After using the Flextone stuff for 22 years, I finally ordered my POD Go this week. My entire band is on in-ears anyway and I'm so excited to show up to a gig with my guitars, one bag and a few other things and be setup in minutes! This was a great video and very helpful! I spent DAYS dialing in and continuing to adjust my sounds on the Flextone years ago, I'm sure I'm going to be doing the same with this although having the experience with the Line6 stuff, I'm hoping it won't be too crazy. But thank you for the very informative video!
Picked one up today and honestly unless your an absolute nutter and need 12+ pedals and double amp setups the pod does it all... amazing sounds after just a few hours playing around Super easy to get preset tones from online 10/10
I love my pod go! You can really get deep into making tones using the pod go edit. Price wise you get a lot more than your paying for. Seriously awesome product
When I was a young musician in the 70's, I never thought I would see the term "flawless Japanese construction" used to describe a guitar. We've come a long way baby. :D
As a middle/upper class mexican i have never had a bad experience with the label Japanese made, on the contrary, we were taught that Japanese craftsmanship was top notch, on the other hand our understanding of American made goods was and is that they are good enough, no less no more, specially if we factor production lines that involved a lot of immigrant Mexican hands, something that for the most part in the guitar world, is most brands. The appeal of an American made Taylor, strat or even some martins is really diminished when you factor in that they could be made by the very same hands with virtually zero difference beyond the sub brand. I get it as an American of course you would defend the made in the USA label, but in reality it’s nothing to write home about.
Excellent overview of the product with enough detail to understand the many features. Thanks for the clear, structured & logical easy to understand approach. Great playing also!👍👍👏🎶
Peach: "You can bash this thing around with the knowledge that it's going to remain safe and intact." Me: *Looks at POD 2.0 and FloorBoard in the room and nods sagely*
One thing that is not covered in Bank, Preset or Snapshot mode in the manual that I could not locate was switching between them. There is a long hold on the up and down bank pedal that puts you in mod mode or edit opposed to stepping on those buttons quickly for Snapshot mode.
Great overview, thank you. I just ordered one and have been second guessing about getting the Helix LT instead for more effects and processing power. I'm sure the Pod Go will be more than enough.
I have seen a video where the guy deletes the volume, wah and EQ. Enabling more pedals to be assigned. However I have bought a Delay/Reverb (FX Looped) pedal that frees up DSP to give you access to two more pedals.
It would be helpful to provide what your signal chain for your demo was using, this is lacking on many videos like this on youtube, great playing though
Would this work well for bass? I'm looking for an all in one solution for live gigs direct to FOH using IEM. I know most bass players favour the stomp but I much prefer the simplicity of the POD.
Great Demo video, wonderful demonstration and even greater tones! I was wondering how did you capture the sound of the Unit? Did you run it straight through your Sound Card and then into your DAW or through a mic’ed amp maybe?
There not bad, but the IR loader is quite handy. You get 128 slots in the pod edit software. I noticed sometimes when copying files in blocks of 5 or more sometimes they won't load properly however. The best part is that if your going through a traditional Power amp cab setup you can turn the cab off;or you could essentially "blend" your IR to match with what's coming through your grill. There are different mics too in each cab preset with distancing options. If your using a mic on your cab you could essentially have the sound of two mics also blended. Hope this helps. Cheers.
