Ketheric either tadpoled her or let her get tadpoled, absolutely savage
In his journal he literally rights that she will learn to understand him whether she wants to or not.
He went past love and it became an obsession.
Broski dug her up. Hired a necromancer who keeps his mother in a jar on the shelf “over there” to resurrect her, chained the love of her life to his invulnerability and THEN gets us the player to bring them both to moonrise, and he tadpoles his own dead/alive daughter. Also his wife really wanted her to be a selunite baddy and now shes a puppet go ketheric for being the yuckiest dad in bg3
Writes @@christianlei2519
@@EternalMagikarp I have always wondered how Balthazar resurrected her. Necromancers can't actually revive the dead, that's not a thing wizards can do. None of the Arcane casters can (well, Bards can with magical secrets, but it's not a core bard spell). Given how she describes the whole thing as 'going dark', I wonder if Shar had just been keeping her soul somewhere, instead of actually letting her die.
Naw I’m not double crossing my homies Isabel and dame ayline for a pair of tadpoles.
Most importantly letting Balthazar take Nightsong makes Shadowbae leave the party
I did for the slayer form 👀
Wait until you play as dark urge.
@@MuhammadImran-yl6sz I have multiple times, but only redemption durge.
@@tiberseptim8434I did everything as normal (saving everyone) until the end of act 2 where I cast darkness and invis and dispatched Isobel in the middle of the celebration after defeating Kethric. No one saw it so no one went aggro, everyone had already left last light so hopefully they should all be waiting in BG when I get there. Even Dame Aylin wasn’t mad at me, just some of my companions brought it up but were like “come on, guy, that wasn’t cool.”
And then I got slayer form.
Two tadpoles ain't worth sheart
i wonder if there's a way to do this without losing shadowheart as a companion
The tadpoles really are just extra man. The point was the alternative path that leads to it.
Worth it hahaha evil playthrouth go bruuuuuum
Sheart is worthless after act 2 anyway.
@@BanjoBiffoall of them are
Me and my buddy commited to an evil co op run. Neither of us are usually inclined to be baddies. Act 1 was all funny, but we got real quiet in this part
SAME! We had to do an evil coop to encourage each other to be evil and try to make it funny instead of sad.
Yeah, I'm on my "evil" Durge run, but after I get the trophy for saving Sazza I'm gonna reload to before I raided the grove. Then I'm somehow gonna stick to keeping Shadowheart with Shar, get most of the companions to do their evil endings (probably not Lae'zel, since hers just sucks), and doing all of the Durge stuff in Act 3 (also for the trophies).
The fact the general is ok with this is why i dont have any sympathy for him anymore. He rejects everything about his own daughter, he couldnt just be happy that she was alive again, he turned her into his puppet.
He probably wanted to keep her in line till the plan was complete. I don’t think Myrkul does warranties on reviving people and she definitely would’ve died during the war. Kind of a bad dad but it kind of makes sense
Yeah. Kethrick might have been sympathetic once, but at this point his love for Isoble has turned possesive. He wante her to be HIS daughter, and nothing more.
Hmm…
Two parasites or a squishy but powerful white mage and her resurrecting OP Aasimir girlfriend with a flaming sword…
Decisions, decisions…
Dame Ayline went down and stayed down every fight I was in with her, rarely ever got a single hit off. Give me the tadpoles.
@@outerspacejunkie7649 she one shot ketheric during my run when he slipped on ice so… get gud, I guess 👍
@@outerspacejunkie7649 skill issue. get better RNG
@@outerspacejunkie7649 it's rng she is one of the hardest hitting people in the game when she gets a hit off
I still got Ayline after I murdered Isobel when the winged dude was trying to kidnap her. The aasimar didn't know I murdered her girlfriend. So you can still keep the angel even if you nerc the cleric.
If you kill Isobel, she'll also appear undead at the Act II final battle
That's weird she wasn't undead for me when I killed her as durge
@@rubenrodriguez3252I think if you kill her as Durge, it deny’s Myrkul ability to res them. He and Baahl are rivals after all.
I truly evil playthrough is rough even as the dark urge. I don't think I ever could manage it to be honest
chaotic evil is just stoopid.
@@Allday524 Aren't they working together?
So, that's two parasites I'm not going to get it seems. :)

The Dark Urge gets oh-so-DARK. DC Universe dark..
Larian does an amazing job with Balders Gate 3. The storyline, the cutscenes, the voice acting are all top-notch.
I love dark urge storyline. Both evil and redeemed. Though i wish companions reacted more and there were more dialogues with them about your origin in act 3.
Super excited for a dark urge play through! Still on Act 3 though. Doubt I’ll do a dark urge play-through until the snow falls next winter haha
@@hurtinalbertan3553 that's why I do multiple playthroughs at once, also helps me find things I missed in one save.
I recently started an honor run and I have never used a parasite once. As of now, I got 28 in my pocket to use.
I've been swallowing them all in my honor run and (I guess SPOILER ALERT for an event, a cutscene and a possible outcome between acts 2 and 3)...
