This is a world premier in 4K! Today April 7th Hermès officially launches its new wristwatch H08. In this video you may discover the entire collection with all its facets. I can promise that you will like and be astonished to see what you discover. Hermès has done its homework and presents an absolut cool watch. Top design meets an in-house calibre and top notch quality...
I asked Hermès: What were the expectations when creating this new men's line?
"Alexander, we wanted to create a contemporary watch, strongly anchored in the Hermès all-terrain, 'multi-vital' masculine universe. It was a desire to express our values, to embody them. This timepiece embodies 'the Hermès take on contemporary masculinity'. It is adaptable. We adorn urban, travelling men who go everywhere. They are involved in the heat of the action, while also seeking comfort and ease. It had to be a beautiful object in which the materials, shapes and lines would give life to a unique expression of Hermès watchmaking. We wanted a robust, geometric, assertive and sensual object. There was also a quest for lightness through the materials and a strong desire to integrate the strap into the creation. We needed a timeless timepiece with elegance, free and audacious, neither conservative nor status-affirming. It had to be an expression of contemporary classicism."

The titanium version with the orange strap is gorgeous 👍😊
Agreed!
Can't believe I just watched a 40 mins video, it was so entertaining it felt like 15 mins. It is always so pleasing watching such good quality videos.
What a compliment! Thank you! Love your comment!
Great release from Hermes! Really interesting. A kind of Patek 5167 alternative. And thankfully not in green.
He he! Love your comment ;-))
Very similar to Vacheron quai de lile.

Thanks for your hard works! I am considering this model. The all black one looks great, but the orange strap one seems to be better value though! I always enjoy your videos!
Bravo! Congratulations! Thanks for your feedback and sharing our passion! Please let me know if you have any questions…
Great video, got so much details, thanks so much.Could you give me smoe advices about purchasing a watch,5000-6000eur budget, select from H08,seamaster diver 300m,tudor black bay.
What exactly are you looking for? Maybe I can help a bit, Ill try at least ... But that's so difficult, since tastes are different... 😉
Very tempted, but 39 cushions case usually bigger than a normal round 39. Really need to try on for my small writs. design amazing i just wish the date function on the 3hr . Cant wait to see if they offer differ dial color in the future .
Please share your thoughts after you had the "H08" on your wrist and let us know which one is your favorite... If you have questions, let me know...
I have this watch and there is just one major problem. The rubber strap is wayyy to long on my 16cm wrist. I have visited several hermes boutique over the past few months, and I can confirm that there isnt a smaller strap size option
Hermès is aware of the fact and works on a solution ... a smaller strap...
Thats wonderful news! Thanks for the tip! Will keep an eye out on this
This is why I didn’t buy one. I asked if they couldn’t simply punch an extra hole and was informed they would not. 3 years of development and never tried on a medium wrist? I suppose they are learning = I’m rooting for them.
I bought one! I don’t know if i misunderstood the bracelet initially? Or if they added more holes in the strap? But it now almost fits my tiny wife’s wrist.
I love it! Thanks for the great review.
@dska2294 did you order a new strap? When bought new, straps come in a standard size..
Nice watch from Hermès, I really dig it. Great presentation as well! Btw. to my knowledge Graphene was used by Richard Mille before but afaik this was a million dollar watch. So that's still impressive what Hermès did!
Thanks for sharing! Didn't know this about the RM watch... Do you know which model it was?
I quite like this watch. Aesthetically I much prefer it to the Octo.
A different approach I would say... Both the Hermes H08 and the Bulgari Octo are very unique watches...
Two brands who are creating their own design language instead of copying everyone else.
Really big . I prefer the cape cod .
Have you actually ever tried it on your wrist?
Is the clasp of the graphite watch also made of graphite?
Titanium!
3 years to design and they got the size wrong. Beautiful watch but by being too big becomes clumsy. A shame ... if it would be about 35mm I would order one now
You have to try the watch on your wrist! Only then you will know if it is really too big...
@@WatchAdvisor it’s the size of an iwatch... it’s pretty obvious...
any idea on the lug width? i tried on a 20 today and it was slightly loose.
