Kindly Reminder: Please do not write new files or save recovered files to the original drive, because it may overwrite lost files, and overwritten files can't be recovered anymore.

The mistake I have made at the Section "set letter" I just created new partition there" since mine was not showing the option of setting latter then I lost all the data and the drive was brand new but without data. now I'm trying to recover the data through its recovery section. hope I can get ma data back. "It was my own mistake" Thanks again for your amazing tutorial. I will leave an update in either case of being able to recover or not just to help others to avoid doing the same mistake.
What if the disk is not recognized? Disk Manager says to initialize the disk in order to access it, but everything I've read states to avoid doing this if at all possible as it will only make recovery more difficult.

I am using my seagate 1TB EX HDD since one year. There is 700GB data. Suddenly 7days back it gave beep sound. Light gone off. Then I ejected through safe removal process. i have the same problem as above. please help me, how do i recover files from an external hard drive which does not show up in "my computer". i tried minitool partition recovery wizard. it takes forever to scan. also my file system shows "bad disk" ..please guide.

Did you mean to recover the lost data from the lost partition?
If yes, you may need to use the Data Recovery function to scan the new drive since the previous partition table may be overwritten after creating the new partition.
I did all those things..After successful recovery the recovered file system showing Logical (Type) How to change from Logical to Primary ??

so im trying this on my 2TB external HDD and so far im 20% in and the software is saying it has found 25TB worth of files..... all the files paths and folders are correct that its showing but its showing multiple video files as 1.93TB each. so when the scan is finally done what the hell am i supposed to do? as im more than sure that it wont let me recover "more" than the HDD can hold

In your case, there might be soem problmes with your big files. You only need to select the small files and save them on a safe place.
