I still say the best combo is living with a Filipiina in Thailand. They make the best mates, and Thailand wins hands down for just about everything else from a foreigners perspective like the few things you mentioned. You can't find a hotel that nice in a major PI city for $40. It would easily be 80-100.
What a coincidence. We stopped at this Thai South food restaurant yesterday and had a fantastic meal of Bucking deer and raw shrimp salad. That restaurant had only been open for 10 days. I love south food, so friggin spicy.

CB's the man I love his channel and cream pai is a beast, too bad you did not follow him through a tunnel he is like a little kid with a toy. Those scooters never really took off where I live I guess one reason is winter it's really cool how necessity breeds innovation in countries like Thailand and the Philippines I like those little Suzuki's that they hop up in the Philippines.

I took it to Tijuana and had it "souped up" to 405 hp with automatic fuel injection and had everything under the hood chromed (1974 - 1982). Nice E30 Chad. I've had 3 but none with the M series 4.0 liter V8...whew!!, I'll bet your stomach has to play catch up on accelleration. Good choice of hotels Tim. An engineer friend of mine either goes to Angeles City or Pattaya about 3 times a year. He tells the family that he's going "diving" and from the pics I've seen,, diving is an understatement, LOL!!
When I lived on Maui, my friend on Kauai invited me over. The first day he lent me his convertable MG to cruise the island with. So fun! Then that night I used his small bread truck type van with power and even a mixer in it. I stayed at a beach park all night, mix d margaritas and had a blast with people camping on the beach.
The napkins are often in the bathroom while the toilet paper is on your dinner table. It's just one of those things that makes me smile about Thailand. 😀

Then a power transmitter across the street blew and we thought a bom went off. He was such a nice guy had no idea he was a youtuber as well. I even have a photo of his exhaust as i was like i want that for my bike lol Small world....

I will answer that question. It is only Americans that do the tipping thing it does happen in the Philippines but is not essential. I am Australian and it does not happen here only if you want to but it is not expected and neither it should be anywhere in the world. Pay the workers a decent wage and there is no need for tipping.

i like it when you travel overseas its a new adventure like the dudes bmw series 3 i had one but only 1.8 litre 1986 had a body kit and it was white too but gutless in power lol my dream toy was my indian scout 2022 had it 6months and some scum stole it in july so now no bike i get another next year maybe harley or truimph?
Seems like some of the shine of PI has worn off for you. I dreamed of retiring there but I don't want to deal with my wife's family. Bad enough with them half way across the world from my beloved Texas.

In Thailand it's always a nice gesture to give a few tip (money)after a good meal.infact after every meal unless something was wrong.
Thai's don't tip though
Thailand in some ways is the country the Philippines could adopt a few things. Especially in infrastructure and tourism. Geographic challenges aside.