You own an H08? Why don’t you take a ruler and just measure the distance?
I went to the shop but they said not available?
What delay/waiting time did they announce?
@@WatchAdvisor I put my name on waiting list
Did they tell you how long you have to wait?
@@WatchAdvisor no they said we gonna inform you when they will receive

Who actually makes them ? JLC?
I clearly mention it in the video: Hermes is a watchmaker! Has its own calibres, own case, own dial and own strap manufactory.

Vaucher makes the movement!
This is a fashion watch but at this price watch shoppers usually look for serious watch making and not fashion brands. Who is target audience for this watch willing to spend good money on a fashion watch?
THIS IS NOT A FASHION WATCH! Please watch the video and try to understand the approach of Hermès to understand this...
@@WatchAdvisor watched the entire video, still not sure who Hermes has in mind as the target audience
Maybe you aren't aware Hermes have made their own watches in Switzerland since 1978? Vaucher movements are extremely high end - and Hermes part owns them, as Alexander explains. Hermes are legit. For £4.5k it is very good value!
I’m the target audience. A watch collector with Rolex, blancpain, breguet, jlc and breitling already. I think the watch looks cool, it’s a bit different it has a legit in house movement, 100m water resistance. You buy this watch because you like it and you don’t worry about what other people think.
@@brysogaexactly. I own Rolex, Omega, Cartier, Seiko, Gshock, Orient, etc as well as the H08. This watch is for a collector with a wide and varied collection. I understand people who might only have one high quality piece not understanding why someone would buy this over an Omega or Rolex however this watch is truly for the watch collector in the know who also understands Hermès is the pinnacle of luxury wears and recognizes they’ve maintained that high standard in their watches as well.
You just can’t buy one, very forward thinking design.
Go for a touch and feel and put them on your wrist... let me know what you think thereafter...
Hope it is not going to be like a Leica watch!
?????
@@WatchAdvisor a high end fashion leather manufacturer and a Leica camera brand trying to branch into the watch industry and as I know Leica watches are not doing that well and will Hermes be the same but I think the price is reasonable for Hermes not like Leica.
You should watch the videos on our channel explaining that Hermès is a REAL watchmaker… Obviously you are not aware of the fact, I assume you wouldn’t have written this then …
@@WatchAdvisor Hermes will never be like Rolex, AP, PP because they have too many range of products
@@MTMT-wm2dq Are you aware of Hermès watchmaking? I don’t think so…
No thanks
Hermes should stick to birkin bags
Tastes are different!
A week ago, people buy Hermes watches in hope of getting allocated Birkin bags. This new watch is one that will be sold based on its own merits.
I love your comment! Thanks for sharing!
I've tried it in store and it was quite nice on my wrist, the folding clasp is really
, really good. My only drawback is that the dial feels a bit empty and with the current color it looks a bit like an empty frying pan. Also it wears bigger than a 41mm datejust. I will wait for this watch to come in funny lively color dial and bracelet. Currently, only hermes orange, blue and black exist, which is a bit depressing for a sport watch. This watch has it place on a boat or a beach in the summer and needs summer colors like, sky blue, lavender, sunset dial, etc or pistachio green like the new Breitling. And more colors for the bracelets as well. Then I'll buy it!
Thanks for sharing your first impressions with us and thank you for the input... Hermès is reading here, they will like your input ... by the way I told them almost the same concerning the straps and the color of the dial... A blue one must follow...
You are right on point with your comments. This is definitely a watch I look forward to buying when they get More interesting colours and I would love to see this in rose gold material.
I have purchased this watch on the titanium bracelet and love it! However I really want the orange rubber strap and haven’t had any luck in trying to source it, including where I originally purchased the watch. If anyone has the strap and clasp and willing to sell please let me know or if anyone can point me in a direction that would help in acquiring the strap, that would also be greatly appreciated!
