That crushed me like a mourning that ends and to let it go. The realization that Chris Cornell is gone forever, there won't be any Soundgarden encore, that it was the last time we'd ever hear those Soundgarden songs as we know it. It sounded like Ben, Matt and Kim sending off a dirge in honor of their fallen comrade.
@@chrispease6939 I'm grateful that I got to witness this outstanding artist during my lifetime, it's like it was just yesterday when I was a 11 years old kid listening to Black Hole Sun on the radio and being blown away. Chris is one of my musical hero and artistic inspiration.
Beautifully expressed ! This happened to me a while ago but all of it came rushing back when I saw this...the pain of knowing we'll never hear from him again cuts deep..things he left unsaid, the songs unfinished are like broken glass that will never be whole again..it does inspire me to always try & create something meaningful & gives me strength to not wander off in the middle of a story...life will have been a success if I manage to leave a smidgen of the impact he had on our existence...thanks gain for your words :)
That's absolutely what I got from it too, a final farewell. It was absolutely deafening, the reverberation in my chest was unreal, the whole arena was vibrating. The fact most of the audience stayed, in silence, and just observed, witnessed, cried. You could almost feel it reaching up to the heavens, and yet, at the end, I was crying out for Chris to come walking out from the wings to sing one final song. I've never been to a gig like it, so beautiful, so rocking, so sad. So many beautiful musical and spoken tributes. #NoOneSingsLikeYouAnymore
You felt it too, Kim played some melody that sounded like a blend of irish and indian flavors. I'm wondering if he was basically honoring their friendship with sound, an irish and indian american boys united by their love of music transcending existence and barriers. Also Ben playing a snippet of Rowing, the last track of their last album together King Animal. Chills.
Super sad, all over again. Awesome final outro though. I agree it seemed like a tribal send-off, the low droning reminded me of bagpipes and the lights were like torches. We miss you, Chris! His music, in all shapes and forms, always found a way to touch me. He was a music god and will be missed tremendously. RIP good sir, thoughts and prayers to the family and to my fellow Cornell fans.
I’m crushed. The last time we will ever hear the feedback to end the show. The last time we will ever see them walk off stage. Then to see them set up Chris’s guitar to send feedback. Just awful. I’m crying like it was May 2017 again.
I remember buying that Guitar Magazine, in the mid 90s, where Chris and Kim were in the cover. Kim with his SG-100, and Chris with his Gretsch. There weren’t any INternet, so reading those pages is already like connecting with the Gods. I remember playing the Superunknown album every day, from track one to the last track “she likes surprise”, and off course I played “Just Like a Suicide” several times. I remember I bought ‘Down on the upside’ a year before my Grandmother passing, well in short a lot of my life stories I connect it with Soundgarden songs...if I’m happy, I’d listen to Burden in my Head..In the mornings in highschool I’d Listen to ‘Drown Me’...In January 2013 I finally got to see them Live in NY..flew all the way from Jakarta (22 hours)...was gonna see them again at Temple of the Dog reunion..but couldn’t..so Thank You, KIM, MATT (the Vinnie Colaiuta of Seattle Sound), Ben, and Chris...
I only got to see Soundgarden once, and to my dying day it’ll bug me that I really wasn’t in the mood for a concert. It was a Friday. I was tired from work, not been sleeping well and I actually left before their encore. They played ‘Jesus Christ Pose’, ‘Rusty Cage’, ‘Spoonman’ and even though it was talk about them not playing it, they played ‘Black Hole Sun’. When the news of Chris’s death reached me, I was floored. He was no ordinary musician. He was up there amongst Bowie, Mercury, Lemmy and all the other true legends of this thing we call ‘rocknroll’. This final goodbye from Matt, Kim and Ben gives me that same feeling. So glad I got to see them preform and to be able to say: I walked the earth at the same time as Soundgarden. Thank you Chris, say hello to heaven.
just waiting for Chris to walk out and pick up his guitar :( it's good to see these guys on stage though. i hope it was therapeutic for them. love and miss Soundgarden and Chris beyond expression.
Is it just me or is cornells eyes following ,this is how you put a band like Soundgarden away forever .._ love the sounds kim thayil makes .. Its like bagpipes chris would be sooo pround what a trip love ty Soundgarden 4life
Wow, so many tears. A sending off, as if they were all finally bidding farewell to Chris and to Soundgarden through the outro. Was Kim the one who plugged in Chris’s guitar at the end? Fitting, if so. He was there at the very beginning and the very end. LoudLove ❤️
I was there. Dave Grohl said it best, the saddest thing about the show was that Chris himself couldn’t have been there to see how much we all loved him. We were so lucky to have Chris, and though he has passed, his music will live on forever 💙
I got to see Chris live in Lakewood Ohio in 2015 for his Higher Truth tour. I brought my mom. I'm a Male and not very sensitive. I teared up during the concert and was destroyed on May 17th. I was supposed to see Soundgarden for the first time in Columbus at Rock on the Range...
Heavily dismal - but somehow meaningful - I got it. Love you, Soundgarden. Please stay together and forever continue to grow. I just hope you guys collaborate for future artistic projects. ~Namaste!~
Chris Cornell was an amazing musician, I remember first hearing Soundgarden - Baotorfinger & was blown away. For those of you who like checking out bands you’ve never heard before I suggest checking out the Canadian musician/band called,”Big Wreck” & his side project band called,”Thornley”. His name is Ian Thornley & is an amazing singer/guitarist. He sounds like Chris Cornell & with all due respect to Chris Cornell I think Ian Thornley is a tad better imo for singing but when it comes to guitar playing Ian Thornley blows Chris Cornell away hands down. But because Ian is Canadian I think its kinda held him back with trying to get exposure which is the case for a lot of Canadian bands/musicians such as 54-40,The Tragically Hip,Big Wreck etc.
You’re not too familiar with Soundgarden, are you? This is how they would always end their shows. To someone new, it might seem like it’s just noise, but to us who have experienced them live, we understand exactly what they’re doing

