Why even build that Prelude? I guess it’s their attempt at building a fun hybrid for the masses and try to get some value out of the model name for the good of the Honda brand. Sales numbers should be entertaining.
I believe it mostly has to do with marketing (Although I am personally interested in the Prelude even as an Si owner). Honda is unveiling new tech with their next gen eHEV system, but by itself, it doesn't seem that exciting. So by releasing a sports/sporty car, they can show the tech/brand is fun, then volume consumers that don't want the Prelude cause they need something more practical can look at the SUVs with the same system and think "Well this SUV has a bunch of the fun stuff that the sports car has and should be fun!". Which isn't the worst idea cause I know Honda for the Si and Type R, but have driven my girlfriend's HRV and realized it also handles nicely, I don't want it, but I do like how certain Honda characteristics are universal.
I’d like to see heated and cooled seats in the integra(all trims),more aggressive seats in the TYPE S and ASPEC TECH PKG(6mt) and a better rear view camera.

The Acura lights all look the same on their cars. It's like they build their cars around the headlights. Let's differentiate the style now.
The Vezel is based on the Fit which left the Mexico plant so they aren’t likely to use that design on the HRV. Ideally that Vezel would come back as an Element and the HRV could just go away.
Kirk, You are part of a small, select group who head northwards when they travel to Disney World. 🤪 Getting back to Honda, their roadmap will need to be substantially updated with the takeover of Nissan.
I was expecting a refesh on the Accord due to the unpopular design and a Ridgeline update based on the Passport. Does Honda have that little bandwidth thry can’t do those models too?
So I was looking at the crv and I think that if they made an Acura version of that to replace the rdx it would be a hit! Just made the regular one with the current engine then type s it with the v6. I think the crv in some way resembles the x3 and they would have a base x3 and a x350 competitor also.
EV’s, SUV’s, never thought that’s what the future would be like when I was younger. I thought when I got older maybe I’d be driving a V8 powered Acura Legend coupe in the future which is now. So disappointing.
The CR-V refresh better include the features its top trim is missing that its competitors include in their respective top trims, & by that I mean ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 360° camera system, multicolor ambient lighting, a Head-Up Display, a 12.3" digital gauge cluster & 12.3" center touchscreen from the Accord, & unique interior color options besides black & what they call gray which looks more like white without increasing the price considering how the RAV4 Hybrid Limited, a Tucson Hybrid Limited, & Kia Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige trims have most of these features standard. Some of those features are bundled in a package or as a standalone option for the RAV4 Hybrid Limited but they're standard in the Tucson Hybrid Limited & Sportage SX Prestige
Do you think Honda's comment about "technology and appearance updates" for the HRV will include the introduction of the hybrid powertrain? I'm going to say YES. And I think the front end updates will largely be in the lower bumper area - more downturned like the Vezel than the upturned/tusks of the current styling. Lets hope we get the foglights and a Trailsport Appearance Pkg option for it too.
The Integra interior could be nicer and more different from the Civic interior. Exterior i honestly don’t think they should touch. The front and rear are perfect, maybe some more line work on the side? Idk.
What they should do is put a regular transmission in the Integra. While the CVT doesn’t bother me as Honda CVT’s are the best. it just doesn’t vibe with what the Acura brand is supposed to be.
@@vaxsur no. And as a person that prefers an automatic over a manual even though I know how to drive one, I get why. That being said, if Honda could develop their own DCT and throw them into an integra, that would be great but that also would be a dicey move with the reputation of DCT’s
@@terrencebenjamin7241you know whats crazy? The ILX was offered in DCT and it was actually pretty stout. I think pilot sales will probably be down this year with grand highlander issues being fixed and production ramping back up, hard to see acura make sales gains over 2024 i think RDX volume will be down and people will just get the ADX instead, civic may also not sell as well with the prius issues being fixed
I don't see any Honda, or Acura, that is truly appealing. Everything now has ether a 4-banger or some hybrid. The Integra Type-S could work, if it didn't have a $50k price tag with a Honda Civic interior It's all fine, just nothing I'd take pride in owning. They are just cars.
Integra updates, probably gets bang and olufsen, and some NVH upgrades like active noise cancellation and more sound insulation (similar to ADX), also the small improvements to rigidity the 2025 civic got
@@Sleepyboiwonderwell the adx just got introduced with the 9 inch infotainment and refreshed civic kept 7/9 inch infotainment, hard to see them giving the refreshed integra the 12 inch screen
The price is hard to justify without a better feature list. If Integra gets the ADX features at near same prices that would help. Hybrid option would help too.