Send an email to alexander [@] watchadvisor [.] com and I will forward it to the appreciate person in Brügg where Hermès has its watch HQ in Switzerland…
I reached out to Hermes customer service in the US to try to obtain an orange strap for mine, and they told me they dont sell extra straps
The trend is supplying multiple straps with other competitors = Cartier Santos or Paneri as 2 examples. Obviously Hermes offers excellent leather options else where, could be an opportunity to get into the strap market?
Nice watch, price is spot on. I dont like the dial colour, i prefer white. Also prefer Chronograph. Will i but one? yes if its white. It kinda give me the vibes of Tissot prx. This year seems to be the year of the angler designs which honestly i prefer. So fed up with same rolex and omega designs
Out of all of the recent watch releases (rolex, omega, breitling, iwc, etc.) Hermés hit it out of the park. Its an understated watch that be worn everyday on the strap and also double as a dress(ier) watch on the bracelet. Not to mention it has an in-house movement not an off the shelf ETA or sellita movement. Not sure how good the movement is but in house is always a plus. Its priced fairly, given what we know, and once it hits the gray market it'll be even cheaper.
The movement is actually by Vaucher manufacture, they provide movements to Parmigiani. So yes, they are pretty good. I don t know about where can you get it serviced, but it s a pretty high end watch, and a beautiful one too.
Love the watch. Great presentation Alexander.
Thank you! Hermès is a real watchmaker with a good taste and it shows...
Great review, thanks for bringing it to us. Bravo Hermes! This raises the bar for what we should expect from the big watch brands - they should be ashamed in comparison. This superb watch makes the Big 4 (and Zenith, TAG, Panerai!) look lazy and greedy. Great looking (sophisticated original design), a fantastic Vaucher movement, full lume, waterproof, light and thin! Is it so hard for a watch to do it all if Hermes can do it from the ground up? A fair price too (note to IWC, Panerai!!). A brilliant clasp that looks better engineered than most big brands'. A sensibly sized Moser Pioneer for 1/3rd the cost. For the sake of the women in my life (who adore Hermes), I'd love to see a smaller size offered too. A 28/32/34? Maybe should have noted that Hermes' history in watchmaking is pretty serious and longstanding.
There is nothing one could add to your comment ... BRAVO! Thank you for sharing! The H08 will evolve... step by step... 😉
Outstanding in depth review and hugely watchable channel. Thank you for entertaining us watch addicts 🙏👏👏👏
You are very welcome! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and passion with us... In case you still have questions, please let me know...
Would love to pick up this watch because of its versatility with the various strap/bracelet options. Haven't had much luck finding options online, which makes me hesitant to buy the watch.
Where are you based? Do you have an Hermes boutique close to you? They should showcase and sell all watches...
I like the watch and what Hermes is offering. But the watch seems to wear on the large size based on your video. Any thoughts on the suggested minimum wrist size? Are there options for a shorter strap for a better fit on a smaller wrist?
The best is as always to try the watch in real on your wrist... Even though I only have a 17 cm wrist it wore excellent - at least this was/is my impression...
Really like this watch. A+++++
Nice video mate 🇺🇸. Great job
Clasp details very nice, but the case and dial, look like 500e micro-brand.
No! I disagree completely...
Eine der Marken auf die ich am meisten gespannt war, seit der Slim bin ich ein Fan. Sind aus meiner Sicht total unterschätzt.
Sehe ich genau so! danke für Dein Feedback!
The clasp with the micro adjustment is very innovative. Hermes has over the years made some terrific watches. Although it’s a very unique design, I can’t help wondering that it does look a lot like a Bell and Ross BR05. Great video, thank you.
Don't try to compare the H08 to bell & Ross or any other brand/model ... go and put it on your wrist and if your heart tells you it is beautiful watch believe it ...
Needs a smaller size and pin buckle. 39mm square wears big. Cartier brought out Santos medium and large, Hermes should do the same. A 35mm or 36mm please, with pin buckle and i would buy it. The rest is very good.
This is only the beginning ... The H08 will be declined quite a bit... Just wait! 😉
@@WatchAdvisor Thanks for your comment, good to hear. I hope they don't put in a worse movement or quartz. Some downgrade on the specs as well as size, please not here. Just like now, only smaller and i would buy. Think they nailed it with the design, same with the date. Just fantastic that the date has the same number typography as the number indices.