... when handed the Astral Tadpole, I actually had to ROLL to resist using it because my mind was so full of wormy holes. I failed and decided not to reroll, because it didn't feel important enough to burn through inspirations and I probably would've used it anyway.
Until now, whenever I used the Astral Tadpole, I also used a "modless mod" that removes the Partial Illithid visuals. It didn't mess up my Tactician achievement but I'm not messing around with anything like that in HM, lol. It actually looks kinda cool on a githyanki with Volo's Ersatz Eye and already purple hair and lipstick 😂.
Why tho?

Idk having a non sorcerer who can fly whenever they want is pretty goated. Plus cull the weak absolutely destroys

Shoutout to the players that are actually good enough at combat where they can afford doing this and still manage to survive the endgame. I’m not one of them, but I’m happy for y’all
How does this make the endgame harder?
@@angulinhiduje6093less XP. Less allies. Less quest reward loot.

@@colinnixon7739 you shoukd hit max level regardless so the xp doesn't really matter I feel like you'd have to go out of your way to skip content to actually fail hitting Max level
@@angulinhiduje6093 for allies I think he means the fact you can call her in or whatever but honestly i don't think the final battle is the hardest fight at all
You can get more than enough tadpoles to max out one character before long in act 3 so it’s only a good option if you’re going for a pure evil run and that’s more for immersion than for reward
Killed her on my Dark Urge run yesterday and she still was with Ketheric, only no tadpole, because he just raised her as a thrall this time
Two tadpoles ain’t worth it here champ, but least the evil playthrough guys got 2 more tadpoles than normal
2 tadpoles over 2 lesbians..... hmmmm
How can you claim that when they clearly took one deep?
@@sneezyfido ?
As a D&D nerd of nearly 40 years I never liked the Harpers as a faction. They are great meddlers who frequently operate under “father knows best” while conveniently being secretive enough to never bear the consequences. That said…….. yeah the dead threes plan was stupid. It has Bane written all over it (totalitarian dictator that the “Black Hand” is). No souls in the new divine compact as set by Io means no power.
you too can lose isobel, aylin, _and_ shadowheart with a series of horrific decisions! all for the grand reward of 3 extra parasites!
you don't need to side with fat necro dude, you can just fail the inn defense and get the same outcome
I have ended Act 2 and im Sitting on 5 Tadpoles, i dont really need
While you do get the extra tadpoles for power ups, youre also losing 2 useful allies in the endgame fight, with a powerful paladin and basically free mass cure wounds, youre also losing the entirety of last light inn, including the trader, dammon, and the comatose fist you need to commune with to lift the shadow curse, as well as im pretty sure losing shadowheart. Imo, its not really worth it in my opinion, unless youre doing an evil run, but i also havent used the tadpole powers except to do achievements. Its a sort of 'to each their own"
A side note about the comatose fist if he is dead, you can use speak with the dead on him to further the quest to lift the shadow curse
Well unless you care about shadowhearts dialogue losing her is not a loss in the slightest especially since anybody can be a cleric
Endgame battle isn't even that difficult, you can manage to win it without allies (i did it in first run and im not even a good player)
Aylin is a waste of space and I turn her in to Lorroakan
You can be so breathtakingly evil in this game that it takes real commitment to do an all evil run.
Damn how many of these things are there? I found like 4, then just the other day got to the cre'esh or whatever, n got the 4 there. Kinda blew my mind that this lady just has 4 of them chillin' about in her lil room. Seems like there is a bunch?
I managed to fill pretty much my entire party's brains with tads, so quite a few
As far as we know, there are 21 in total.
Im so glad I didn't let her get kidnapped just because that was an easier fight. I almost let her be taken because I thought there was no way they could move the story along without that
From what i could read about Ketheric he truly loved Isobel like no other. The fact Ketheric allowed Isobel to get tadpoled is proof to me that the real Ketheric is long dead, perhaps when Isobel died the first time…
You also lose Shadowheart if you deliver the Nightsong to Balthazar.
Cool, more tadpoles. I never liked her anyway.
Me sitting here with 15 hoarded as I never cared enough to use them
I only felt right about this when I played a full Dark Urge Tav.
Welp my brain is essentially full anyways
I didnt even know thats what happened if she got caught. Ive literally always been able to defend last light
Funny how people needed to play Durge to to do the dark story line. I lost a playthrough because I tried doing it the good way and just said screw that, we balling.
More like we Bhaalin
Ketheric would never allow Isobel to be infected.
Jesus Christ. Thorm had his own child tadpoled.
Two parasite in exchange for Isobel and Aylin, we getting a steal in that exchange, I usually let lorroakan take Aylin but now I can get a parasite for her 🤯
It makes sense there's no way she would have taken her father's side if she was herself it's just a shame that looting it off her corpse is the only way to get the magical selunite robes as I often play as an agent of selune I know there are 3 different selunite robes dotted around the shadow cursed lands you can pick up but they're purely for decoration like you don't get the magical effect with them
I don't use tadpoles and I love both Isobel and Lady Aylin and I'm unable to do an evil run, so nope!!!
