- There are so many cheap import winches available its hard to decide what one to buy. Thats ok because many of the options are the same product sold by a multitude of different companies. I made my choice and how to wire it into my shytbox. Enjoy!

Just stumbled onto your channel looking for a video on xj front bumper removal and I’ve watched 3 or 4 of your XJ videos already and I got to say I really dig your subtle dry sense of humor, simple videos without unnecessary special effects or added fluff..and the music in your videos is awesome and not stress or anxiety inducing 😎👌🏼
thanks!
Love the video I've got the Tractor Supply traveler 10k winch for my '95 YJ. I'll say it's a bit overkill for my jeep
Looking forward to you testing this, as I am shopping for a winch with the same bumper!
coming soon
I kind of dig the orange 🍊. Especially if you get some orange shackles.
I dig it too...until I installed it. then it just screamed "steal me". Ima do sumthing bout that.
“Never needed a winch…will probably NEVER need a winch”…dang, you sound like ‘ME’…GADGET GUY! 😂 Now that you have the winch installed I’d be painting it black like the Jeep [if it were me] so some smuck wouldn’t follow you home [knowing it was brand new with all that clean orange paint!] and steal it while you’re asleep. Oh, btw, your positive battery cable needs replacing….sorta scuzzily bare on top (is scuzzily a word??? Lol!). I was hoping to see you pulling out the stuff you showed us in the flower beds with the new winch and seeing your neighbor’s facial reaction with the Jeep parked in the street as you did it! Hahahahaha! Great video and I always look forward to seeing a new one from you. Stay safe! ~Jim~ (PS: regarding the Onan in my van: not gonna sell it after all. I’ve decided to just GIVE IT TO YOU on my maiden trip to Nevada and Arizona!…in exchange you can do a couple things for ME on the van maybe?)
we can probably work something out
@@dzlfreek > sounds like a plan! 👍
So, my question is are you planning on mounting the front license plate somewhere else? Or have a quicker way to remove it? Just wondering if you were in a situation where you were trying to help out someone and need to get access to the winch more quickly..? I noticed on the latest video the Texas plate is not shown, curious viewers like me would like some light shown about this...
all will be revealed
@@dzlfreek I can just imagine you creating an evil halloween intro..."welllcoome...to the new Jeep!....(tire screeching) -- then normal voice, "ok that was for DizTraveler..." (rofl)
Quick question with that relay, is it just “power” from the switch and “ground” from the switch to the 2 top terminals then the “power” wire from the winch to one of the side terminals and then “power” wire to the battery from the other side terminal? Or is it wired a different way?
yes, just as you described.
What size bolts did you use mounting the front bumper?
grade 8 -1/2" x 1.5" course thread for the bumper to tie in plate. I still have to find a metric bolt thats longer for the captured not thats in the uni-body. That reminds me, I have to pick up some bolts for the tie-in plates through the uni-body yet.
What bumper did you end up going with?
