I have.....neither of these. I found an Elite sitting in my local thrift shop and got it for $10. I descaled it and it's been brewing perfect coffee ever since.
For YEARS I've railed against the Mighty Keurig and those ridiculous AND expensive K-Kups. To the point where I've been brewing my coffee old school in a stove top perculator for the past 4 years. It was messy, I always had grounds in my cup and those damned PERC tops would always break, shatter and eventually disintegrate. What I didn't know, was that I could still grind my own coffee and use a Keurig with that special reusable K-Kup. I broke down a couple months ago and got the Walmart Special Express and I'm now a convert. No more grounds in my coffee, fast and small enough for my Motorhome. I’ve been watching your coffee videos all day. Very informative! Learning a lot. I enjoy the videos and your enthusiasm for coffee and coffee machines. Plus, your voice is very soothing. Thank you!!
You're making the mini sound more complicated than necessary. Take your cup, fill with water, fill the reservoir and Bobs your uncle, you have the perfect fill to fill the cup you're using. I always use strong brew, otherwise kcups are blah. I have (not sure because my top has multiple needles and the reservoir moves to the side) but one like it. I appreciate so much the side by side review. #2 is interesting to me. Thanks Dad!
+ Lynda Young The mini is easy when it works. Every other time it stops taking water from the reservoir after about 1/3, and it doesn't continue draining the reservoir until it brews. You end up with weak, lukewarm coffee. I have more then one and they both do it. I think there is a design flaw and Keurig should fix it. Meanwhile, I have a 60 year-old electric GE percolator that still works just fine.

first thanks so much for doing what you do!!! sounds like you might need to put the Keurig into High altitude mode when you are in the mountains. when you are at a high elevation water boils at a much lower temp so the Keurig will produce a bunch of steam and not much hot water. I got my K-express this week to replace my just recently purchased K supreme that ended up performing terribly. For $139 it was the worse coffee maker I’ve owned. The K- express is absolutely phenomenal and truly makes great tasting coffee!! It also hasn’t not produced what seemed to be a normal fine ground residue in the coffee like my other models had. You did a great review and I am absolutely loving the Express!!

Thanks for watching and your kind words!!! That was so nice of you to take the time and leave such a nice comment. Your kind words really do mean so much!!! I am so glad it helped and this is the reason I do my Videos To Help Others!!!! What is your favorite K cup?
On the K mini plus, you're making it harder than it should be. I have a measuring cup that very clearly shows the 12oz level. When I pour the water in the coffee maker and start the brew process, I take my measuring cup to my water outlet on my refrigerator and fill it to the 12oz level again so it's ready for the next time. I too don't like water sitting in a water holder for who knows how long and I don't know of anybody who lets a Keurig water tank drain to empty before refilling it, I know I never did (I've had several Keurig machines over the years). And you gloss over the 'Strong' button. I use that for any kcup that is medium or light roast while I don't use it for dark roast kcups. I'm old and if I can tell the difference at least some other people should be able to taste the difference as well. I'm coming late to the game but Keurig has just released (it seems) in August 2021 called the Keurig K-Express Coffee Maker. And it's NOT the one you mention in you review as being sold only at Walmart. Since it's new, it's hard to find even on amazon and Keurig's own web site. And NO I don't work for Keurig (or anybody for that matter, I've been retired for many years), I just received an email from Keurig about it but I don't think you can even search for it on their own website as of today (08/23/2021) Good wishes and blessings to all.
Those are great tips and pointers for using the K mini plus. I just did not take the time to figure it out like I should have. The one thing I like about it is that I took it on vacation and put it into a backpack. that was so nice. Thanks for the information on the New K express. I just ordered it off the Keurig web site. I will be doing lots of videos on it and compare it to the walmart express. What is your favorite K cup? and is it fun being retired I have like 10 more years and I can not wait.