What did it cost?
"Everything"
You don’t actually have to give Dame Aylin up for the mind flayer parasite for capturing Isobel. If you go to Last Light Inn, and talk to Marcus, and then side with him after speaking with Isobel, and allow him to capture her, you can receive the reward from Zrell. It isn’t dependent on bringing Dame Aylin to moonrise. I killed her in my evil play though, and having DJ Shadowheart is much more valuable than one mind flayer parasite.
On her CORPSE?? I'm so glad I never sided with that part of the game.
I never ingested a single tadpole
Dude. The implications 😭 maybe her dad wasnt redeemable after all
he absolutely was never redeemable
You can understand him(at least in no kidnapping Isobel runs), but he's not redeemable
I was born from a tadpole, a tadpole ain't taking me out.
8:47 there are different ways they can get “paid”, for some channels, staying on good terms with Ubisoft would mean a lot more materials they can make videos with.
I killed isobel every playthrough
I actually love doing evil runs due to there being so many different routes especially in act 2, I'm playing like 4 dark urge playthroughs at once and I've gotten to act 3 with all of them (3 redemption durge 1 "evil" run), just need to actually finish them before I can really experiment with my true evil run
My second time fighting Marcus he fucking one-shot Isobel and took off with her after one turn.
I don't even know if she actually died and they necromanced her corpse or if she did live to be tadpoled.
Regardless this part surprised me and it sucked to listen to Isobel kiss up to her dad. But I'm fairly committed to not loading an earlier save on my replays, depending.
I wanted to save her during this fight but I don't know if it's possible. Ended up with a tadpole out of the deal but with this character (a good-aligned Durge) I'm not pursuing those powers at all, or on any companions.
2 parasites I won't ever get it seems. That's not worth losing Dammon over.
It's most certainly not worth losing Shadowheart either.
I’m on an evil run and I helped abduct her before I went to shars temple, will I still be able to get the parasite from that?
Ok but are parasites really that important for you to do this? I mean you can find a whole bunch of them at the pier anyways
Cool, gonna continue to not be this evil
She was abducted from the inn for me. That fight was so hard for me, that it seemed scripted. So... Not much of a change to the evil run.
How did she resist the tadpoles control?
Divine intervention by Selune, perhaps?
She didn't.
She was implanted after her kidnapping.
I don't even really use the ones I have, I have used one or two but have five stashed 😂
Dude, the powers you can get after using the astral touches tadpole to unlock the last tier of abilities are SOOOOO OP. Even the base ones available are really good, especially Cull The Weak.
And there are no true drawbacks to using them aside from having to make a wisdom save to resist taking the astral tadpole which will change your appearance slightly. Otherwise, no drawbacks aside from those you roleplay yourself. 🤗
I have 20 😅 and I've used some 😅😅😅🤷🏻♀️
@@codypatton2859no drawbacks? Failed a roll. My Tav looked like she'd been set on fire with lighting 💀 Reloaded 😅
@@codypatton2859yeah the illithid powers ruin the game for me. It just ends up turning into black hole every fight and then spam your big AOE blast move. Very very lame and uninspiring.
Wait. You cab choose to not kill big bads?
So this only works if we play as evil?
It's not evil. It's absolute infiltration. If you're actually an absolutist you're on the good side which is your side
@@colinnixon7739knowing that keterik will fok u up anyway.
Not really worth it. You get plenty of parasites if thats youre thing. But worse than that is you still have to fight ketheric and balthazar anyway.
It has no impact on story at all except making a couple hard fights much harder
In my Durge run I killed her and the angel dude at the Inn. There was a cinematic of her being carried off. When I got to Kethric's boss fight she was alive and a part of the fight. Sadly I didn't think I wouldn't be able to loot her after the fight so I didn't during it. Makes me wonder how that would have went down had I.
Why do her eyes glow green?
Whats more worth it?
Gods chosen lesbians
Or two wormy bois
Does using the ilithid powers aggravate the transformation to a mind flayer?
not at all
bolth
Awe man, she died wayyyy earlier than this is my evil run lol
She’s too precious, I just can’t… so anyways I continued the rest of my usual routine of Durging
Again this if you're evil:/
I hear you also get a free meal at Chick-Fil-A for upholding traditional relationships.
But what if you romanced Karlach or play as a Tiefling? I don't think I'll be earning that free meal anytime soon.
Aylin is literally my least favorite character, including villains so i have no problem killing her. Just wish i didn't need to sacrifice Shadowheart
Ehh kind useless the parasites you need 3-4 per character the rest are meah even for cull the weak it’s not worth it in mid-late game
Wait people actually side with Balthasar? Absolute animals, all of you.
why shouldn’t I?
The tadpole powers aren’t even that great. I only use them for roleplay purposes on durge runs. I love my girls Isobel and Dame Aylin I could never😭
Most ilithid skills suck anyway
Brahhh I was just scrolling and whyyy!?!? Spoiler warning damm ittt! Like u didn’t even pause 😫😫😫
