  • Hi, I'm Armon. Nice to meet you!
In 2022 I decided to give up my normal life due to severe depression and backpain and start travelling by unicycle and bicycle to find a new lifestyle and recover my mental and physical health to whatever degree is possible.
Follow my journey as we discover various different countries, cultures and nature and fight with the elements in quest of finding the lost spoke in the wheel of life.
In this episode I'm trying to cycle a 1000km nonstop, which failed so much faster than i'd like to admit. The attack from a dogpack however has nothing to do with this failure.

With dogs, I can understand your frustration - one trick I learned is to get off your bike and calmly talk to the dogs. They don't understand bicycles and are protecting their territory. But I can fully understand throwing rocks when you're passing by, many tourers have the same solution.

Yeah i totally understand the dogs, their just doing their job. Interesting, that never helped me, since they switch back to attack mode as soon as you're on the bike again.
I really don't like throwing rocks at dogs, especially not an entire group of them. I'm scared to make them properly angry. It's the first time i actually did that.
But these sheperd dogs were just utterly relentless.

Hi Armon! Just discovered your channel and the videos from your trip across the Balkan and Greece. Great landscapes, great people you meet on the road. Very inspiring to me. Regards from Poland!

Bit late to the game because I was out and about myself, but... Since you haven't gotten much reply to your question about least favourite conditions, here's one anyway.
I mostly struggle with heat (especially combined with high humidity, as we've been having in Central Europe lately) and with... Call it continous travel, maybe. I need regular rest days, or at least a reguar change in travel method. Like, say, staying at the same campsite for two days for a day hike, or leaving the bike to kayak down a river and picking it back up afterwards. It keeps my head clear because you get very different perspectives on landscapes and the like, so travel fatigue doesn't set in as quickly, and it also means taxing my body less by changing up the type of workout before my disabilities act up and force me to take longer breaks. Something like these 1000km in one go? You have my fullest respect for even attempting it. Looking forward to seeing how it works out!

Nice, where did you go around?
Good ideas! Usually when I take a break i'm either sleeping or editing 😅
Might have to rethink this approach!

@@LostSpoke I had to cancel both of the bigger trips I had planned this year due to family emergencies, so I've been compensating with some local exploring. Some day trips on the motorcycle, a bunch of hiking, and some days at the various lakes close by. Both me and the disabled Russian street mutt I adopted last year have to walk a lot to keep our impairments in check, and eventually I realized that just about any walk in a 40+km radius we took crossed at least one long-distance hiking trail, so... Currently doing a sort of deep-dive and thoroughly testing out whether they're really as bad as their reputation.
I've sort of been thinking about making a UA-cam channel of my own out of it, if I can manage to scrounge up a camera somewhere. Not really convinced there's an audience for my eclectic mix of interests, but... Could be fun to finally have something to remember my adventures by, the next time I end in a wheelchair and go mad with cabin fever...