@@HughManatea Well put. Personally, I pulled the trigger and spent like 25 bucks on the Ownhammer Friedman collection in the Line 6 store (for my HX Edit) and I feel like it's all I'll need. The IR rabbit hole goes all the way down to the center of the earth.
@@budgetguitarist Yeah man it may be the "stripped down helix" , but there are enough options to cause overload still. I am in the same boat I uploaded some IR's from Lancaster audio I think the Mesa boogie 4x12 and it is all I have needed.
hi!!!ordered one but don't really know if it will please me,want to go through my fender supersonic22w!!!what do you think it will be ???DO YOU USE AN AMP OR A PA,,thanks alain what's the better way to get better sounds amp or pa??
Thanks for the video! Pre ordering a pod go soon. There is a red and black guitar at the bottom left (on the wall of guitars behind you) of most of this video, what is that beauty?? I'd love to buy one
Hope this isn't a stupid question but could I use my Acoustic Guitar with this or more specifically, would I plug it into the AUX input, or set up a patch and turn the amp and cab off?
Yeah but how can I run it front of house? I'm trying to go with just this onstage... would I need like a 50 foot XLR to run alllllll the way back to the mixing console??? And what if the sound guy is running an iPad to FOH to control sound how would I fit into that? This is really my primary concern since 90% of me using this will be for gigging purposes to replace my current amp/cab/pedals setup. Kinda is gonna be a deal breaker for me if I can't easily go direct without having really really really really long XLRs. Anybody have any suggestions?
Yeah I'm not an expert in sound engineering, but as far as I know, our sound guy runs everything via 1 multicable anyway, so I presume that the medium doesn't matter, just get the right adapter.
08:30 "pressing action buttons and moving it along", yeah, yeah, I've seen enough. I thought the Headrush pedalboad set the standard a couple of years ago with a reasonable sized touchscreen and a very intuitive user interface. This is a stap back, all progress I see is that they went to a color screen, wow, good job line 6.
I would prefer button and knobs over a touch screen.... touch screens are damn fiddly to use in a live environment. If you're using it in a home setup only then yes a touchscreen is nice. but then you could just connect it to a computer and use the POD Edit software for an even better experience.
Is it possible to just run this in a stomp box mode with an actual amp (no modeling)? Like can you have access to 6 effects at once to use with a clean amp? No one seems to have covered using it as a true pedalboard replacement yet.
Man, that's a great question. My guess would be yes, because you could do that going all the way back to the Floor Pod Plus. BUT on the Floor Pod Plus it was very hard to do without a cheat sheet. I would also love to know the answer to this.
Often times, I would gladly swap a modulation block for the obligatory eq block, or other block. I kind of like compression, OD, delay and verb as standard setup. If the amp model behaves as it should, why am I required to have it in the chain? That loses value, imo.
I didn't hear even one good sound. And that's saying a ton when this guy is playing it. I think the fact that he's selling may be why he didn't address it?
Stewart Cochrane and other guy Remko are of course wrong. I listen to this demo the same way I listened to Peach's other awesome demos. You 2 kids probably just don't have the ears to distinguish the difference between truly excellent tone and the dry and the somewhat artificial tone here. Give it some time and experience, or don't.
@@scottallen9556 Perhaps the tones elicited by Paul Hindmarsh during the NAMM 2020 demo would be more to your liking? Of course, if you simply don't like HX models, then the choice of demo is definitely not going to make a difference. :)