@@WatchAdvisor I hope you’re right and that they do release a smaller version in the not too distant future. This quote from Hermès’ watch division CEO makes me think otherwise unfortunately: “and, said Mr. Delhotal, no plan to create a smaller version.” www.nytimes.com/2021/04/06/fashion/watches-hermes-laurent-dordet.html
Very enjoyable review! I’ve ordered one online and look forward to receiving it. I quite like the modern, industrial style of the H08. At first glance, it does remind me of the Patek Philippe Nautilus with its brushed, squared surface and thin case, but the H08 has that little pop of orange color plus the Hermès name that is wonderful, especially if you are a fan of the brand. I wanted to mention that the raised, repetitive H design on the underside of the rubber bracelet likely serves a purpose, allowing airflow between the bracelet and your skin for greater comfort and ease of wear. Higher end watchmakers now do this routinely with their offerings that feature the rubber strap. Thank you so much for this detailed review!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, enlightening us and passion with us! Congratulations and bravo, the H8 is a good choice! Which one exactly did you order?
@@WatchAdvisor There was only one available on the Hermès website, and it was the basic model in titanium with the black rubber bracelet. I think I may have bought the last one because the watch is no longer available. It appears to be a hot watch for which demand exceeds supply, a sure sign of successful design and execution for Hermès.
Demand actually exceeds supply for the H08 … this is what was told too … Well the “basic” in titanium with black rubber strap anyhow is one of the coolest to have, so IMHO your “choice” was a good one… May your H08 always show you happy seconds, minutes and hours!
Nice unexpected release. Will want to see it in person.
Go! Go! You will VERY much like that watch... "Protect" your wallet/credit card;-)
@@WatchAdvisor I would have but sadly the local boutique in Short Hills, NJ ignored my requests for an appointment and they appear to be sold out online.☹
Love the orange rubber variation.
Orange is THE color of Hermès of course ;-)
I've always felt Hermes to have a rather chic baroque design style, especially in clothing. This watch is very different in its rather simple appearance..
You will have to try it on your wrist to immediately start loving it... Please keep us posted and let me know if you have any questions...
I’m quite late to the party but I love this watch! I went to the boutique today to try it out and I was told it’s on back-order for about 1 year (the store’s location is HK).
Wow 😮 I did not know about such delays… So did you like one particularly?
@@WatchAdvisor Yes, I put down a deposit for the titanium case with black rubber strap.
Good choice! Still, the waiting time of one year is a bit absurd… I keep my fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Nice, especially the full titanium. It certainly leaves me with some perplexity. I won't dispute the intrinsic value of the watch (which, moreover, is really beautiful), but the price range puts it in a rather tough market sector. Certainly my own interpretation, but I see it as a "boutique whim" rather than a purchase dictated by a genuine enthusiasm for watchmaking. In any case, congratulations on a beautiful and comprehensive presentation!
The price is absolutely ok! Just try to realise what you get... cool design, top notch In-house calibre, titanium/graphen case 100 meter waterproof, innovative folding clasp, ... , ... plus it is an Hermès ... There are wannabe luxury brands that just charge the price of an H08 as a surplus for their name ...
@@WatchAdvisor True, the "wannabe luxury competitors" is a good point. At least the brand Hermes has a solid reputation. Also, the new movement can be a start for a new line of watches. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing. I purchased the orange strap today.
I wish Apple had these rubber bands for their Hermès watches.
Hahaha 😝
Hermes sells Apple Watch bands
That is a bombardment with nice content Alexander! Thanks
I really like the H08! Hermès must be seen as areal watchmaker and creator of beautiful watches...
@@WatchAdvisor I agree, they come up with great concepts, designs and even movements. I love the “Le temps suspendu” myself.
