If you'd have told me 25 years ago I'd still be listening to this and it would still be hilarious, I'd have said you were crazy. But 1998 is calling. Heywood has just gotten better. Why he's not a superstar, I'll never understand.
I remember years ago, we had to perform this on stage in high school band. I was th one doing vocals. We had somewhere close to 30 individual toasters being beaten on. It was a disaster lol.
I've seen Heywood Banks 3 times in person and when I was singing along to his songs he let me sing solo while performing the new verse of Big Butter Jesus!
I downloaded the mp3 of this song when I was a kid and it had the Bob and Tom Show bit at the end. So when I heard his modern rendition on TikTok, I knew all the words still but tilted my head at the end like, wait. That used to say Bob and Tom! 😂 What an unlocked memory!
This is hilarious and so surreal. I said out loud "Yeah, I want my sandwich toasted" to my mom --- the "OK GOOGLE" activated and said "sure, i've found some songs about toast for you" and pulled this up first. I genuinely cried I laughed so hard.
aw i miss the caveman verse :( when cavemen first stepped in from the dregs didnt know what would go with the bacon and the eggs mustve been a genius, got it in his head plug the toaster in the wall, buy a bag of bread, make toast
No offense but I hate Bob and Tom. I work at a nursing home and I listen to a bunch of old farts laugh at their own jokes all day long...I need a break man.
I used to listen to this since I was a kid. Man it's been years. Standing waiting to go to school. Cassette player with a radio.
Good times and memories! I/we did also! 😅
Same!!!!
😂 I used to mow my yard with this on cassette in my ears
I personally only discovered this song about 2 years ago ago! Safe to say I’m obsessed now though.
Yes! Heard it every morning on the radio going to school. 😂 Just introduced it to my tuna on toast loving son 😊

This has popped into my head randomly for YEARS.
Nearly 15 years later and they are all still having the most fun eved with this song and that toaster. God bless.
That toaster is going to be worth a lot of money one day.
Always been my favorite Heywood Banks songs. So many groups have done this.

The 90s were the best. Glad it's being kept alive.
The toaster is dented from him making this song!🤣
I grew up listening to my dad's alarm clock blaring Bob and Tom for hours.. never realized 20 years later I'd be seeking it out on youtube

This is, in fact, the best thing.
Did not realize till the end that he was hitting a toaster.
I like the burnt toast addition but I think he needs the keep the caveman part, lol.
@@offtherails4quails391 My favorite part is French Toast!
This is Heywood's 'Stairway To Heaven.'
Yeah, toast!
Love it!
I remember back when it was only two verses, and ended with "In Chicago and in Detroit . . .
. . .

. . .
. . .
. . . YEAH, TOAST!"
My God that was freaking hilarious 😂 LMAO
The Bob and Tom show always has the best skits and songs not gonna lie.

This is cocaine for older people.
Aside from the actual, you know, cocaine.
Retirement homes are insane.
So weird to see the face of the voice after all these years.
Toast🍞🍞

I think they need to freshen up their program. They should call themselves the Tom and Bob show now.
Reminds me of Les Claypool. I suspect Les is inspired by this guy
T😂
Hrrjjrjr

Then choose a different avocation , cause it ain't gonna change !
