I'm from Turin! I love my city and its history and I saw the Shroud once when I was little. The chapel in which it's normally conserved is a masterpiece of Piedmontese baroque by architect Guarino Guarini, commissioned by the duke Carlo Emanuele of Savoy in 1611-1667. One thing that makes this very underestimated city of Italy famous is indeed the Shroud.
@@ven1805 correct. The FIAT industries were here. At some point they failed and they messed them up, but they were still an important part of the history of this city and Italy. Now FIAT doesn't exist anymore, it's been bought by a series of other bigger, more successful foreign car brands
Had exactly the opposite reaction. Brian seemed preoccupied with his notes and talking points. Frankly he seemed impatient at times with the enthusiastic guest. It's an age thing. When you get to the last of your competent years--and dwindling time is at the forefront of your thoughts--you are rushed to get it all out, what you've learned, what's important to know. A joyful brain dump while the mechanism still works. Brian is at the center of his intellectual/soul pursuits. Measured and focused, keeping a complex life in hand. All appropriate, if in this case a tad rude to my eyes. As I said, it's an age thing.
@@dannybaseball2444 going on almost 90 years, brain still sharp as a tack, I fully understand what you are saying, Mr. Dan. I have stood very close to the Shroud, twice in my long life. Awesome, beautiful, inspiring, holy. And I do love Brian, he is so ....NOW.
I'm 76 and long since accepting of the dispelling medieval theory and haven't given this a second thought since. I am amazed and taken aback by this information.
I was suspicious of the authenticity of the shroud until I saw the radiographic evidence. Having a background in radiology, I realized this was proof positive this man was the resurrected Christ!!!
The thing is fake. It is proven. The dating proved it to be a fake. The weave was not from the first century. Only one team was ever allowed to examine it. There were multiple shrouds claimed to be those from Jesus. One was even claimed to have performed miracles but was later discovered to be Muslim.
@@DaveCM he talked about this in this video. When it was carbon dated, the sample they took was from the part where the shroud was repaired after being damaged in a fire around the 11th century,. Watch the video dude, then comment.
The first time I read about this research was in a magazine called unexplained, in the early 80s (I was 13 or 14 years of age) in Belfast, Ireland. The magazine consisted of various stories about ESP, UFOs and the Shroud of Turin. It was around 11pm when I started reading about the Shroud, the house was empty apart from an elderly aunt and myself. The house was part of a terrace block and anyone who would visit , would do this from the front door. A strange thing occurred as I read the story about the shroud, a feeling of euphoric elation came over me, a feeling that I was reading about something that was profoundly sacred. But at the very same moment the outside door handle at the back of the house started to rattle as if someone or something wanted into the house. This movement of the door handle persisted for about a minute, then stopped. When I walked to the door no one was there. Considering no one used that back door particularly if they were visiting and because of the late hour, the event was more than unsettling, it was quite frightening. There seemed like a supernatural element to the whole event, something I can't shake off all these years after.
Stay away from the aliens for they are demonic entities. Watch in the morning the video UFOs, nephilim Giants, and the early church fathers by defeat modernism.
Having stood directly in front of this beautiful image, twice, just 10 feet away, you have absolutely no IDEA what it’s like, until you have done the same. I don’t use the word awsome often, very few awsome things for me. Terrific, beautiful, wonderful , but NEVER awsome. THIS IS AWSOME. Human words cannot describe this. My Lord is so creative.
"A picture is worth (more than) 1000 words." The Shroud is indeed the real deal. So is this: "The Book of God" at A Course in Truth. I'm the prophesied return of Elijah. But you shouldn't believe that, since you don't have good reason to. But it will take less than 10 minutes for you to read "The Book of God" online...and see if that doesn't "blow your mind." You are blessed.
I am very pleased to have stumbled across this, I followed the work back in the seventies, as a teen in high school, and throughout, and always considered the "evidence" of fake must have been taken from "the repaired section", despite denials throughout the years. I'd studied the pictures in the museum, copies probably, and in magazines, Pop. Mechanics, Science, Discover, and considered it absolute, from my own perspective. It was clear to me, from simply the magazine pictures of the seventies, the vast difference between the original, and the repaired material, it was well dated by history, fire repairs and such, so this is vindicating the Shroud finally, in public, open. I'm a Christian, wasn't at the time, although a believer, just stubborn, and am pleased it's still being fought, it always demonstrates the resistant to the "old truths", which I saw at three, six, in Spain and Italy, a "navy brat", walking through history with elder sister, and Librarian Mom, I'm very pleased to see this brought out like this. Thank you very much. Semper Fidelis, John McClain, GySgt, USMC, ret.
It’s sad that there are so many articles out there that claim the Shroud is a fake, and they use sources that they misrepresent to suggest it’s fake. This interview has been an eye opener! Thank you
@@therealatheistexperience7654 Logically nothing could have because he was not created. I say this as if it were a proven fact, but it's not, of course, materially provable. It's logically demonstrable, however. There are only two options open to us; either we accept SOME uncreated creator, OR we accept the notion of infinite energy. That is to say, as Aristotle said, all created things must, by definition, have a creator. As you yourself note, this continues ad infinitum. You have parents, have parents, have parents, back through evolution until we have the first life on earth, which was created by free carbon, which was created by atmosphere around the earth, etc, back to the big bang. This is fairly standard secular thought, right? So we can either suppose that the big bang was caused by something that existed in advance of it; or it was there before anything. But if it regresses infinitely, how can it not progress infinitely? And if we accept an infinite big bang, how is that meaningfully different from a creator, from the limited perspective of natural logic? So then we proceed further, and we suppose some other infinite creative force, which in a series of creations, was not itself created. Now I hear many people say that they could imagine a universe which goes on infinitely; the big bang theory fails to support this, given that the universe continues to accelerate outward and shows no signs of potential retraction. But this operates by the same theory as the infinite energy machine, which powers itself indefinitely. Science has derided and will continue to deride such things as a physical impossibility, and I'm inclined to agree with that assessment. But then, whence motive creation in the universe?