Nice watch, chapeau to Hermes! It has a distinctive style vocabulary with strong technical features. Two main concerns: a) no small adjustments on titanium bracelet is a huge miss, b) does this movement have any certification for its accuracy? At this price point you need to justify how it works well, Hermes logo it is not enough. Last personal comment: as option, considering the heritage of the brand on leather materials, you have to offer a leather bracelet: there is an Hermes version for the iwatch and you do not offer it on your “truly” one? It is a nonsense for me. Congrats for your review, I appreciate the opportunity to see such a nice novelty so professionally reviewed, well done Alexander!
Is tht undone or seven friday watch limitrd edition 🤭...
NO! You didn't understand the H08! Please watch the video again and/or for the first time...
Nice watches love the new design I think the metal strap for me
That's the only one I didn't really like... BUT tastes are different of course...
Interesting release from Hermes! At the beginning when I saw though was a B&R one. Ty for the full review Alexander.
Nothing against Bell & Ross, but the Hermès H08 plays in another league...
@@WatchAdvisor I saw it no more a fashion brand. He have a serious watchmaker with nice pieces. 👌🏻
This is a really cool watch I'd get one myself but I'm thinking for my wife she has metal allergies, I know it's big but id consider this unisex and most other titanium watches are just manny and platinum is just out my budget
You two should try the H08 on your wrists … Do this in different light conditions and the let your heart decide it won’t lie. Please keep us posted!
Definitely some Marc Newson vibes...
I agree... thought the same...
A stunning design. Alas, the movement will as we all know have designed-in flaws that will require frequent and expensive returns to the mothership for repair. I suppose it looks better than a washing machine though, which is nice,
“Designed-in flawas” … “as we all know” and so “…” on.
?????? What? Can you please specify?
Thank you WatchAdvisor as your video made me purchase the W049433WW00 (all black - the cool one) + WAY better in person! Still on the fence about the size (prefer just a bit bigger) but it does covers almost the same real estate as a 44mm Apple Watch as I compared both. The date is small so that can be improved. Love the black rubber strap as that really makes the watch "pop" IMHO. Usually I'm a Rolex fan but I wanted to change it up and feel that this selection is solid. Will be looking for some additional color straps and maybe some future selections will be available. Current Rolex lineup + plus my new pick up!
Hermes H08 watch, W049433WW00
Rolex Submariner Date - 116610
Thanks for sharing! Congratulations!!! Bravo!!! Where did you buy the H08? May it always show you HAPPY seconds, minutes and hours...
Thank you for the presentation. Hermes is really making an effort to explore watch design language and has demonstrated with this and some of their other releases in the last few years. And these have been very good, and unique. I would consider the graphene version although I have a JLC that fills that niche in my collection.
Go and try when you can, you will like it... Protect your wallet/credit card 😉
I like the tititnium version with the orange strap. Looks likensomehtigni would actually wear. Like to see it on the wrist though and purchase will be determined on the price . Great review
the prices are mentioned in the video and in the description of it... let me know if you have questions...
Excellent and thorough review. I like odd case shapes, so this watch really appeals. I love the 100m water resistance and especially the strap micro adjustment and I like the design and movement. The black coated version would be my choice, but with the blue textile strap.
Thanks for your feedback about the H08! But please do me a favour and refrain from posting political statements/comments. It is 100% about watches here ...
What’s your wrist size, sir? Thank you
17 cm
This is when the Newbie kicks some serious ass! I love it when buildquality meets design. Very good
Wonderful comment! Hermès deserves it! Thanks for sharing!
Hermes is great! The "Time flies to the Moon" watch was so innovative! These models look so different to the rest of the watch brands
Hermès manufactures unique timepieces and has a high manufacturing depth ...
A "sports inspired all terrain multi vital watch". Does this mean its a field watch? lol.
It simply means that this is a contemporary, very cool watch!
Prices went up quite a lot since 2021 ! I am hesitating between the DLC coated or the classic all titanium. I feel classic full titanium may be more versatile but not sure
I’d also go for the titanium one… More combinations with straps are possible… so it is more versatile… just my two cents… please keep us posted…
@@WatchAdvisor Thanks ! Congrats for your video, it's a reference on this model. I'll keep you posted
Looking forward…
you didn't show if it's a screw down crown or not. I really want to be able to go surfing with.
