The Dune buggy looks pretty cool Seems like that's been around every since I was a kid back in the 70's Though I can't help but wonder if an air-cooled Porsche engine could be used in one of those
Fiero kits can be scary fast with a V8 conversion. The kits for the V8 conversion are readily available and, with a 400-500 hp small block Chevy transplant, the "Fiero" is now a serious threat to the "supercars"...which is why Chevrolet FORCED Pontiac to STOP producing them. They were cutting into Corvette sales by the 1988 model year and that's why that year is only a half year production.
I remember that part of the video I heard every word I remember thinking when you put it that way a V8 doesn't sound that much smaller only 2 cylinders less.
I've built a factory five racing mk4 Cobra. Allot more work and knowledge needed then you would expect but, gotdamn! Worth every second and every penny.
Pontiac Fiero: It's actually a great car to work on, as long it has a *MANUAL TRANSMISSION* along with the V6 engine, hopefully... Myers Manx: It's a dune buggy! You can just simply mod it, throw in big tires and off road it!
@@IdealMediaChannel It's a seriously tough choice for me, but in the end I managed to choose the Pontiac Fiero, because imagine driving the dune buggy anywhere and suddenly the rain comes down, not cool...

I definitely understand the non appeal of the fiero but I've got 2 and I love to throw them around tho none of mine are stock and one of them has the ws6 suspension upgrade the engines are probably easier to take out than putting the body kit on it i can get it out in 2 hours and 3.4 and 3.8s bolt right up and i absolutely love mine
Ahem...cough....Lewis Hamilton would have won 8 Formula 1 championships by now if there hadn't been a huge cock-up during the last race of a season by the race officials which disadvantaged him, and he's won more F1 races than anyone else.
You can always bolt on a V-8 on the back of a Pontiac fiero and re-do the interior and change the whole look and feel of the car with a body kit of your choice
For what it's worth, setting aside the fact that a DYI kit car is cool to be able to say you built it yourself for cheap. The only one I would really want to build is the Factory 5 GTM but even at 25k without the C5 it will end up costing you 35-50k and that's not counting all the hours of labor involved! Sooo I just went out and bought a cheap (8-10k) little Saturn Sky Redline, and with some bolt-on's and a tune I've got a light (2,900lbs) fun roadster making 350 hp at the wheel for around 10-12k, perfect for autocross / road course weekend's.
Honestly thank God to technology and stuff. you can literally make any model and have a luxury car. the difference is the engine but you can fix that there are Lambo engines for sell and other good parts. My buddy got a skyland engine and put it into his replica. It's fun to do diy
Fieros had the ability to dust Camaros, Trans Ams, and even Corvettes of that same era. GM produced the car as an econobox commuter, and was not willing to threaten their other models' performance numbers if the Fiero outperformed their signature rides costing twice and three times more. I had an 86 GT back in the day and would regularly dust Irocs, T/As, and vettes in mountainous twisties. My buddy who was a good driver wrecked his Vette when trying to stay on my bumper.
And byw fast isn't a number. Fast is what happens when you put a skilled and safe driver in nearly any car as long as it's not broken. It's a driving style

The fiero was not a speed monster, as I think they were governed between 80, and 120, but they would burn out like crazy. Fun little cars, that could be made into something scary lol. I mean emagine a fiero, with a built 6.0, or even 6.2, or whatever in the back. Say 600 or more straight to the wheels lol. I doubt it would be possible to hook, but man. As quick as the little cars were with , the 4 bangers, and the v 6, that put out what 180 hp, or so lol.
lol I'm sorry have you seen the Factory 5 kits? For 25k you get the body and that's it. It cost around 50-60k or so to build and that's NOT including the LS/Porsche stuff. Once you do interior , wheels, tires, aero, paint and body works etc etc you will be in for a huge surprise. I was going to do that to my Procharged vette and said oh hell no. The cost was crazy. You may want to do a little more research next time. 50k or so minus the LS/Porsche stuff is not cheap. None of those kits are cheap.CMon man
SL-c Superlight is hands down the best kit car, it’s not trying to pretend it’s something it’s not. You have almost limitless Powertrain options, hell Tavarish bought one with a turbo 3 rotor Mazda and a sequential trans. They look straight up like a GT-1 prototype, have the billion dollar doors and did I mention they aren’t faking to be some other brand?? That fake Lambo did look pretty good tho I gotta admit. If you could source a real Lambo V12 and a real Diablo dash you could have a really convincing fake
You forgot the SLC superlite coupe. It uses about any engine or transaxle although the most common powerplant is the LS Chevy V-8 and the Porsche transaxle. Rolling chassis starts at about $48k
I see my Martini Stratos has made it across the water. It was built Using the comprehensive kit from LB Specialist cars, powertrain is a 3.5Ltr Supercharged V6 Toyota as fitted to the Lotus Evora
