People will be complaining in comments section while I'm just sitting here and watching a great guitar player pay homage to a guitar god that was taken from us too soon. RIP Dime, was fortunate enough to have visited his grave during Thanksgiving this year. Great video and Getcha Pull!
@kiki the gerbil tone is harder to get if you don't know how to control signal chains, scooping mids, gain, etc. I use IRs in my rig so frequencies matter too
Partially because hes using EMGs also doesn't sound like hes tuned 1/4 step down (a lot of pantera is played like this). But yeah no ones fingers can make an axe sing long Dimes could
I had a guitar lesson vhs lesson from this guy in the late 80s early 90s he had long brown curly hair I wish I could remember the name I watched it a million times lol
We use to go see Pantera play as a cover band at The Ritz Rock n Roll on Harry Hines Blvd. in Dallas back in the early 80's. He was Diamond Darrell then.
Damn Diamond Darrell was a monster player. Loved the early Pantera stuff. He was only a teen and was up there with EVH and the rest. Probably the best teenage 80’s guitar player ever
@George Ricketts Nothing wrong with deep cuts. There are some deep ones already on the list, like Regular People and Grind That Axe, not to mention the Damageplan ones. Heresy is one of my faves off the Cowboys album. That harmonic run into the main riff is so freakin' cool!
This guy is pretty awesome! I saw him live at the WAAF indoor beach party early 2005. Entire show was dedicated to Dimebag. Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society headlined and Vinnie Paul went on stage and played suicide Messiah. Rest in peace Vinnie and Dime, see you when I get there!
He played the riffs differently because he isn't Dime, nor was the challenge here to imitate Dime's tone. Nick is paying homage to a friend and legend so everyone in the comments needs to catch a grip. Killer playing though, Dime would be proud! 90% of the comments section probably doesn't even come close to playing this good.
I agree, the guy is having fun playing some of his favorite tunes, while honoring Dime! I can't play like Jimmy Page, but that doesn't mean I can't pick up a guitar and play some Zeppelin!
Beautiful. A real treat to hear! I’m just now bracing for all the “You’re playing them all wrong “ and the “the tone sucks”comments that are on the way.
Nice tribute. I always wonder how dimes playing would have progressed if he was a live today. Melts my brain when I think about how many good riffs he wrote. Some people get maybe 2 good albums then everything they do after that sounds the same.
he shouldve used the IK multimedia CFH software, closest you can get to dimes tone on CFH and some of the later stuff. and it was created with the help of dimes audio tech
lol...you have your own sound in it which is nice..it has a Grim Reaper feel to it (less palm muting). its a great homage. See you in Hell my Friend. I ride the tornado slide and access the arcade at Sweetwater because i live 32 miles away. If you actually work at Sweetwater HQ...im fucking impressed. Its a lovely place. You better be on the Wall as far as employees when i show up next week or im busting you out.lol To be honest...Grim Reaper introduced me to good metal when i was 10-11 back in 84. See You in Hell inspired Dime and many others..im gonna check the wall at Sweetwater Ft Wayne..ill report back..lol
hay guess what people, not even Dime played them perfectly every time, so get off your fucking high horses and just celebrate the fact that Dime is loved just as much now as he ever was, each riff brought back some great memory's from hearing them when they first released them

That break down from Revolution is My Name could have easily replaced Walk XD
It doesn't matter if he plays it good or bad, he's honoring a friend of his. Respect. Walk.
Chris E. I agree, thanks for the insight.
U play them if u so concerned
@@alfonzomoore4341 he can't,that's why he is bitching on youtube
@@alfonzomoore4341 LoL. I know right! The ppl who leave comments like that probably cant do what they are criticizing.

Dime would be proud and glad Texas guitarist is bringing people together. This is what he always wanted RIP Dimebag
The Art Of Shredding has plenty of great riffs, it has to be my favourite
Grim reaper❤️
A great band. Love their 2 first albums.
Good but the tone is way off, however it’s basically impossible to duplicate dimes tone.
It's probably more because he's going through a £300 amp and playing the riffs wrong with weird timings
And he chokes out every palm-muted note, but that's ok, his love for the legend kind of makes up for it..
@kiki the gerbil tone is harder to get if you don't know how to control signal chains, scooping mids, gain, etc. I use IRs in my rig so frequencies matter too

Dimes tone isnt hard to duplicate with the right gear and knowledge of how his tone was created. And with technology now almost anyone can come close.
I don’t know why nick calls himself a bad guitar player he sounds really good he always has
I miss Dime & his crazy internet videos. RIP Legend
Awsome to see another left handed player! Killer playing and great tribute!
Nick is extremely underrated! One of his best work is "The show must go on."
I had a guitar lesson vhs lesson from this guy in the late 80s early 90s he had long brown curly hair I wish I could remember the name I watched it a million times lol
I got Nicks pick back in the day 1987 Grimm Reaper, Armored Saint, Helloween. ..still got it.
I remember when Dimebag Darrell was Diamond Darrell

This was f*!king amazing. I loved every second of it. Thank you for uploading.
Is he left handed or am I dumb?
It's nice to see more lefty's!
Nick you are a legend brother...
And we're all headbanging while listening to this. You're at least nodding & you know it.
Nick Bowcott is actually my guitar teacher. I’m actually good friends.
Nice and sweet guitar
where is heresy...that riff is killer

Heresy and Art of Shredding super underrated
A New Level!!!🎸🤘
That's a rad dime sticker he has
Dylan Vogel nick actually has a tattoo of Dime on his left arm I right arm. Left when you him play
Its no a sticker it hand painted on both guitars.
Many thanks for enjoyable tribute.
The most important about it, it’s done by another artist who knows and appreciate what Dimebag did to metal.
Good job. Still love Nick's work on the first two Grim Reaper albums.
R.I.P Dime
I remember Dave Mustaine once tweeting that Nick Bowcott is the new Dimebag.
I had no idea… Nick was from Grim Reaper till now ❤
Man got skillz! Getcha pull! 333! 🤘
those drum samples, oh my dear lord there so bad
Yes. The drums are indeed terrible. The guitar tone and the playing is....nevermind.
Yes! A fellow lefty kick ass dude!
I'm triggered that he's playing Dimebag with a British themed guitar
'muricaaaa, heeelll yeaaahh brother
He is British
It's really weird seeing Dimebag on a guitar with a British flag on it.
Yeah he got the wrong flag on it
Nathaniel Goritski this is METAL ffs, not politics nor a petty Trump-endorsed nationalist contest.
GETCHA FKN PULL❤🖤🤘
FUCKIN 'AY 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Keep on keepin on and listening to Pantera 🤘🤘🤘
Nick where was the outro to floods that is epic, how could you miss that off?

oh and he shouldve ran a SH13 in the bridge.
loved his take on 5 minutes. it was not tne same, but really good in a different way
I see him all the time with Hell came home!!
What was the riff at 3:58
"5 minutes alone" from the Album "Far beyond driven"
