jar is for cat treats. The current jar I'm using is from spaghetti The candle jar is decorative and has a pretty.

I use them for individual butter keepers for guests so everyone has butter when they want it rather than passing around butter while dinner gets cold. Let the butter get to room temperature before serving.

M&Ms!!! Definitely 100%! lol I love chocolate! but for this time of year I would use candy corn as a festive and decorative piece and keep them fresh with a lid.

Could you please do a video on how to remove old odors from mason jars to be reused again? Your videos has been very helpful. Keep it up.
Pour coffee grounds, baking soda, and vinegar into the jar then pour in boilinng water. Let sit upside down so the mixture also touches the lid for 15 mins, then shake for a good bit, pour it out and wash like normal
Bleach, water and dish soap and let it sit for a day.
peanut m&m... love them in the biggest candle jar I can find
i can tell which is the actual rocks glass, the one big enough around to put a giant ice block in :D, I love the Red Leaf Home candles, they come with driftwood tops and i'm looking for something to do with those. I dont really need more coasters, though hmm.. i'll keep pondering. - I add Vitamin E oil and Aloe to that sugar scrub mixture.

a great alternative to empty candle jars (link included), whether you don't want to clean them out, you don't buy candles, or you just want the classy look of the jars. i would suggest these glass containers from target. they are clear, come in a variety of sizes, and..... they all have lids! and I mean good lids, like the kind where you can turn the jar over and the lid stays on. they are advertised for being "stackable" which is a good plus. they are also a great price! they range from $3.00 - $9.00 depending on the size.

Hahaha our cats steal the treats bags too! Melissa, what do you do with all the lids if you reuse the glasses without them? Do you store them to possibly reuse the jar in a different way (with lid) at later time? Or do you get rid of the clutter they create by tossing them in the recycle bin? I'd love to know!

Yassss, second life for candle jars! I love the Skittles idea - if you really want to get creative, you could separate all of the colors and have a tower of Skittles LOL. I would put caramels or the classic "Red Hots" in my second life candle jar! The cat making off with treats was hilarious!!
