You can use this approach to recover data in both internal and external hard drive.
Recovering lost partition is easy if you follow the steps as show in this video.
To recover unallocated disk partition with data on it we are going to disk drill tool. Its a free partition recovery tool that will recover deleted partition for you. You can select either Windows 10 or mac version.

it could be due external hard drive adapter which connects to usb port or sometimes USB port is causing such issues.

I have an external WD hard drive of 1 TB capacity. It's called "My book" and requires power source and is password protected. For some reason, it stopped working and I took it out from its case and plugged it directly into the CPU. It is showing as unallocated drive. I tried your method but it says no recoverable partitions found. The drive has very important pictures and I don't have their backup. :( Can you please help?

So I patched the free version. Hope it will work.

Hey, I have lost my all old partition while dual booting and installing Ubuntu along side with win 10. So I lost my all data in that partition and created a new table of partition for Ubuntu. Can I get my old partition or anything from it. Please help......

Now, no matter what I scan it with for partition recovery, it says "no recoverable lost partitions found". I have already tried, and do not want to try again, data recovery as it finds millions of individual files and there are no organisational system. I need the folder structure back. What can I do?
