- We just sold this one but still had to share it with you guys. This is a 1965 Superformance Roadster. We call this one the gentleman’s cobra. The roadster is the same body as the 427 cobra but has some sleek differences that make a big difference. The roadster has no side pipes. Instead it has rear exhaust with mufflers so it is not as loud as the 427 cobra. Next it has no hood scoop and no roll bar. Super smooth look. We up-fitted this one with the 18 inch polished aluminum wheels, Diamond stitch tobacco interior, and power steering. It’s a beautiful car and probably one of our favorites. Twenty years ago, I was living out by the beach and came home one day and there was a kit Cobra parked with a "for sale" sign in the window. It was baby blue with a 302, I think.
$14K.
But I didn't even have $14 back then.
Coulda, shoulda, woulda...😢.
That is one sweet Cobra. One day maybe I'll finally own one......

Shelby built a very practical vehicle. There are a couple of similars on a smaller scale worth owning. They never make them for long. Too damn good for the human race. Screwed up and ugly and fighting air the hard way is people. Sorry its not a more affordable people’s car. And the Cobra is unsafe at any speed without headrest and seat belts.
