Does this valve fault cause hot water to work only downstairs, but not up? Which is my problem.

No, it must be something with your hot water pipes that leads to upstairs... Or maybe valve in wall is blocked for upstairs.

@@Aw4ken3d could be an issue with the pump

What is the cause? There doesn’t seem to be many things that can go wrong with 'a valve'. Can be cleaned or serviced or would you need to replace it?

Normally the rubber diaphragm inside the diverted valve has failed or has a small pinhole in, causing loss of flow to press against the micro switch. I believe just the diaphragm can be replaced.

What if pressure is constantly pushing against micro switch

Matt Walker Is correct. Totally agree but it could also just mean the plunger just needs greasing.

I've got an issue with a Ravenheat CSi120 T - it is currently not delivering continuous hot water. Water gets hot - then goes luke warm then hot again repeatedly. When calling for HW the Boiler fires to give hot water - then shuts down - then fires up again. Suspect the diverter is the issue. Any pointers appreciated.

Could be a primary sensor or flame sensing electrode

Could be caused by your plate heat exchanger being blocked also