deadstar44 that was beautifully written. Makes me choke up to have been in his lifetime
Exactly what is was... a goodbye to a friend, on their own musical way

Tears me up everytime...you can feel Chris leave the building.
What a concert/funeral.
Like an Irish goodbye... All their sounds in one place.
Phenomenal.
Goodbye, Soundgarden.
Good bye, Chris.
Thank you.

@@deadstar44 Yes! The picture, the sound, the lights... All perfect. It's a goodbye indeed.
Agreed, beautiful and chilling...and perfect
@Tina McCoy I hear ya!

I felt that was the most poignant moment of the show, it left me speechless for a while. Farewell Chris & Soundgarden.

Chris Cornell’s guitar plugged in and feeding back to end the show in true Soundgarden tradition...
I've probably watched this over 50 times since the day it was posted. What a loss, and what an amazing ending to this tribute concert. R.I.P.
just waiting for Chris to walk out and pick up his guitar :( it's good to see these guys on stage though. i hope it was therapeutic for them. love and miss Soundgarden and Chris beyond expression.
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for uploading this, and r.i.p chris cornell
THIS SEEMS TO BE A FAREWELL
This is so bizarre, strangely beautiful and fascinating...The solemnity and melancholy are distressing...
You nailed this Mikolaj, this is goodbye to CC and SG, you can feel Chris's presence.....the end...…………………….
One things on this life that I wont be experiencing; seeing them live. Well Im still fortunate enough as their works became part of my life.
Is it just me or is cornells eyes following ,this is how you put a band like Soundgarden away forever .._ love the sounds kim thayil makes .. Its like bagpipes chris would be sooo pround what a trip love ty Soundgarden 4life

Rest in LOUD LOVE Chris ♥ You are missed.

Farewell Chris and Soundgarden
Awww just the way they’re last show with him ended 💔
They always ended their shows with feedback...
Eric Rasmussen I wasn’t aware they always ended their shows like that , sadly I never saw them . Seeing it just brought me straight back to May 17 . 💔

I am so sad right now; kind of needed it, though
As of January 30th 2019, those 10 UNLIKES...you know who you are and what you are.
Wow.. Powerful
That was All too..'Real' for me 💓
You were the greatest of all time, Chris.
Make sure to watch this until the end!!!
I love that final note that drones on.
That’s a send off if I ever saw one.
Just like they go out. Farwell.
Want it played at my funeral.
It hurts like hell

Esto me hizo llorar... es el sonido llorando un hermano. RIP Chris Cornell
I really should have been there.
Tell me this got a DVD or something. PLEASE!

There's been more than enough of that.

Was their whole performance a sound check?
STFU!!!!!!!!!
