For those saying it's a dumb test, do a race, blah blah blah... They did test the cars more then just doing burn outs. The two cars were tested on a dynamometer, ZR1 beat the Viper. And to quote an article about the tests Edmunds has done: "Edmunds, already beating the Viper around a road course, on the dyno and at the dragstrip with the ZR1, decided to take both cars to the Willow Springs circuit..."
I think to a higher degree for the zr1. It's a car that you can push to it's limits and it's happy to go there all day everyday. The viper on the hand isn't as willing, in fact some of the guys out at Laguna Seca can't even get close to the zr1 times in the viper because it's so inconsistent.
Shorter burnout can also be a good thing: the car has more traction and therefore can put more power down to the tarmac. But I understand this was just for fun :)

People should realize that the viper engine is well capable of being at right under hyper car limits that v10 can be tuned and be naturally aspirated put out over 800 horses

I am at car get togethers all the time and have seen a few zr1s doing burnouts. Haven't seen a new viper out yet but Muscle cars and burnouts just go together imo.

Corvette Zr1 is obviously a much better car better in every way better handling faster and more refined. the corvette even sounds better than the viper and does an awesome burn out haha. viper is not even in the same class with the corvette especially not with the new stingray and the new c7 zo6. Viper is more of a muscle car while the corvette is a world class supercar.

True, but these have been designed specifically with speed and fun in mind. Where as most supercars are designed just for boring track test numbers.

Look up the 2013 srt viper. It has 355's on rear standard and 295's front standard.

I love zr1 but to much burn out is actually a bad thing when racing. At least it helps to show off though.

nope, the 2013 uses OEM 355s in the back and 295s in the front. the ZR1 uses 335s in the back and 285 front.