I have a mr coffeee pot and usually pour for 4 cups and use 2 tbsp grounds but not having to dump the filter and empty the pot and then wash the filter housing and pot is nice.. i used to make a full pot in winter and then use a thermos but half of it ended up getting poured out after a 12 hour period.. these are a perfect fit, by the time i warm up some creamer in the microwave and get my coffee mug out the unit is almost done dispensing my coffee.. An added bonus is my gf and our 6 year old drink hot cocoa so we can get some k cups for them as well.
Thank you. I bought a Mini a little over a year ago. I’m so done with Keurig. I’ve taken care of it with cleaning, I certainly don’t abuse it in any way. It had begun to make odd noises and I could live with that but now the water just doesn’t want to come out. A friend of mine had the same model and hers didn’t last even a year. Maybe we had a bad batch, a lemon. Not sure but I think I’ll go back to a smell 4 cup Mr. Coffee or something else. I bought mine because it was Keurig and it was pink. Not Happy with mine. 🌞
I just got an almost new Keurig from my neighbor, so I have been watching your videos. I don't have any instructions. It's the K Compact, the old one. I decided to buy the reusable pods, filters and the scoop that you demonstrated. Now I'm ready to start but I'm confused about one thing. Why are there different cup sizes when the pod size only holds so much coffee grounds? Wouldn't a large cup be watered down? Also, will the machine stop at whichever cup size I pick? 6oz for a small cup no matter how much I fill the tank? Seems basic but it is not clear to me. You have the best videos and the only one I found that told me what the small, medium and large was in ounces! Thank you! I'll make my first cup of coffee in the morning.
I thought the same thing, why so many sizes, I guess everyone has different taste, but K cups only hold 2 tablespoons of coffee so 8oz is just right for me, Yes a 10oz brew is watered down for me, yes the water tank is just the to draw water from .. the machine will brew what ever size you select. Thanks so much for you kind words!
Thank you. I tried it this morning with an 8 oz cup. I used the middle cup size and only got a half cup of coffee. I left the cup there and did it again on small. It over ran the cup of course, but not a lot. The second cup of coffee I used the large 10 Oz size to brew and it was perfect. So I seem to be getting 2 ounces less than what I should. I like it and easy cleanup. My friend who gave it to me said she only used it for a few times and it has been sitting for a long time. I washed it up and ran water through it before brewing. I've heard that water can sit in the device and cannot be emptied. Any suggestions to get the amount it says or does it usually run less than the amount stated? I can see that I may want to upgrade at some point. I only drink 1-2 cups in the morning.
I have a question here... What is the difference between the "Walmart" K-Express thats $50 and the "Keurig" website K-Express thats $80? The only thing I can tell is that its just a different design/look and if that is the case why is there a $30 price difference? Is one machine better than the other?
@@JustADad I’m not sure yet, I just bought the K-Express thanks to your reviews. I’m not an avid coffee drinker, but I like the idea being able to drink it at home when I want to. Any K Cup recommendations?
This is our second K-Classic. We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.
Really good comparison. I was wanting to know the difference between the Express and the Slim. I usually brew 12oz so that leaves the Express out. I wish the Slim was as fast as the Express though.
@@JustADad I didn't realize this before but there are two different Express versions. The one that isn't exclusive to Walmart does have a 12oz setting. It's on the way from Amazon. 👍 Update: The new Express works great. I didn't know that 'express' means that it doesn't have to warm up first before it starts brewing. 👍 And love that it has the Strong button. Curious thing is that I have to use to 10oz setting now instead of the 12oz.
You are funny you keep saying this one, this one and this one, I had to re watch several times to get the name of this one . Suggestion put a name card in front of each. Anyway still love you
Great Question. The slim is a nice coffee maker. Some people do say that Keurig's taste like water down coffee. I kind of thought that at first but the more I use them the more I do think they brew a good cup of coffee. Keurig's let you decide how many ounces to brew through the k cup. The normal amount is 8oz and to some that might seemed water down. if you find that to be the case then you can brew it at 6oz. the k slim smallest size you can brew is an 8oz so you might consider the k express from walmart it will do a 6 or 8oz brew.
That is a great Question!! you just gave me a great idea for a video! I looked back at my old videos and the Single needles Keurig's machines are a little easier to use. The K Classic, The K Cafe, The K express, The k select, The K slim and the K elite are all good choices. The K Supremes with 5 needles are good but you are limited to what cup to use. You have to use the Keurig My K cup reusable k cup. ua-cam.com/video/TUUz5_7VHO8/v-deo.html
I have the k slim and the k express, I LOVE the K express, I handed the slim down to the kids for hot chocolate in the “hang out room” both are great, but the Express brews fast and great size options!
+ borg386 Yes, the mini works about 2/3 of the time or it stops taking water and then takes the rest when it starts to brew. So it takes cold water from the tank and gives you lukewarm coffee.
I am the only one who drinks coffee at my house and I literally have one cup a day so the Mini Plus is a good option, plus I dont want a water reservoir with water sitting there for a day or two getting stale,
I really enjoyed this one. Haveng them all side by side running together. I'm also curious did you run them on separate circuits. all of them are amazing and they all at least serve a cup of coffee.😀
I can usually run 2 Keurigs on one 20 amp circuit, anymore than 2 then it trips the breaker. so I ran an extension cord in from another room. Thanks for watching!!
Stay away from the Mini until Keurig decides to fix it. It stops taking water before brewing and then drains the reservoir at brew time, making cold coffee. We bought more than one and they all seem to do it.