It's amazing, the photographer validated the shroud in every aspect that he talks about but yet is so stubborn that he doesn't want to believe his own findings.
He does believe. He openly says it's Jesus. What is your point? Does he have to call him God or something? That is NOT going to happen. His JOB was to prove or disprove the Shroud. He, and many many others, PROVED it is authentic.
I love Barrie Schwortz! He *will* come home eventually...prayer will do the rest. :D In the meantime, I think the fact that he's *not* yet a Christian lends his research and his website more credibility. God knows what He's doing.
Hundreds of generations of humans have lived and died saying "he's coming back soon, no, really he is this time!" Christians are the most gullible humans on the planet.
I saw a documentary on the various speculations how an image like this could have been made/ emerged. One of them said this was made in the moment of the resurrection as an unimaginably strong light emanated from the body itself. I am very much drawn to this idea and the explanations seemed to hold together very neatly. I cannot understand why there is such silence, almost embarrassment, around the Shroud. Everybody drops it like a hot potato when it has been proven time and time again that this is not a forgery.
I heard the light emitted theory. I've always wondered why the hair and beard would emit light. It's dead protein cells. The body I get why it might emit radiation, but hair?
@@allenanderson4911 There is dna there - Our Lord DNA. We are talking about a divine person, I'd say this is not simply "dead protein cells", it's divine protein cells.
I've come across that one too. That the amount of light was way beyond our capacity to recreate even with our most advanced technology. There is also a video out there that used the shroud to generate a 3D composite of Christ's body. Where they estimated over 600~800 wounds to his body. May have been the same documentary actually.

