Even if you need to cut and modify the cage, it is a good starting point to build off of. As all the mounts for everything are where they need to be except the body, so it is a good base. You could probably find stencils or decals for a military theme at hobby lobby over with the models.
It´s a pity the New Bright tyres didn´t work out. They looked just like scale dumper items, which our theoretical mud-truck builder might well have chosen to use. The main thing is to remember that most of your viewers understand that nothing´s set in stone at this stage; watching the project morph over time´s part of the fun of the thing : )
I've had a TFL Bronco for 2 years now. Check the driveshaft (short silver)between the transfer case and the gear box. Notchy/bindy as hell... I got a replacement and that had the same issues.
Good start to a new build, like the color and the body. The body looks too nice to put dents in it. Mud trucks some times start out nice until one or two runs.
I have an SCX10 with a clod-buster body on it I just rolled the front fenders on the front pack to make them look like they were bent and then my tires cleared
Shame I didn't know you had this planned sooner, I have one of those bodies with the bed already chopped out because the previous owner made some really hack inner tubs out of styrene and tar paper, lol. I would look for the SSD version of the scale trans, it holds up to far more abuse in my experience than the r4. GCM's would work too, Chris seems pretty pleased with Flinger.
Man your rides are bad ass and very realistic. Body work and all is insane. But I don't get all the miniature barbie garage stuff. To each his own. Long as it keeps you makn cool rides , keep doin your miniature stuff. Wud love for you to build me a truck or buy one you have. Way cool bro !!
You might be right on the cage, it look's a little bit off at the front and top of the cage by the A panel. Have you thought of going for a 3D printed motor I have seen a few good ones used by other builders on here, might be worth exploring them.
Regarding tires... Have you thought about the TLT-1 tires (part number 9804176) 89mm od, 50 mm wide and 1.6 id. I would think they would stretch that little bit.
Thats not completely accurate. All metal oxide, stainless steel gets a white crust like rust on it. Trust me I'm a welder. And stainless will rust at a slower rate.
White stars , don't cut the body because that will just ruin the look , give the suspension a lift , your smart enough to figure out how to pull that one off and I know you will have one heck of a truck , all the luck to you , see one heck of a truck when it is done .
good chance you'll burn out that 5700kv. i had that exact combo in my slash 4x4 basher and it is too heavy for that motor. castle states that that motor is good for 5lbs and under vehicles. my slash was a bit over 6lbs and it cooked the motor even with a low tooth pinion.
Wait a minute I built a truck chassis almost the same way just a little bit different in the back my chassis I made and hand built is all tube chassis and it’s a 66 GMC 4x4 when I seen the front of your truck it’s I denticle but the back is a bit different who you get the chassis from ???
Of all your videos I have watched I did not know you were in North Texas.. I don’t know how I missed this.. but HOWDY neighbor. Check out the North Texas Scale RC page on FB for events! Would love to meet up some time and drive
Awesome work! Only part 1 and It's already looking sick. 👍

Awesome rig brother!! A lot of the mud trucks I've seen don't have grills. Also the radiator is in the rear. Mad science at it's best once again!!!

How to turn 139.99 into 1.39. lol
Looking like a project.
Why not powder coat the frame and misc other metal parts..?
He said he'll not going full insane on it. Guess he chose the more affordable way

No I’m not selling it anymore.
Today I build a tt02 type s tamiya race car.. What a shit long build
I thought it was a real truck question is it gonna be gas
Lol you stole Cleetus Mcfarlands catch phrase "bog deep"
5700 kv is way overkill. 3800 would be better.
