It was definitely manufactured by Maxon, probably around the same time as my Maxon HP 450i for NMT 450 networks. Display, charger plug and battery are the same (NMT version didn't have a pull-out antenna but the battery still has that groove which is supposed to accommodate it)
As old as that battery is, I’ll be surprised if it still takes a charge after being stored new in the box for so long, and the water damage doesn’t seem to of disrupted the phone in any way.
Hi Mark, nice phone and video again as always!!! But, did you forget about my last mail? Would be nice to read again from you and maybe meet up when you are pasing by my hometown on one of your trips! cheers mate!
Hi. NO I Haven't forgotten about you. I have just had some very busy times with a few problems. I'm in America at the moment so not likely I'll be driving by your hometown soon! ....maybe later in the year.
To be honest startacs aren't really for sale much any more....it's a very old phone so your best bet would be the second hand market....try craigslist or ebay or car boot sales. If you get a cheap startac you may need to unlock it which isn't a problem generally...i can help with that. I know that you can still get new good batteries for startacs so they can still be used as your day to day go to phone if you want.
No....I never owned a cellphone store. I just used to buy any phone that I didn't have in my collection that I thought at the time was worth having. Of course that was many years ago.....I don't buy any phones nowadays to add to my collection....although occasionally I swap with other elite (1000+ phones) collectors like me. Why do you ask?? do I seem to have a never ending supply of phones??? LOL. :-)

Don't throw them away. You might have something someone wants. Where are you located?