I get that RSX isn’t *fully* tied to the DC5 Integra, but still… it feels insulting to bring a beloved name like that and turn it into an NPC SUV, as if they didn’t already have enough options in that segment. It’s also just VERY tone deaf since people *clearly* would jump at the chance to buy a 2 door sportier version of the ITS. Just an odd choice, that’s all. Doesn’t take away the excitement of the Prelude, and a POTENTIAL 2 door Teg. As for what they could do to make it nicer? Ventilated seats is TOP of my list. Honda already offers them in the Accord. (Or at least in the 2.0t Touring.) Then probably the HRC options and rear seat amenities and I’d be pretty impressed. As for a completely unreasonable request? An SH-AWD version. 😎
The Integra needs to be smaller and quicker. Why it's like half a foot longer than the Civic hatchback makes no sense. At this point, it makes no sense that the hybrid Civic is faster than the base Integra. There's no reason to get the Integra if it lags in both power and gas mileage.
They should add a hybrid Integra as a mid performance trim between base and type-s otherwise you're missing so much extra performance that you want with such an expensive car otherwise what's the point of getting a Integra when you can get a civic hybrid that's faster and cheaper
Gotta get the real specs on the Prelude. Pricing, power, weight, fuel economy. I really don't want them to hold back too much for an Acura version that may never come. It'll live or die on how much it tries to rock the boat vs being the "slow and steady" Honda of recent years.
Surprised the Ridgeline doesn’t get a fall 2025 debut. What’s the delay? Does acquiring Nissan now further muddy its future? Would they nix the Ridgeline altogether for a Frontier?
You bring Acura RSX as a crossover that will be short-lived. Then you need to refresh my bad redesign the Honda Accord and the Acura TLX should’ve just came with a V6 and I love the TLX type S as one of the best looking cars for the money if you want sexy looking, sedan and enough power even though I wouldn’t like 450 hp coming out of it but I can tune it up so it’s OK and put a automatic in the type S Integra, I’m telling you if you would put an automatic in there your sales will go sky high more people will get it. No CVT included off limits.😂 I hope you can bring more V6 V8 and some name plates that been discontinued back in some of these car companies lineups and get rid of some new names in the lineup and go back to a few main plates in the lineup with more features. It was better that way Acura was doing it for years, but now they’re trying to expand because they’re trying to put out more new products that could be a good thing or a bad thing for the company
Vezel is a smaller SUV compared to the ZRV in Japan, and the size of the ZRV is sandwiched between Vezel and CRV. Vezel has the 1.5 engine or the 1.5 hybrid. The funny thing is that only the US model ZRV(AKA HRV) got the 2.0 NA engine ONLY, and else the world got the 1.5 turbo as standard, 2.0 hybrid as an option, and A LOT MORE features. I just feel so weird that the US model got the worst package overall.
@@hjlnbi Their naming got messed up pretty bad. New Vezel in someplace is still called the HRV, but the last gen HRV here in States is actually the Vezel. ZRV is a bigger SUV than the HRV if these names exist at the same time. We just assume Japan got their names right, here in the States, they use ZRV to replace the last generation Vezel and still called it HRV today.
Acura needs to stop with the 1.5L / CVT combo. It's not as premium as they think it is, in fact it's very subpar to my 2.4L k24. I test drove it at the Naples Acura on Airport-Pulling, even my wife wasn't impressed. 2026 Acura Integra needs the 2.0L Hybrid from the Civic, or we're probably going to be forced to leave the brand.

Honda needs to up its horsepower game on its 3.5 6 cylinder it’s a. Great engine but a 3.5 engine with sub 290 hp ? Come on Honda u can do,better
The Vezel is based on the Fit which left the Mexico plant so they aren’t likely to use that design on the HRV.
Ideally that Vezel would come back as an Element and the HRV could just go away.
Kirk, You are part of a small, select group who head northwards when they travel to Disney World. 🤪 Getting back to Honda, their roadmap will need to be substantially updated
with the takeover of Nissan.
100% certain that a hybrid Pilot would have been my next vehicle purchase. Now it looks like it will be the Grand Highlander or the RX 350H.
I just saw the new palisade. Wait for that one!
I saw Integra parked in front of Costco the other day (as a display for auto purchasing program) but I wonder how many people knew what it was 🤷♂️
So, the Acurized Prelude? Acura CLX!
Acura Legend
@@hinchesk2629 Too small for Legend status; has to be at least midsize.
@@MidnightAspecya and the RSX has to be a coupe.
@@hinchesk2629 grand coupe in this version.
I hope Acura can put a rear seat air fence in the Integra when they are doing a refresh on it. A very small thing that's not too much to ask right? 😅
Sucks they skimped out when the literal Chinese market civic has rear seat vents and its the same platform…
Some of those features are bundled in a package or as a standalone option for the RAV4 Hybrid Limited but they're standard in the Tucson Hybrid Limited & Sportage SX Prestige
reviving all the wrong cars but the Element... Honda is not what it was.
Integra needs to be like nsx according to half electric motor and fuel engine
Would love a Moonroof on the Integra Type-S
Hopefully once Honda gets their solid state batteries into production they make every model a hybrid at least. Acura should aim at full HEV not BEV.
Not everyone likes hybrids. Fuel mileage tanks in cold weather.