Great job as always Jack...bought one on the strength of your presentation 👏. Turns out even old technoidiots like me can use a POD GO! 😁

I love this unit. Can't wait to keep exploring it.
Outstanding review! Just what I needed to see and hear. Thank you kind sir.
Great playing!!! and great demo. Really helped me

Ive been using Pod XT Live for years now I wanna update to this xD I really like the huge screen and easy editing on the go.
great playing and tones well explained too
Mine arrives either tomorrow or Tuesday - very excited!
Best wishes for having the moment
So, what do you think so far?
Love your reviews mate. Great job. Definitely interested in this. Wish you would smile more though!
I wonder what preset you were using in the ‘country twang’ intro--amp-compressor etc? 😀
Excellent demo. Very informative. Mine is on order
Outstanding presentation..! Thanksalot! :)
Thanks Geof, glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent review
Excelent review!
Id like to see a review from you on Boss GT-1000/ Gt-1000 Core!
Cheers from Portugal 🍺🤘
great demo and great demo guy
Great explanation, much appreciated.

Nice review. Dont know why but I somehow want half of the guitars on the wall behind you
Would this work well for bass? I'm looking for an all in one solution for live gigs direct to FOH using IEM. I know most bass players favour the stomp but I much prefer the simplicity of the POD.
Works great with a bass. It has bass amps such as Ampeg.
Great Demo video, wonderful demonstration and even greater tones! I was wondering how did you capture the sound of the Unit? Did you run it straight through your Sound Card and then into your DAW or through a mic’ed amp maybe?
Can I go online through the app and download sounds from other users just like I can on my Spider 5 amp?
Yes, you can! There is also a marketplace on the website line 6, where you can download tons of presets for free.
Are the stock cabinets really that bad? Do I need to get at least 1 of OWNHAMMER 's IR?
There not bad, but the IR loader is quite handy. You get 128 slots in the pod edit software. I noticed sometimes when copying files in blocks of 5 or more sometimes they won't load properly however. It's a Knaggs SSS XF
Do you stock Dr Z amps, by any chance?
Since there are amp models, is it interesting if you have a good tube amp. Could they work together?
Yeah. You can turn off the amp and cab blocks and just use it as a multi-FX unit if you like. There's all sorts of flexibility built in.
Is this compatible with line 6 guitars
I'm not into the amp sims, but does anyone know if the effects are better than the M9/M13, maybe updated? Also, is the M9 kinda old tech?
So I know this is a POD Go video, but does anyone know what the guitar over his right shoulder (black and red w/ Floyd) is?
Its a Knaggs
Hope this isn't a stupid question but could I use my Acoustic Guitar with this or more specifically, would I plug it into the AUX input, or set up a patch and turn the amp and cab off?
I think you can connect an acoustic, i've seen a video. And yes you can turn them off. The aux is just for backing tracks i think so
I'm checking into modelers, but I notice the high end sounds brittle and the gain has a fizzy artifact. Anyone else notice this?
Yeah but how can I run it front of house? I'm trying to go with just this onstage... would I need like a 50 foot XLR to run alllllll the way back to the mixing console??? But what is the difference between direct XLR and straight amp+cab+microphone+cable combo? Same cable length, just different type of cable :)
Would you just use the XLR from the mic? Admittedly there isn’t a direct xlr connection but seems like most soundmen would have a cable to accommodate
Yeah I'm not an expert in sound engineering, but as far as I know, our sound guy runs everything via 1 multicable anyway, so I presume that the medium doesn't matter, just get the right adapter.
DI box? This is definitely not complicated
This guy rocks

Headrush is $200 more than this. Not worth it! I'll take the POD Go.
at least it's supposed to be Helix sound quality but I'm really liking what I have seen with the Hotone Ampero

Is there a looper on here?
Yes!
Sold.
Can i put my wah into the loop
Yes
if you slap yourself in the face, rub a freshly cut lemon in one eye and squint with the other - this guy could be mistaken for a young Brendan Fraser
If I did that, I don't think I'd be in any position to say who the hell he looked like, I'd be in A&E

Yes you can. Just don't use any amp or cab blocks and add the effects you want. The HX effects may be a better option if all you want is effects.
can i plug this into a Katana artist ? what is the best thing to plug this into ?
Sounds really good. Great explanation! Thanks!!
Thx for the review. What did you play it through or did you go direct to an interface?
I guess direct. Otherwise he wouldn't have the amp and cab in the signal chain.
Correct! All tones were plugged directly in to our recording interface. 🙂
Often times, I would gladly swap a modulation block for the obligatory eq block, or other block. I kind of like compression, OD, delay and verb as standard setup. If the amp model behaves as it should, why am I required to have it in the chain? That loses value, imo.
they coulda gotten away with making it $200 more expensive
Unimpressed
Everything sounds the same 🤔
Too many talking instead of playing
I didn't hear even one good sound. And that's saying a ton when this guy is playing it. I think the fact that he's selling may be why he didn't address it?
Stop listening through your phone's speakers. But if you want an honest review, don't go to a guitar store's ytube channel.
