SK8EVERYTHING 4EVER I was reccomended that 2 days ago and it was excellent and this pops up and I find out he passed. I admit I didn't really know who he was (growing up far from the States) but from what I'm learnig this guy's a legend. Between the parks he's built and the amount of people he's inspired/trained to build means his legacy will live on for a long time.

I'm back on the board at 51...never was any good in '77...I'm trying to catch up on 40 years of skate history. The Love letters certainly helps a lot. I first saw Mark on KOTR a couple years back and immediately knew he was a great person. I'm truly bummed for family and friends. I don't know what happened but it was way too soon. "That's what skateboarding IS. Work at your own pace, do your own thing. You'er not competing against anyone else but yourself, your own time...don't even care if yer good or not..." That's the essence Of why I got back into it. RIP Ripper, artist, musician, good human.

Grindline built my home park in the middle of fucking nowhere in West Virginia. It was what took my skating to the next level and helped form our crew that still rides together today at almost 30. RIP Mark. Thanks for what you gave us.

It’s crazy to think in the realist sense, he may have been the guy who spread skateboarding farther and to more places than anyone else. Shows you, just grab your shit, go do it, and if you take pride in your work, others will want to be apart of that, because we as people want to be apart of something bigger than ourselves. So thank you mark for inspiring by doing and being unapologetically yourself.

Knowing who he was has changed my life and I am forever grateful for it. Grindline is such a great band. He was an obvious artist. He is. Thank you so much my dude. That guy was awesome. Most of us never take the initiative to build the things we want, so were left with what were given. Me and my friends would always be building ramps to skate in the late 80's, and it was always so fun to take that first skate on the thing you just built. If it sucked, that was on you, and you had motivation to make it better the next time. RIP to Hubbard.

The first time I ever heard of Mark was late 80’s.. Another skater at Ranquets ramp was like.. Dude, this guy is so gnarly.... Mark was cruisin’ w a car load of skaters, passin’ cars on I-5 using the grass median between the north & southbound lanes.. traffic goin 65mph, Hubbard goin 70 on grass.. He was always a No-Fear dude.. always up for the next stunt. But we all miss Mark and all I can say is God broke the mold when he made this individual.

What a rad human being! His words and thoughts on skating epitomize why myself and countless others will always skate after so many years of surgeries, being mocked or told by doctors, family members, ex's, employers, cops, random citizens etc that we should quit or we're wasting our time on a "toy". The parks, ideas he helped build and inspiration he gave have brought so many endless fun and his contribution to skaters worldwide is beyond words. Thank you for that, shred on homie! 🍻