I have been reading about the Holy Shroud since I was a child, (I am 80 years old). I was fascinated by the story of the first photo by the Italian photographer. The camera was a fairly new contraption at that time and the first photo that was made of the Shroud did reveal the first miracle.
Great format! I love your monologues. Still, interviews here and there, focusing on topics like this help build one's imagination in their beliefs. Loved this presentation. I'm thankful for this man's work and testimony. Sadly the "Jesus-as-a-brave guy-who-died-for-what-he-belived-in" as the highest praise he can muster is a flat note to any Christian. As C.S. Lewis said about the notion that Christ was a great teacher and that's enough, "It's not an option. He didn't make it available to us. He was either precisely who He said He was or a madman on a par with a man who claims he's a poached egg." At least he admitted he hasn't completely dismissed the idea he might be wrong. A shoe dropped in his deliberations back in the 90s. Let's pray for the other shoe to drop. He's got one foot in the dugout. Would love to have him on the team full time. God bless you, Mr Holdsworth, for your exceptional online presence and Catholic witness.
@Cathy Greene Or… it’s a forgery that wasn’t mentioned by anyone ever until the 13th century. And there were many other fake shrouds that came earlier.😂
The documented history is The Shroud itself. The Shroud is it’s best witness. We know where The Shroud has been through the 54+ pollen samples that The Shroud contains. That cloth has traveled a lot during it’s existence, and The Shroud has a story to tell. We know The Shroud was weaved around the southern most point of the Dead Sea. The Shroud moved to the northern most point of the Dead Sea. The Shroud was in Jerusalem, and then Turkey. We know The Shroud was on an island mentioned in The Holy Bible in the care of Paul. The Shroud visited south Eastern Europe before finding it’s way to France where it was in a fire. Some scholars say The Shroud was in to fires. The Shroud found it’s way to Turin, and then was moved to Rome for awhile, and then found it’s way back to Turin. The Holy Shroud has a story that can be supported by written documentation. GOD Bless!
There is a small church not far from NYC on Rt. 3 in New Jersey. It's called the "Holy Face Monastery". It's a beautiful little church sitting high on a hill where it can be seen for miles because there is a large cross on the steeple. Near the altar of the church, there is a side room with many artifacts and photographs of the Holy Shroud. Two very large photographs of the Shroud are displayed just behind the Altar I've stopped there many times to visit. I highly recommend anybody living near the NYC area to visit the Holy Face Monastery.
Back in the fall of 2019 I attended an exhibit of the Shroud here in Langley, BC at St Joseph's parish. It was presented by Dr Cheryl White, a board member of STERA and an associate of Mr Schwortz. This event was the first time I had heard in any kind of depth an examination of the evidence revealed by the studies conducted by the team Mr Schwortz was a part of. Previous to that my only knowledge was that commonly perpetuated in the popular culture (medieval forgery, debunked by scientists in the 80s, etc). Dr White was exceptionally impressive in her discourse on the topic, going into great detail about the history of the Shroud as well as the findings from both the initial studies and the later controversies. While I agree wholeheartedly with the statement that "For those with faith no evidence is necessary, and for those without no evidence will suffice", the existence of the Shroud and the passionate dedication of the people who pass on their intimate knowledge of it only deepens and enriches my faith in our Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ.
@@ironymatt Isn't believing just to believe it kind of the point? God doesn't seek to prove his existence, you just have to believe it, is what I've always been told when I ask Christians about it. If you have evidence, then you're no longer believing on faith.

Hi Brian thank you for doing this. Actually I wanted to listen about the Shroud because I am tired of the recent news. For a change I want to listen a talk over one very old subject.
@Commendatore It isn't the purview of scientists to reproduce the Shroud. Several artists have produced copies of the Shroud or portions of it, however, using materials available during medieval times. Joe Nickell has demonstrated a number of times how the Shroud was made using powdered aloes and cotton daubers.
A little FYI family and friends full of archaeologists who deal with carbon 14 dating: you will have to use other methods because the shroud has been in an intense fire and is made of linen, one of the materials whic "re-sets" its carbon 14 clock back to the beginning in the presence of intense fire conditions. Whether you take a sample from the original cloth or from the 14th century repair patches, they both will show the same date result: the time of the fire. Clay does the same thing, which is how the "re-set" was discovered some years ago in London: a row of medieval foundations was subjected to archaeological survey prior to putting new buildings in site. It was a provable fact that these were medieval buildings, spanning a number of centuries among them. Yet the C14 testing showed them to be exactly the same age and the date given for their creation was WW2. That's because all these buildings were destroyed be Hitler's fire-bombing of parts of London. And the buildings were clay brick. This launched a series of studies to find out what ELSE "re-sets" in fire. Linen is one such material. So all the debate about C14 testing is moot.
I wonder: are you planning to do videos other miraculous things (St Juan Diego's tilma, for example) or events (like the miracles at Fatima)? Because that would be a cool series. I suppose it depends if you're wanting to do an interview show for each. Either way, I'd enjoy them!

