    I ordered some Duck Brand non-adhesive shelf liners from Amazon and used them on the center section of my helmet. If you use that with your second coat of clear you can simulate a carbon fiber weave when the light hits it the right way.

    Question for you. I 3d printed a pokeball . I sand it down also did wet sand . Came out smooth. I hand painted with acrylic paint and it was still looking good. When I put the clear coat spray on it, tho it looks weird. It's not as smooth and looks like gunk I don't know how to describe it but it's not shiny like your helmet

    • @walterrldias
      @walterrldias 2 роки тому

      not sanded at all does not work with FDM... you will see the print lines. This is why people sand the model... it looks crispy. sure you can prime the heck out of it and get rid of the lines, but it will look bulky and uneven. give it a try and you will see pretty quickly that sanding for 15 minutes makes a huge difference.

    I've got a question, whenever I hand paint my prints with acrylic or gives the print a shiny look but I don't want that, is there something I'm not doing correctly? I do prime the print before and sand it

    Hey bro so it's like ,50 degrees here and I decided to paint in my garage. I got some reaction the cracked up and veined up. What is the preferred thing to do when painting? Do I heat the paint up?

    Wish I could see what you see in the paint job with different base coats, none of them look metallic to me. I just chalk it up to cameras and screens don't always show true color.

    Thank you for all of your videos ! Best tutorials we can find here, keep the good job man.
    Also : Is it possible to restart the paint after it dried and been varnished ? My Golden spray paint was not a good one and it ended up reacting with the varnish even 2weeks after it dried... I just want to took off the varnish and paint, and redone it without printing it again. Is it possible ?

      If the paint can dry you can sand it all off, or close as you can. But if it won't sure there may not be another option. Sucks man.

    I looked through your videos and didn’t see a Mando helmet. Mine is just coming off the 3-D printer and I have a lot of content saved on how to do it but I know for this helmet I need it to be super reflective. Do you have any tips?
