I've been running Schwalbe Marathon Almotion 29x2.15 Tubeless for 5 years & haven't had a single flat. The Almotions are excellent tires. There are a couple different tubeless sizes of Almotions.

Nice video as always. I once managed over 20,000 km on a Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour . It was pretty worn to be fair but I think another couple of thousand would have been ok….was more worried about losing traction rather than getting a puncture. Thanks for the video, very helpful…😊

One thing i would add from my own experience when using tubeless sealant in freezing temperatures, some sealants manage the cold better than others. I have used Stans no tubes at -20 celsius without problems but in my local biking community, brands like Orange or Panacer starts to harden. And i have heard that Schwalbe sealant is a good one as well (but i havent tried it my self, or anyone that i know).
Also i agree with adding a little more extra sealant specially if you put a new tire.
Yes that’s important, I have no much experience in extreme cold. The lowest temperature was a few days in Poland but it was like only -12 I think.

Now a very important question related to tire size for touring, From your experience please, i was wondering if you can help me choose,Between two bikes for my Adventure that i will be starting soon from Barcelona departing from Algeria. and willing to only cycle on roads ( very rarely gravel )
the Breezer X or X pro that both have i think 29" ( both have clearance for bigger tires ) or The Breezer Radar Expert that has thinner 45c tires
I'm looking for comfort in riding i will have a trailer in the back to put less weight on my bike and spokes because i'm already heavy enough but not fat lolz ( 96 kg ) i liked when you suggested to always go for the biggest tires that the clearance allows and i guess your answer will be to go for the Breezer X or X Pro
So in your opinion my good sir and from your experience does the geometry of the breezer Radar expert count alot and its thiner tires or shall i just go with the big tires ( will i be too slow on the road ? )

Sorry for the late reply, I must have missed your comment. I am not familiar with those bikes but I would go for the bike that can fit larger tires. The trailer is not a good solution though, it will give you problems and it's not easy to ride uphill and downhill.
@@DavideTravelli thanks for the answer so what i did i just went for an MTB ! and as i dont have alot of mounting points on it ( Bulls copperhead 3 2022 ) i didnt want to put too much on the bike and the spokes. so i'm willing to buy the Burley COHO xc its a trailer with only one wheel i know its not the best idea because it will slow me but i'm not looking to race and just go slowly and enjoy the senary ( atleast the MTB has 180 mm disk brakes and hydraulics ) i bought it for 500 euro ! it was a great deal and the breezer radar cost 1300 with only 160 mm disk brakes that are not fully hydraulics ! anyways thank you for the answer now i have big tires and a comfortable bike with the trailer ! i'll be suffering in silence on uphills lol
Very informative and helpful. Before each tour of any reasonable length I find myself trying to decide which set-up will be best - tube or tubeless. Thankyou for making it all a bit clearer. One difficulty I've had with tubeless, is seating a replacement tyre when I don't have a compressor or CO2 cartridge. I may just need to buy a higher volume pump. Otherwise, tubeless is pretty much set-and-forget.
Yeah my experience is that you need a compressor only when you replace the tire. I usually replace the tires, fill it with sealant, pump it up then cycle to a bike mechanic/car mechanic/tire shop/gas station and finish sealing.

I usually "paint" the inside of the tire wirh the sealant. Perhaps just a superstition, lol

QUESTION: Which tire design do you recommend for sandy tracks and coasts if using with tubes and greater than or equal 2 inches?
If you’re going for a Marathon plus I would go with a Marathon Plus MTB. Not sure what’s the widest t he y do probably 2.15” or 2.2”

I use tubes and put sealant inside the tube and have had only a couple of flats in 8 years in regular mtb tires. It doesn't seal holes from nails but seals from thorns. I've seen the sealant come out of the tube and tire to the outside and after it dries I just pump up the air lost and keep pedaling. With the sealant in the tube there is no mess if I need to patch it or change tires. I've even squeezed the sealant from an old tube and re-used it in a new tube even though a lot had already dried inside but some could be salvaged. I wonder if other people use tubes and sealant.

I like the Schwalbe Wicked Will / Magic Mary also great, they are a bit softer than your Nobby Nick, maybe try them?

@@DavideTravelli Correct the Addix S compounds are softer, and run less miles, while not being a more economic buy, so yes slightly more expensive on a distance as you pull :D But than maybe for shorter trips, and people thinking Schwalbe doesn't make them, they do but that comes with a consequence. Yes. :) Good luck on your travels! When you compare them with the same brand than yes the Rapid Ron's are possibly better to get the distance out. But comparing the Addix S compound tyres they produce against a Goodyear...or Continental, or Maxxis, or such...well...than I would still choose the Addix S since of well. You tried them it seems. I think they are awesome though specially in corners and with stretches of road in between. That is all I can say about the tyres. When I became older and less balanced, I started to use these, and they saved my trips often. But yes, the distances you pull are great, and also awesome, :D Schwalbe should be sponsoring you sir. They should make you a tyre to test an equal for your kinds of use, which is becoming more and more popular. So I hope they will have your feedback and set up a test run on a mixed compound. Would be cool since you stretch them to the absolute max. Good luck!
Any suggestions for Schwalbe Marathon tires to fit a 30mm ID rim on a 29er? Ie; which model. Would fit the rim best. Am.ideally looking for something between 2.1 and 2.3

I had someone who brought me two tires in Uganda. I was carrying a compact foldable one but it was unnecessary.

If you cross the whole continent just have two new tires shipped in the middle. Plus size tires are available probably only in South Africa and Namibia. But you either find someone that travels somewhere in the middle or get them shipped. It's easy to find people who travel to africa, so many diplomats, NGOs, expats, aid etc.

Volevo chiederti, sai come potrei portare una cassa d'acqua e tutta la spesa in bici? Inoltre più che questo, poiché ci sono quasi riuscito, vorrei chiederti, sai per caso come posso custodire al melgio la bici mentre sono dentro il supermercato a fare la spesa? Grazie mille! ❤
Ciao! Boh prova a fissare una cassetta al rack con delle cinghie e ci metti dentro acqua e spesa. O delle borse tipo Ortlieb e le riempi con spesa ed acqua. Con la bici carica io entro nel supermercato e la lascio alle casse, con una bici normale presumo te la facciano lasciare fuori e la chiudi con un lucchetto