@@JustADad I didn't realize this before but there are two different Express versions. The one that isn't exclusive to Walmart does have a 12oz setting. It's on the way from Amazon. 👍
Update: The new Express works great.
Anyway still love you
Sorry about that, I should do that. I need to add more words to my video's. thanks for the feedback!!!
Are these the only 4 coffee makers that keurig makes?
No they make several more. these are the ones under a $100 bucks
Should I buy the k slim because I heard the cofee tastes watered down?
Great Question. The slim is a nice coffee maker. Some people do say that Keurig's taste like water down coffee. I kind of thought that at first but the more I use them the more I do think they brew a good cup of coffee. Keurig's let you decide how many ounces to brew through the k cup. The normal amount is 8oz and to some that might seemed water down. if you find that to be the case then you can brew it at 6oz. the k slim smallest size you can brew is an 8oz so you might consider the k express from walmart it will do a 6 or 8oz brew.
Which is best express or express essentials?
express essentials, more colors and it has a 6oz button. and cheaper
You mentioned the k mini plus has a different tech, could you clarify?
I made a video on it. ua-cam.com/video/w5CDJRyo4wk/v-deo.html
Which one is the best to use your own coffee with ?
Thanks for sharing!!
I had the mini for about 6 months, and it died. Sometimes it worked, and sometimes it did not. Very unreliable.
But it was nice when it did work.
Thanks for the update
+ borg386 Yes, the mini works about 2/3 of the time or it stops taking water and then takes the rest when it starts to brew. So it takes cold water from the tank and gives you lukewarm coffee.
Can you use a reusable pod thing on the two machines in the middle?
ua-cam.com/video/LnbKzPETf3s/v-deo.html yes it works great.

I did buy the k express mini..does it need a water filter?
No you can use these just fine without the water filter, it just helps with the taste.
@@JustADad thaaaaaats what I was lookin 4 lol,I just got 1 and no filter came with it.(slim single).
Which is your favorite Keurig machine as of today?
Great Question. I love the Keurig K Supreme Plus. I also like the K Duo PLus. but for the price the Keurig K-Express is hard to beat.
I want get Keurig coffee maker
The Keurig k Express is a good one to start with.
Can the new K-Express use the carbon water filters?
Yes, I did a video on it also ua-cam.com/video/kGKVanN_J3U/v-deo.html
To see on amazon amzn.to/3eBn6uy
I love my K-express
yep that is a great coffee maker
Which one makes better coffee I don't care about how much water it holds.
K-Express
@@JustADad thank you
what about temperature of coffees ?????
Sorry I should have added that
I am the only one who drinks coffee at my house and I literally have one cup a day so the Mini Plus is a good option, plus I dont want a water reservoir with water sitting there for a day or two getting stale,
That is a great point, thanks for sharing. The mini is a nice coffee maker.
What is your favorite K cup?
You gonna drink that coffee right?😁
I did put some in the ice box for later.
Wish I had smell-vision lol
So the most expensive one is the slowest and least convenient? That's a curious marketing strategy.
I thought the same thing, but it looks the best and takes up the least amount of room and is the most portable.
What is your Favorite coffee?
@@JustADad I prefer the Dunkin Donuts regular, but that's what I grew up on in New England: "Dunkies" coffee. =)
@@gerrypower9433 That is what I am drinking now Dunkin. how long has it been around?
@@JustADad founded in 1950 in Quincy, MA! They've sold a LOT of coffee!
👍
You are a Keurig Dad
THANKS FOR WATCHING AND THOSE KIND WORDS!!!!
Stay away from the Mini until Keurig decides to fix it. It stops taking water before brewing and then drains the reservoir at brew time, making cold coffee. We bought more than one and they all seem to do it.
Good to know!
Just your 24 year old trying to learn lol
Nice, and welcome to the world of Coffee!!! Thanks for sharing part of your coffee Journey!! I love to hear everyone's coffee story!!!
Which one are you getting?
