I can remember a little bit when I was a child and saw Airindia's 747 fly in the sky twice.
But the dream of seeing her closer again remained as a dream.
This scene is very nostalgic and emotional for aviation lovers like us.
My love for planes came from this B747. And now 747 s are slowly disappearing. only air india had 747 in India, and that too can't be seen now. Which is very sad.

Yes it's the end of an era 💔
AirIndia could've retained these planes or would've purchased 747-8i s keeping in mind the huge fan bases. Lufthansa, British and others still operate 8i s. Though modern twin jets produce an enormous thrust than produced by 4 engines of 747-400s and fuel efficient as well still 747s is an emotion that no flier would deny.
Actually the main issue to maintain a Jumbo is fuel efficiency and maintenance cost. Brishti airways don't have any Boeing 747-8 for passengers.
