    I cant believe how far welders have come. My father was a welder for over 30 years and if he were still with us I'm sure he would be so impressed with this awesome technology

    I've toyed with getting a welder for some time but didn't want to spend six or seven hundred bucks for the few times I would use it. Two hundred bucks is much easier to swallow. This machine will handle any welding task I would have. Great review! Keep 'em coming.

    Welding stick will be plus or minus depending on what electrodes you are using. Usually "rutile" electrodes are connected to minus, and they are easier to weld, while "basic" electrodes are connected to plus, and give a stronger weld.

    Not bad at all! I'd really like to know how it 'holds up' in the long term.
    One more thought, I'd like to see this run off a generator on 120 VAC to be used, say, for a remote jobsite, this hopefully, will impress me.

    Noticed that the box said 7th Gen but the machine said 9th Gen, I believe that the 7th Gen is only a 120 machine while the 9th Gen is a 120/240 (at 14:10 min)

    Thanks for this video. That sure does look like a nice device at a very good price. When using the gas, does it only flow when the wire is moving? I just checked the price on Amazon and it shows $159.99 with free next day delivery for Prime members.

    Hi Dony, I just wanted to ask, what should be the breaker's rating (amp) if I'm using 110V and welding 1/4" steel with mig?

    • @donyboy73
      @donyboy73  Місяць тому +1

      I think 60 amps, but check with an electrician first!

    Great review Don and if I may your welding has come a long way.
    Question, when using 110, what size breakers do you need in the house or garage? 15a or 20a.
    Cheers

  • @WJCTechyman
    @WJCTechyman 4 місяці тому

    Well, some may have a 120/240 V outlet in their garage, especially if they have a battery electric car. Another method to get 240 V is buying a generator cord and plugging it into your dryer outlet through an adapter plug at each end and running it to your garage. Of course, it really depends on the run length between your dryer outlet and the garage and this makes a bit of an impact on how much power you actually get from a 30 A rated generator cord.

      @@donyboy73 I found it on Amazon and it is very confusing. Are you saying one would have to buy the Bestarc 145 plus a TIG-17V Air-Cooled Lift Tig Torch because for $192 it looks like they come together.
      To be honest, I would not trust something that sounds to good to be true.

    just a quick note in cas eno one knows as i myself didnt until recently. even though you can do stick, solid, mig and tig you dont get a tig torch and you still need gas to do those welding techniques..only flux core is gasless otherwise it trips the breaker or the welds are too weak
