Bro a major international airport must have at least 2500 -3000 meters of a run way for wider commercial flights. Even in some cases 4000 meters for cargo planes. At this point i believe safety should be the top most priority. Thanks

I don’t think any of you know better than the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). They might not be living abroad, but they are learned and knowledgeable regarding the requirements and standardizations of international airports, so y’all should sit tight and give them the benefit of the doubt to complete the project. After all, I don’t think the person stating the length and width of an international airport’s runways knows better than the GCAA.
A 737 or A320 can land at the Kumasi airport. You don’t need a very long runway to land. The problem is taking off.
A 737-8 needs more runway than available at Kumasi in order to take off with enough fuel to get to Europe. It cannot fly directly to US.

They are right to say it’s not up to international standards boss. First and foremost, Kumasi is not a port of entry and therefore do have customs as well as the capacity to handle all international flights from Europe. They can make it so eventually but as it stands right now, it is not up to international standards. Additionally, the airport runway measures 6543 feet. While that is sufficient for a B737-800 to land on, it will be very difficult. A fully loaded b737-800 with full payload and passengers as well, with the high temperatures in Ghana, it will certainly need a longer takeoff roll as well as landing distance. So while 6542 is technically enough, safety wise it’s not up to standards and I’m sure you are aware of how scary airplane accidents can be.
Additionally, how many B737-800 comes from Europe? Not many. The flight from Europe exceeds 5hrs. With a full flight, the 737 does not have the range to complete this flight. That’s why they use mostly long range aircrafts such as the Airbus A330 and A350 or the B767 and B777 airplanes. Those planes definitely will not be able to land safely and take off from that runway in Kumasi. I’m sure the building they have built can handle the planes but runway wise, it’s not safe to do so.

Can’t the government make Kumasi another port of Entry in Ghana? Or you might not like it? Please let them complete the project and we will talk about other matters.. Even if A helicopter will land there for it to be International, we are ready to board them..
What's a Port of Entry? Massa, don't just use words by heart. Every International Airport is a Port of Entry.

Look my brother, everyone wants the best for our land. Have you seen a Boeing 777 before? Or have you seen Airbus 380 before, these planes are not child's play. The fact that we want our city to succeed doesn't mean we should ignore the truth. If you want to check Accra airport by road, it's from former ShangriLa to 37 main traffic light. That's how long Kotoka runway is. Are you telling me that's what you are seeing here in Kumasi is that long? It was meant to be international but why that didn't happen is another story. So far facilities in place will allow planes from anywhere in the world to land or take off from here. But this runway is limited when it comes to planes that can land here. Boeing 737 is not Boeing 777