Ev no thx, hybrid sure
Do you think Honda's comment about "technology and appearance updates" for the HRV will include the introduction of the hybrid powertrain? I'm going to say YES. And I think the front end updates will largely be in the lower bumper area - more downturned like the Vezel than the upturned/tusks of the current styling. Lets hope we get the foglights and a Trailsport Appearance Pkg option for it too.
The Integra interior could be nicer and more different from the Civic interior. Exterior i honestly don’t think they should touch. The front and rear are perfect, maybe some more line work on the side? Idk.
They need an integra sport wagon hybrid
If you think there could be a manual htbrid, you don't understand Honda's hybrid system.
What they should do is put a regular transmission in the Integra. While the CVT doesn’t bother me as Honda CVT’s are the best. it just doesn’t vibe with what the Acura brand is supposed to be.
exactly only way to get rid of the cvt is type s but not everyone wants/knows how to drive a manual
@@vaxsur no. And as a person that prefers an automatic over a manual even though I know how to drive one, I get why. That being said, if Honda could develop their own DCT and throw them into an integra, that would be great but that also would be a dicey move with the reputation of DCT’s
@@terrencebenjamin7241perhaps they could do another collaboration with ZF
@@terrencebenjamin7241you know whats crazy? The ILX was offered in DCT and it was actually pretty stout. Its absurd that they gave us the integra with a CVT option when the DCT was in the parts bin and would’ve been an amazing alternative to the 6MT. I say this as someone who currently has a 6MT A-spec
I guess no Ridgeline news
I think pilot sales will probably be down this year with grand highlander issues being fixed and production ramping back up, hard to see acura make sales gains over 2024 i think RDX volume will be down and people will just get the ADX instead, civic may also not sell as well with the prius issues being fixed
I don't see any Honda, or Acura, that is truly appealing.
Everything now has ether a 4-banger or some hybrid.
The Integra Type-S could work, if it didn't have a $50k price tag with a Honda Civic interior
It's all fine, just nothing I'd take pride in owning. They are just cars.
Integra updates, probably gets bang and olufsen, and some NVH upgrades like active noise cancellation and more sound insulation (similar to ADX), also the small improvements to rigidity the 2025 civic got
If they do these things, along with a screen size or resolution update, I’m getting one
@@Sleepyboiwonderwell the adx just got introduced with the 9 inch infotainment and refreshed civic kept 7/9 inch infotainment, hard to see them giving the refreshed integra the 12 inch screen
@@mike9588 sales down 25% no one wants a fancy civic
The price is hard to justify without a better feature list. If Integra gets the ADX features at near same prices that would help. Hybrid option would help too.
And I hope they add ventilated seats on the top trim like the ADX is getting
Such a shame theres no accord update, they are going to blame the consumer for not buying it meanwhile it was corporate suicide.
The Integra needs to be smaller and quicker. Why it's like half a foot longer than the Civic hatchback makes no sense. At this point, it makes no sense that the hybrid Civic is faster than the base Integra. There's no reason to get the Integra if it lags in both power and gas mileage.
The thing compact about the HR-V is the interior space. Why is the front end so long. Looks horrible
They need to build an Integra coupe in Indy Yellow Pearl. *drool*
Honda announced some big discounts
All I care about is e-AWD coming to the civic / accord
I really don’t care that they made an EV suv. The fact they used the RSX name plate is what bothers me.
CR-V TrailSport 👍 This is a nice bonus.
HR-V Exterior design change 🙏 This is a must.
@@100M2B lol crv walmart sport
Bump up the quality Honda
They should add a hybrid Integra as a mid performance trim between base and type-s otherwise you're missing so much extra performance that you want with such an expensive car otherwise what's the point of getting a Integra when you can get a civic hybrid that's faster and cheaper
GIVE ME THE PREYLUDE !!!!!
Gotta get the real specs on the Prelude. Pricing, power, weight, fuel economy. I really don't want them to hold back too much for an Acura version that may never come. It'll live or die on how much it tries to rock the boat vs being the "slow and steady" Honda of recent years.
They lost me. They ruined the rsx name
How is it ruined?
@@sammydavis991 huh? it’s another crap crossover EV
Surprised the Ridgeline doesn’t get a fall 2025 debut. What’s the delay? Does acquiring Nissan now further muddy its future? Would they nix the Ridgeline altogether for a Frontier?
I’m hoping for a 3rd generation Ridgeline. Not a big fan of the Frontier.
I just feel so weird that the US model got the worst package overall.
i dont think zrv and hrv the same ! because in our market we have both zrv and hrv
No, why why why
Acura needs to stop with the 1.5L / CVT combo. It's not as premium as they think it is, in fact it's very subpar to my 2.4L k24. I test drove it at the Naples Acura on Airport-Pulling, even my wife wasn't impressed.
2026 Acura Integra needs the 2.0L Hybrid from the Civic, or we're probably going to be forced to leave the brand.
HRV in japan is called ZRV
Was really hoping for a Hybrid HRV announcement 😢
Great channel Kirk!
