The guy is a beast and this is a great podcast. But come on making a statement that hyrox top athletes would beat any CrossFit game’s athlete it’s 100 % just talk because if you really thought that why are they not becoming the fittest on earth? The skill involved in CrossFit just to get to the games is on another level. Hyrox is low skill they are crazy fit and strong but it’s a completely different thing to CrossFit . I no hunter had a invitation to the games but he got cut correct me if I’m wrong but I’m sure it was on the 1st or 2nd day and that says a lot considering he’s so fit and so strong and done CrossFit for a year that just shows the level they are at the top .. I believe if the top hyrox championships all went into CrossFit for 2 years I still don’t think they could even qualify for the games .. hey I’m not shitting on hyrox I think is a grate test of fitness and a grate sport and I’m a fan of hunter guys a awsum athlete. But think personally CrossFit is another beast at the top level the - the snatch . Clean + jerk the high level gymnastics just them on there own take years of training and discipline without everything else involved. Hey I might be wrong but that’s my thoughts . Love your channel guys 🙏

I think the argument people make, me included, is that if we're talking purely fitness, there isn't a CrossFit athlete on earth, or any other athlete for that matter, that can compete with Hunter. But as you mentioned, Crossfit has a much higher "skill" element, like walking on your hands. Many of the the strength movement like the kipping pull-ups have a huge skill component even though it also requires strength. And of course, Olympic style barbell movements are also strength movements that require a lot of skill. In addition, the endurance test of a CrossFit athlete is nowhere close to that of a Hyrox athlete, as many crossover CrossFit folks have learned when they entered the Hyrox arena.
It's better to just say the top athletes of each sport are incredible human beings that are both fit, just slightly different.
I think it would be fun to put together some kind of pure fitness test that doesn't require skill. I've always thought a simple and fun event would be to pile a bunch of rocks and boulders of different sizes and weights, add a few logs of different sizes too, and have the top athletes in both sports move them two miles on a flat surface, and then up a mountain, perhaps a few more more miles up with a few thousand feet of elevation? This would be a test of pure strength and endurance.