@@timward3142 Major universities teach many things, critical race theory for instance. (as if there was more than one race of human being). Tell me sir, what tree did Adam and Eve eat from? It was the tree of knowledge. The wisdom of men is foolishness to God. Science is theory. A deduction of men. It is not fact nor is it set in stone. It is partial truth or some truth mixed with much assumption. Theory is not fact. An example would be with our current situation. The “science”has changed much hasn’t it? The men of science can’t figure out things happening right now, much less things that happened thousands of years ago. Science tells us that the entire universe expanded from something smaller than a single atom. If that is truly the case, That sounds like creation to me friend. Isaiah “44:24 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone. KJV Look at the wording. He STRETCHED FORTH the Heavens. Sounds like science agrees with scripture friend. What does science say the first organisms come from? I believe their description is primordial ooze. From earth. From water and soil. What does God say Adam is created from? Genesis “2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”KJV Also, God created the beasts of the earth and the foul of the air before he created man. All of this fits perfectly with science doesn’t it? Man was Gods final creation. The scientific timeline of events fits with this doesn’t it? Man has not been on this earth long. Before you go on saying that God created the heavens and the earth in only six days, realize that you are determining your time by a planet that didn’t exist spinning around a star that didn’t exist. Kind of foolish when you think about it. The Bible tells us that a man’s life is but the blink of an eye to God. If that is so, how long is a day to God? Think about it. You can put your faith in science. I will put my faith in God. God Bless
I like the fact that there is a confident measure of uncertainty in Barrie’s mind and that he is able to hold that tension in one hand while simultaneously believing in God fully in the other, is impressive! If we demand certitude in this situation, then in essence, the Shroud becomes and idol. Whereas the image itself, asks us to have faith that he did in fact rise from his death.
I remember seeing the early documentary that “debunked” the shroud because of the carbon dating. I’ve always believed in Christ but my faith didn’t hang on the shroud being real. I now believe it is real, but that’s not what makes me believe in Christ.

Hello, I have followed this good man Barrie, for many years and also the Shroud. This is from Jesus Christ, definately. It proves that something special happened 2000 years ago and should point us to the Bible and to the message of salvation Jesus preached and after that Paul and the other apostles. Forgiveness is preached to those who believe and also a gift of becoming children of God by the new birth, if we repent and turn our lives around to do good and live righteously. The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus was the Jewish Messaih who was rejected by the authorities and was killed and His death God used to save mankind.

So interesting! And, am I the only one that noticed Brian’s change in body language and attitude during the course of the interview? For the first part, where the details of the science was being presented he seemed distant, distracted, perhaps even uninterested. Then, when they started talking about how Barrie felt about the spiritual aspects of his involvement with the shroud, and how it changed his life, Brian comes alive, starts smiling, starts leaning forward, starts looking and sounding engaged with the topic.
This is a very well done video, on one of my favorite topics, from one of my favorite channels. What’s NOT to like? Thanks Brian, and keep up the good work!

The duo that made a documentary "proving" that DaVinci created the image (they argue that the face on the shroud lines up perfectly with images of Jesus painted by DaVinci) failed to understand the possibility that DaVinci based all his paintings of Jesus on the image on the shroud. In other words, the argument can work in reverse. Carbon dating of cloth can be extremely erroneous because of less ancient dust mites and dust mite feces, less ancient pollen and other dusts and, as this guest has pointed out in various interviews that the sample taken for carbon dating had a French repair from when the cloth was kept in France.

