- Who is the threat? Is it Duncan? Daltos? Surely not Lewis, he's not the threat at all. Not a good game for Lewis this game, for sure. Barely hanging on. Poor guy.

Duncan willingly saves Daltos from extinction. Daltos pretty much instantly turns on him. No good deed goes unpunished.
I cant understand why Daltos just keeps hearing Lewis build all thesewonders, get further and further ahead, but is just hyperfixated on pointlessly attacking the guy who saved him because "muh tourism" even though Lewis is ahead on that too.
@@radnaaarDaltos is farming Duncan as Daltos went down the Honour tree and so is getting a lot out of killing Duncan’s units. That’s why he says he’s moving up on the scoreboard, the war is helping him.

Daltos was the original threat, Lewis attacked him, Duncan saved Daltos, and fought Lewis back.
Then the status quo returned.
@HALLish-jl5mo Which was strategically a good idea to prevent Lewis from practically doubling in size. However, as usual, Daltos does something stupid like wage war on Duncan who's and let Lewis climb. I understand trying to stall his culture victory but he's spend far too long effectively being a shitty troll because he's gained fuck all for his efforts.

I judge him for using it all the time. I switch in and out of it throughout the game when I wanna spot out good tiles. Theres difference boxes you can tick, like one where it highlights tiles with different resources, different colours depending on if it's strategic or luxury or just regular sheep's or cattle type ones. Which is really good for seeing the ideal places to settle, and there's lots of other cool stuff like that you can do with it if you play arround.
Lewis casually buying 41 tourism in 1 turn is a nice flex. :D
Meanwhile Kirsty is sitting on almost 5k gold that she could pump into Spudulike and other places.
Most experienced player vs least experienced player
Kind of funny how she's on the rise to stumbling into a diplomatic victory.
Kirsty getting a diplo victory is the only good ending
Rythian with like 3 gatling guns in his entire land. How does he always get away with this? Even the AI would attack him and roll him.
Lucky Spawn area. In old Civ V games Rythian would actually get rolled over if he spawned next to an aggressive player. 😂
He gets away with it by playing the aggrieved nice guy card.

Hey guys, loving the vids as always, glad to see some fresh blood in the game aswell.
Regarding Rythians story about the guy who ate the slug and died, I though he survived? there was a post on reddit about it a few weeks ago, lived in Australia, friends dared to eat a slug, he did, within minutes he collapsed and went into a coma, he came out of it but is effectively paralyzed and will likely spend his life in a wheelchair.
The point still stands though, don't eat random animals, especially in Australia.
He survived for a year or so in a coma, before dying.
He died recently :( Lived paralysed for a bit afterwards.
Also it wasn't the slug itself that was the issue, it was some kind of parasite in the slug that then got into his brain.

finally come back to civ after so many years, binge everything and holy crap duncan cries about everything if hes not winning. A LOT more than everyone else

That's far but at least puts effort in, he tries to win. Kirsty is definitely mvp given her experience level and how well she's doing considering. Would love to see more people like herself, new people, shaking things up. I know it's the yogs but it's nice to see a little competition, as in people actually try. That said Spiff and Potato are too much, they try too hard. Rythian's a turtle but that's no harm and well Lewis is in the same place as usual. Speaking of the same place Daltos clearly hasn't learned anything despite his practice with his useless/pointless war. Where he just tanks himself and someone else just because, there's not even a comedy element to it even.
Loving this series! I really hope to see something out of Kirsty or Rythian to shake up the end game!
Hopefully these wars won't end so prematurely in the rest of the game. People need to go full hog or not at all. Dalton needs more strategic maneuvering rather than sending a trickle through the same lanes constantly.
I feel like they should do a game with diplo vic on, HOWEVER ONLY the LOWEST SCORE gets to win by it. It means last place has meaning in the game to the end
Lewis continues to speed away with a huge science lead over Rythian who with twice as many cities is producing 100 less science. Duncan doesn't realize that Daltos is benefiting hugely from this stalemate war as he gets a big chunk of gold science and culture every time he bombards another unit that Duncan sends into the firing line single file. Is it enough to catch up with lewis? Of course not. But it's 100% in his interest to keep the war going for as long as the status quo holds. Rythian and Kirsty, meanwhile, might as well be playing a single player game with how little they've interacted with the rest of the world.
Playing Sim City with everyone else is basically Rythian's ideal Civ Game so you can't blame him.

@@okram2k Rythian is coming in a comfortable second place currently and isn't all that behind Lewis in terms of tech or overall strength. This is arguably Rythian's strongest civ game in terms of his position in the game. Of course it's entirely propped up by not having to spend any gold or science on a military but that's just the kind of advantage Rythian needs to keep up since he's not the best at warfare.
Let's just hope that Lewis doesn't realise this and shatters the glass house that Rythian has made, at least before Rythian can nuke things.
You guys joked about people licking uranium, but the Romans used uranium ore to season their food. A very expensive seasoning, also uranium is not green, though the ore is sometimes yellow.

The silver lining of Daltos tryharding and backstabbing is that he isn't talking very much, so at least that's something.

Petition to replace Daltos in future games?
He keeps spewing wisdom on how to win the game, then never wins, and drags someone into pointless forever wars and hands the win to someone else.
I like him but he admits the war is pointless and just keeps on grinding them both down while the bigger threat gets ignored.
I'd much rather see Lewis sit a few games out. Nobody else has the skill to actually try winning when he's in these games because his skill level is so much higher than theirs.
Alternatively have Duncan sit out a few games. When he gets lucky with a good start and snowballs he without fail becomes a warmonger and throws his weight around like Lewis. When he has a bad start he spends the whole game whining or becomes someone's toady.
he's gone honor, it's in his interest to fight a war. he can't win against lewis, Kirsty and rythian are too far away, so it just leaves Duncan.
