    As luck would have it, Scott Corey was planning a restock of his products the morning I released this video. The amount of people waiting around on the site for release caused the server that supports his site to crash.

    Im just getting back into skating and unfortunately have to rebuild my skates due to aging. I came across your video and enjoyed the info since being out the loop for so long. I want some quality items when rebuilding my skates. These wheels sound awesome. Need to get my hands on some

    I finally landed a set of Scott Corey wheels with super d hubs. They’re going to pair with my Bont protege jam boots well.

    These were no doubt inspired by the original Wicked Lips wheels that became popular in the mid 90's. The lo-pro urethane in flashy colors with the polished aluminum hub. Speed skating wheel basically. I never had a set of them because they were rather expensive...like $120-130 even back then and I already had a decent set of mid-tier wheels, but I always thought those looked bad ass.

    Wow I bought a set of Fan jets in 1984 for $200 New Zealand when I was 14 years old and yes they were really good for speed skating to,if you have a pair you will know what I'm saying,I'm 53 now and still talk about how great they were.

    Seems like it's become nearly impossible to get any of the high-end wheels. What is the recommendation for a non-clip quad wheel when you can't get anything? I saw Bont pre-sold out of their new high-end wheel also. Wow. Seems like there is a demand. Love your info! Thanks brother!

      I wish I had a good personal recommendation that I could make.. but I’ve not been in the market for new wheels for a long time now. What I can say is that I’ve heard Anabolix is a decent competitor. And that they have a similar roll to Corey wheels with the exception that they don’t hold up to abuse as well.. but I’ve never used them so I can’t confirm any of that. You’d need to do some research to find out more.

      @@DeezSkates I reached out to JG Hubs. That is awesome stuff! Basically can't get the tires. He is working on a new supplier but it is in the early stages he says. Messaged anabolix but judging by the facebook activity it does not look good. About every post has several people interested with no response. I am like you. Whatever wheels I have are 5+ years old. I don't even know what they are. I think a hyper something. I remember the era of wicked lips and witch doctors lol. Sure grip power plus was a big one too. I did not mind the clip-on tires until I saw people claiming to rip them off. Totally new concept to me. If you get some info secretly send it to me. haha

      You can order Anabolix directly from their website. I would not try to get their wheels through Facebook.

    Whats up bruddah! Hey I have both Enforcers and Hebegb's with cory thane. I really feel like the Cory Thane cant be beat by any mass prodo, least not that Ive seen. Ive had both sets for years. Ive tried all the wheels on the market unless they are brand spanking new . I havent skated as much this yr as I would have liked but both sets still have grooves , that goes to show for the wear on them. Hebegbs are running micro bearings and I just havent found a awesome set of cleanable micros yet. I buy the metal Bont micros when I have the funds to throw away but the hebes see the shelf more just because the bearing issue. But I like the hebes more for a few reasons, the large hub profile makes you feel fancy and your wheels tend to stand out more. The low profile tire gives you a different feel with that same cory thane character we all love and know that I really like over the enforcers. They dont take very long to warm up to make them start sticking when ya need them too, i find with my enforcers they can take a while to get warmed up to that on the spot grip I like and sometimes they let go a lil early so i havent been able to have as much confidence with flying around at higher speed with say a speed skate or even a fast backwards , Im worried they will let go and ill slide out. These are nit picky things. Overall i would buy either one all over again without thinking about it much and thats why ppl who have them dont complain much about the price , we understand they are hand made and one should be even lucky to have a set or 2. when you buy a set of wheels from cory its an investment,- but itll pay for itself in the long run of buying manufactured wheels that wear out in a fraction of the time! allways enjoy your videos bro!!

    Yes you pronounced HeBeGbs correctly. 😆 I have two pair of Scott’s and they dominate all my wheels. Close second is Anabolix but they slide pretty good when you get to the same hardness at Scott’s. The Anabolix in-line wheel I like a lot.

    Ive always wanted a pair of these. The guys I skate with all have wheel shopping problems. One guy, who owns one of the rinks i go to said he only buys vintage wheels because newer wheels are made so poorly, and Corys are so hard to get. Another guy I skate with destroys his constantly, and goes through a pair about every 3-6 months. He's really hardcore though, and cant usually do the Clip backed wheels, because he said hes caused several pair to pop off the hub. o.O
    Right now my Backspin Eclipse wheels are doing fine for me. But since I got to several rinks, my grip differs from floor to floor (even though they're all wood, they're all finished differently). The guys I skate with all recommend I have several pairs for each rink, but I'd love a pair that can handle all floors. If Corys are as good as I hear, I wonder if they'd provide what I'm looking for.

    • @DeezSkates
      @DeezSkates  Рік тому +1

      I won’t say they’ll be exactly the same for every floor, but imo they tend to keep the extremes that I experience with other wheels to a minimum. I skate my 95a Enforcers on every surface indoors and haven’t found one yet they don’t feel good on.

      Cheap when you think about the fact that these last longer than any other wheel out there. If you pay $220 once landed in the US. Vs Paying $125-$160 depending on the wheel you go with, replacing it 3-4 times with a new set by the time the Scotts even start to show their wear, let alone need replaced.

      Idk about that man. I spoke with him directly while this video was in production and he was making wheels at that time. The day this video released, he had a sale on his website where he launched a run of wheels. This video is less than a year old. I have seen launches of wheels since then. He also still makes wheels for Bont South Korea. That’s where the majority of his wheels go.