There are some really good documentaries on this, that the best explinations that we have is that shroud is a a photograph of the moment of the resurrection, that the image was burned into the shroud at the moment of great release of energy. So...God even made a photo of his resurrection. So sad to see that the guy who is part of the publication on this still can't believe in Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. I'd say, this man should be strongly prayed for by all of us who do believe in Jesus. Lord, here is a real real Nicodemus, give him faith in you, that he may believe.
Always assumed it was a hoax but the more I've read the more it holds up. Haven't watched this yet but the botanical analysis of the pollen in it and the face cloth (Sudarium Christi) along with the physicists' attempt to explain the photographic negative image on a non-photosensitive material is remarkably convincing.

One would think that if a technology that was used to create the shroud existed it would have been passed down thru the generations and there would have been other examples of images of other individuals. I haven’t heard that there are others.
It took us 1800 years to realize the so called oxidised yellow was a photographic negative. About a couple of hundred years more to get the three dimensional part and now it seems that we can use laser scanning to get more precise info and possibly create a stroboscopic recreation of the Resurrection... God always has the last laugh and THE WORD has probably packed more data in the Simple Shroud than in all the Books of the Bible... God bless the Scientists who are unravelling the Secrets of the Shroud...
The Gospels also tell us there was a second cloth, folded and separate from the other. Jewish law requires that anything containing the victim’s blood or bodily fluids be buried with the body. Once Jesus was taken down from the cross, his face and head were wrapped in a smaller cloth or napkin, which absorbed the blood and fluids from his nose and mouth. This second cloth, known as the Sudarium, has also survived to the present day and is now kept in the cathedral in Oviedo, Spain, where it has resided since the 7th century. If the sudarium is placed on the facial image of the Shroud of Turin, it is apparent that they depict the image of the same man.
I truly enjoyed this interview. While my believe in Jesus isn’t dependent on the authenticity of the shroud, I’m awed by what God gave us. Viva Christo Rey!

