Absolutely amazing detailed breakdown of the entire process. Why on earth haven’t I been saving ever last drop of wasted resin in a separate container like that?!? Goal for 2022 is to make a spray booth like that 🤯
Hello there Uncle Jessy Sir😁 Thank you so much for saying that😁 That really means a lot, especially when it’s from someone who I know share’s the same interests. And you’ll be happy to know a «Studio Tour» is coming, and I’ll hopefully put in the making of the spray booth😉 Have a good one, and enjoy the holiday’s with family & friends. Cheers
@@PropsNstuff I'm looking forward to the spray booth part, as I am in dire need of one myself. Don't know where to buy the filter yet w/o "breaking" the bank (yes, I'm a cheapskate).
He said UV Resin and I flipped out, "There's no way that's a cheaper alternative to putty!" and the realization when he finally showed his 3D printing resin was such an aha moment
I'ma be honest, that killed part of my soul when he added plastic eyes instead of lenses. I know it's a prop, but you can't tell me that everyone DOESN'T have a desire to wear a build like this, and NOT be disappointed when you can't see out of it. Lol Great build!
dude i just got into 3d printing ..,and love creating and painting im no pro and never could afford even an airbrush ,, not to mention a freind gifted me this printer or wouldnt have that ,,,i watched you twice while looking for tips on painting the models , and im HOOKED ,,YOU ARE A BEAST!!!!!!!!! i mean after watching your big Thanos i litterally jumped outta my seat and yelled YESS!!!!!
You are correct about the talc. Body fillers are basically just polyester resin, like you would use for fiberglass work, with fillers like talc to create the paste consistency. You can also make your own out of regular polyester or epoxy resin and add in talc or glass bead till you get the consistency you want.
As a fellow prop maker, I must say, you're truly legit. I have been using resin and spray putty interchangeably for years, but your method to add talcum powder is new to me. I've learnt something exciting, can't wait to try it. I don't think dedicated small bottles of uv resin is practical. Just because the props which makers makes are usually very big. One difference is, I use a large UV torchlight and a wider brush than yours to cover wider areas faster. I usually make 8 of these at the same time 🤭 Btw, with masking tape, hardware stores sells low tack(low adhesion) masking tape for hobby paints like this. You're totally right that masking tape will tear off paint, I make masks too and got my fair share of this problem. I'm using the low tack masking tape from 3M now and they save me a ton of rework.
Hello there buddy😉 I'm so glad you found the videos interesting, welcome aboard😁 And hopefully I will upload more this coming year. But remember, I'm just a passionate hobbyist. So I do like to take my time to put in the quality...Hopefully😉 See u around. have a good one, cheers
That makes me so glad to hear Sir😁 Yes, I always try my best to get the best footage as well as telling the prop making story. So I really appreciate it when someone points it out😁 Thanks again, have an awesome day. Cheers
As a total beginner who is trying to get into painting 3D props, this video has been an amazing and detailed walkthrough for me. You deserve way more subs for the quality videos you produce! I would love to see how you did the details on the eyepieces.
Hello there Jelly Bean😉 That's so cool, I'm glad I could help in some way😁 The weathering techniques are usually covered better, but I feel the video was running a bit long....so maybe next time. Or check out some older video of mine. Always different ways to weather something😉 Have a great one, cheers
Such a well detailed video! Thank you for taking the time to explain everything thoroughly! Just got a resin printer to add to my collection so now I know to save some resin!
I am simply blown away with the level of craftsmanship you apply to your props. I've been following you on Insta for some time now, and have always wondered how you could achieve such a high finishing to your Wolverine helmet. Seeing that helmet always brings me back good memories of afternoons on end reading X- Men 90's comics. Such classics. Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
This is exactly what I want to do. I've got my airbrush kit fully ready to go. I need to get a 3D printer and I want to be printing helmets. Loved your DIY booth, this is definitely the channel for me.
you, are a hero!!!! also props from a videographer to you, because you have certainly invested in good recording of your footage and do a good job at editing the video!
Hello there Besi Art😉 Thank you so much for saying that Sir😁 And yes, I'm actually working on a studio tour video these days😉 So it's coming up for sure! Have a great one, cheers buddy
As someone who's read and admired the Wolverine character since the 70's, I tip my proverbial my hat to your skills and enthusiasm. Bravo! On a side note, it's interesting to see this "armoring" of superhero costumes of late. In all honesty, I didn't like it for the MCU Spiderman movies since it wasn't Spidey anymore; more like Iron Man with a spider motif (so I'm glad they fixed it in the last film). That said, if you would've described this Wolvy mask before making it, I would've cringed; however, seeing it tickles my fanboy pysche something fierce. Great work!
This is great! I hated mixing the x3d stuff from smooth on and gave up on it immediately. Definitely really interesting about the powder that was definitely the missing step!
Thank you for saying that Mr. Jack😁 I'm actually going to make a full size figure in pla. So it's been a range of tests to se how I could clean them up fast. And with a good result. Have a good one, cheers
Awesome video. Some of the techniques I knew and many I didn't. I had started dabbling in the resin but honestly just re-using old leftovers of resin never occurred to me.

Came for the smoothing - stayed for the entire video, since it was that good!
Cool👊🏻
So glad you likes it👌🏼

Great build!
Agreed. But an incredible build for sure.
Personally I would have tried to get some cheap sunglasses, pop the lenses out, and use those. 😉
Even Daredevil wants to cosplay sometimes.
that's a quadruple negative right there
Never seen that type of finishing process before with the resin! Genius! Definitely gonna be giving that a try. This turned out phenomenal!
Thank you so much for that Mr. Luke😊 Have a great one, cheers
This is amazing. Thanks for sharing your process!
Thanks 😀Glad you liked it. Have a great day😉 Cheers
Resin is WONDERFUL to paint, another added benefit.
NIce, clear and with a patience is key undertone, there is no fast way!
Hey there Mr. Peter😁 Yes, exactly. Like everything in fine work, and prop painting and making. "Go slow, to go fast" Have a great one, cheers
Great advice!!
This will be a 100% game changer in my finishing workflow! Thank you!!
Thanks!
Sir, I must say that your video was art to my eyes. Not only for your skills, but also the video production itself. Cheers!
Wow, thank you! You're to kind, but it really makes my day😁 Cheers

Can you still get talc? Doesn't it have asbestos in it?
This is a great use of leftover resin! I am stealing this idea!
Please do! Makers always gonna share ideas right😉 Have a good one buddy, cheers
i really appreciate ur attention to detail! this will help immensely for my 3d printed dp3 wolverine cowl
Very good video. I'm very happy someone made a video on this, I've been doing this for some time and I thought I was the only one. Thanks for sharing