Thank you dear Brian for this, i was looking for a good video on the Shroud of Turin. Just wonderful. I’ll be sharing this video link in the description of my next Catechism Video. +God bless you+
It doesn't take faith to see that "a picture is worth a thousand words." (But it takes willful ignorance NOT to see it.) The Shroud is the real deal.
Don't remember correctly but Maria Valtorta or Luisa Picarreta, mentions this in her writings, Jesus explains how the image was created, and I think it was similar to the theory of the doctor he mentioned, something about a quimical reaction. Loved this video thank you for this. God bless 🙏
It's not a quaint quimical question but something like a light projection which contains so much info that it boggles the mind... A Cartographer who deals with Mercator and other light projections will understand SOMEWHAT.
@@ronaldmachado757 It is in the writtings of Maria Valtorta :The poem of the Man God", Jesus mentions His kidneys and uremia. I remembered about it while looking at the video. But it will take less than 10 minutes for you to read "The Book of God" online...and see if that doesn't "blow your mind." You are blessed.
I don’t understand why they didn’t go into detail about the scientific evidence. While this was an enjoyable and respectful conversation, there is almost zero in here that I can share with skeptical friends, except a man, claiming to be an expert because he was present, expressing his conviction that it is real. But there’s almost not evidence presented for other skeptics to consider. It’s almost as if they assume the viewer is already familiar with all the details. I confess myself very disappointed with the interview, after all. I was hoping for a good-quality interview of Barry giving his entire presentation with clear images of his photographic evidence, since all of Barry’s other presentations that I can find are filmed at churches with poor audio and blown-out video, rendering his photos detail less.
Perhaps this will assuage your disappointment somewhat. Because, if you didn't watch this video and make this comment, you wouldn't have received this: The Shroud is indeed the real deal. So is this: "The Book of God" at A Course in Truth. I'm the prophesied return of Elijah. You shouldn't believe that, since you don't have good reason to. But it will take less than 10 minutes for you to read "The Book of God" online...and see if that doesn't "blow your mind." You are blessed.
They speak about the scientific evidence throughout the interview (ie: Barry explains that they used light to determine whether or not the fabric had been scorched to achieve the look that it had, and the result was that it was not scorched) that’s in my own words but that for sure is SPEAKING of scientific tests etc. Maybe give it another listen? I think I’m sold but I’m a believer anyway so it was an easy sell for me ;) plus he refers to his website throughout where you can find “data” that may help you
I am not an historian. But regarding the argument that it is "convenient" that the shroud would appear in a medieval Europe, where relics were appreciated has a ton of logic. Where else would it be safer to keep? It is just logical.
@@richpetre2561 There are several aspects to any attempt of recreating the image. 1. The physics and chemistry of the shades of the image. 2. The overall characteristics of the image. Mainly the depth map 3D information. 3. The limitations of the technology of the time. It is pretty obvious that number 3 makes it (almost) impossible to make a forge, even if sometimes ancient technology could be underrated, or the assumption that some lost technology was present at the time. I put a word in parenthesis just to leave a small door open for a tiny possibility yet to be discovered. I have not read all the papers published on the website, but I think I recall some reading I did some decades ago that the image is a darkening on one side of the fibers. It is not a thermal burn, like a fire, and this opened the possibility that it was light (or some electromagnetic wave) burn, fast so it only affected one side of the fiber and do not burn the other side, and intense enough to actually make a mark. If you leave a pile of white paper sheets at the sun, the first layers will darken, actually slow-burning, (not by combustion). I am not a chemist either, so I do not know how the long chains of long carbon molecules on a natural fiber decay into smaller carbon molecules, darker ones. I do not know if this difference of the molecular composition of one side of one fiber vs the other side can be performed. Tests to recreate this on natural fibers using different wavelengths could be interesting, probably with UV light or more energetic wavelengths. Point 2 is a matter for the setup, for the characteristics of the interrelation of the shroud and the image generating body. At first glance could be "easy" to measure distances of a face or a body to a flat surface, for example, making a cast of a body and slicing it. But two more factors make things worst. a. The idea that the shroud by gravity takes a different shape on top of the body than a flat surface. I am totally ignorant if the depth information on the two sides of the shroud is different in this regard, making the backside have a less complex deformation than the upper one. b. If the depth information is radiated or it could be potentially made from parallel rays, let's say vertical ones only. Of course, the complexity of these characteristics is even for computer calculated analysis quite a challenge. ----- I do believe that this image is not man-made, especially for the constraints on point 3. But as the shroud is still a physical object, I think there is a chance to replicate (with some modern technology) a similar image. I am Catholic, so I know that (c) we are not "obligated" to think that the shroud is the real shroud because it makes no difference in our beliefs, but (d) it is a very, very nice gift we were given, it is like a selfie of Jesus; and even if we could someday replicate the image, in both, micro and macro characteristics, it does not remove the value of the original selfie, It only make us appreciate it more.
@@RafaelOtake I like your idea on point 2, that an emission of radiated particles leaving a source in waves, that are shown to be 'moving' as they are transmitted is a rather unique problem to imagine. A molded form, holding a radioactive burst, then 'disappearing' in the 'falling' effect of the cloth itself is not only challenging and currently unable to replicate- It's Wonderful!
Wrongly underestimated, because Turin is a wonderful city with fine architecture and a "stile" of its own.
And you have FIAT, correct?
@@ven1805 correct. The FIAT industries were here. At some point they failed and they messed them up, but they were still an important part of the history of this city and Italy. Now FIAT doesn't exist anymore, it's been bought by a series of other bigger, more successful foreign car brands

The thing is fake. It is proven. The dating proved it to be a fake. The weave was not from the first century. Only one team was ever allowed to examine it.

It’s sad that there are so many articles out there that claim the Shroud is a fake, and they use sources that they misrepresent to suggest it’s fake. This interview has been an eye opener! Thank you
What’s even more sad, is how gullible religious folks are and buy into these scams so easily….
@@therealatheistexperience7654 What’s even more sad is that anti-theists believe that everything can from nothing.
@@gch8810 so who created the " creator"? And what evidence do you have for those claims?🤔

Everybody drops it like a hot potato when it has been proven time and time again that this is not a forgery.

I have heard DNA has light - and the moment of the RESURRECTION every cell came alive
I've come across that one too. That the amount of light was way beyond our capacity to recreate even with our most advanced technology. There is also a video out there that used the shroud to generate a 3D composite of Christ's body. Where they estimated over 600~800 wounds to his body. May have been the same documentary actually.

To clarify: the exhibit was *on* the Shroud, complete with full-size replica, but not *of* the actual Shroud itself.

Hi Brian thank you for doing this. Actually I wanted to listen about the Shroud because I am tired of the recent news. For a change I want to listen a talk over one very old subject.
Thank you so much for sharing this interview!...
I have studied the shroud for years…no question in my mind that’s it’s real and authentic.
Well John, what's your definition of "studying"?
100 percent its old, 100 percent it never covered Jesus or any other human for that matter.

Really excellent Video. Barry comes over as so authentic, and you conducted the interview very effectively.

I performed a basic forensic evaluation of the shroud of Turin and the results left me crying. I'm not sure if it's belonging to The Lord, but the injuries I personally examines from that article were very brutal.
When did you do this forensic evaluation? Did you publish your findings? If so, in what forum - be specific with dates, volumes, etc. The Vatican only lets a very select few examine the shroud so from where did you gain permission?

TRUTH is at the core of all religions. But you have to MINE in order to FIND. (Blind faith is blind.) The Shroud is indeed the real deal. So is this: "The Book of God" at A Course in Truth. Thank you so much Brian Holdsworth. It was very interesting to listen to Barry Schwartz
When all of us other humans die, that’s one thing. But when the Creator of the universe, the Alpha and the Omega, the “I Am” dies, no wonder a special phenomenon accompanies the event.
It’s kind of a big deal!
Shelly that's when He returned to life
@@mjramirez6008 , yes, of course!
And I always kind of assumed that the image on the shroud was made at the moment of resurrection. I imagine that was a moment accompanied by tremendous power and energy.
But when I realized from watching this video that the image is of a dead man, it made me think more deeply about what it meant for God (God!) to die.
God didn’t die.
Shelly Imagawa So you Creationist believer? FYI the idea of a Creator went out the window around sixty or so years or so with the emergence of Evolution which, as a matter of record, is taught in every major University in the world including Oxford and Cambridge.
KJV
Look at the wording. He STRETCHED FORTH the Heavens. Sounds like science agrees with scripture friend.
What does science say the first organisms come from? I believe their description is primordial ooze. From earth. From water and soil. What does God say Adam is created from?
Genesis “2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”KJV
Also, God created the beasts of the earth and the foul of the air before he created man.
That word "debunked". I do not think it means what so many in the popular culture seem to think it means

The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus was the Jewish Messaih who was rejected by the authorities and was killed and His death God used to save mankind.

it is always a joy to hear barrie. The new thing I take away from this viewing is that the experiment with blood and bilirubin could not be repeated by another scientist. I am intrigued.

How would you explain his lack of belief? What rationale must he follow in order to justify his conclusions?
God's covenant with the Jews is eternal, whether he adopts a prescribed (by you) form of religion, or not.
I had literally *just* been thinking of this earlier today.

Great interview but I’m so disappointed in his lack of conversion! I just can’t wrap my mind around it, especially with his devotion to sharing/speaking about the shroud. I used to be agnostic and the shroud was one of the big things that put me on the road to eventual conversion.

Cultural and tribal pride... They don't wanna sacrifice what they perceive as their Jewishness.
Jesus was a Jew his family & his disciples were Jewish & he preached to Jews. It's a burial cloth & if someone wanted to fake it all the details are all in the Bible. Why would a person convert it's not like it's 100% proven to be Jesus or he rose from the dead. Just saying.

One would think that if a technology that was used to create the shroud existed it would have been passed down thru the generations and there would have been other examples of images of other individuals. I haven’t heard that there are others.
Good point.
It took us 1800 years to realize the so called oxidised yellow was a photographic negative.

New sub here excellent thank you! Your guest certainly gave me alot to consider and smile about!
I am not an historian. But regarding the argument that it is "convenient" that the shroud would appear in a medieval Europe, where relics were appreciated has a ton of logic. Where else would it be safer to keep? It is just logical.
What do you think of the research teams emphasis that they analyzed attempts of 'refabrication' that were done by artists and other replicators?
-----
I do believe that this image is not man-made, especially for the constraints on point 3.
Oh sick an hour plus interview