It has a screw down crown I mentioned it in the video... the case is 100 meter waterproof... you can surf with it...
6000$ for this watch.... At that price level I would probably get Rolex or Omega or Tudor. Its a nice design though.
Already the fact that you compare the H08 to Rolex and Omega says a lot ... The price positioning is absolutely correct! Just try to realise what you get... cool & good design, top notch In-house calibre, titanium/graphen case 100 meter waterproof, innovative folding clasp, the quality of straps 6 bracelet, ... plus it is an Hermès ... There are wannabe luxury brands that just charge the price of an H08 as a surplus for their name ...
@@WatchAdvisor Good point!!
If Hermes get their packaging sorted I think this would be far more popular. They need to sell all strap options separately, and at the correct length THEN actually sell it in watch shops (what a novel idea!)
I was a person who complained about the strap length, but I just bought a watch yesterday. The strap now fits even my tiny wife not that she’s going to ever wear it, I like this watch more than I thought. Kudos to Hermes bringing their high style to the watch world And husbands of wives who bring us to their boutiques.
Yes, and not attitudes from the sale representatives, lol
I agree with your point about selling them in watch shops. It makes them easier to access, increases visibility and allows buyers to build a purchasing history with a watch retailer. But, I’ve read Hermes likes to highly control their sales and retail network so they’ll only sell Hermes products in Hermes shops.

Better than -4/+6 seconds a day... the latter is what COSC requires and these Vaucher calibres perform better than this...

Je suis ravi de lire ça…
It will look good only on a bodybuilder hand
Why??
@@WatchAdvisor looks massive
I'm not a bodybuilder and I'm still on the fence that it's too small for me.
Not true. Try it on 6.75 inches = fits beautifully. My son 6.25 and fits him also, rubber strap was too long. I got a rubber strap Daytona and they provided different lengths for us = my wife wears all the time. I am hoping we can get a shorter orange strap…. Anyone know?
☺️☺️ nice
Yep! Which one is your favorite?

@@WatchAdvisor Thank you! We finally committed to buying the watch after watching your in depth review. It's important to make the watch world realize Hermes as a new player in the room.
Absolutely! So true!
Can the strap be changed ?
I am about to purchase the orange strap and asked the Hermes boutique if I could also purchase other straps to change it up. They will find out, do you know if the titanium bracelet can go on the rubber strap?
I'm almost ready to pull the trigger but strongly hesitate between the DLC coated or only brushed Titanium. I find the second more versatile in terms of strap change possibilities (if they sell them separately). Being unable to go in stores to try it out because of COVID could you share more thoughts on these two color variants and anything that could help in decision making ? Thanks for the content.
the two color variant positions the watch to be worn with black or grey straps... the brushed one leaves nearly all possibilities open ... I'd go for that one and wear it either with blue or orange + of course black or grey are possible ... this is the more versatile version ...
go titanium bracelet and buy extra strap
Wonderful movement but case design needs improvement
Why? What would you change?
Nice watch.

why the hate for sellita movements? can someone quantify why this Hermes movement is better than say an ETA powermatic 80 movement with freesprung balance, 80 hour power reserve and silicon hairspring?

toyotas are great too and reliable. but they are generic.
@@WatchAdvisor please see this article by SJX watches which shows ETA 2824 outperforming RM, Vaucher and Rolex movements in terms of performance.
Sellita movements are garbage.ETA is a much better reliable movement. .
Nice try Hermes.... But no thanks. A luxury brand trying to jump on the luxury watch bandwagon....next there will be an LV watch. Looks like a SevenFriday and since when has owning 25% of a third party company meant you can then call it an in-house movement? They're not offering a leather strap because it would undermine their 'luxury leather goods'
How much? Lol.... More than an Omega Seamaster, or Rolex OP
They are not jumping on anything... Hermès is the definition of luxury ... nothing, no brand compares to Hermès ... Hermès is a real watchmaker, makes its own cases, dials and straps...by the way... LV also sells watches and they are miles away from what Hermès has yet achieved in watchmaking...
@@WatchAdvisor I agree with you they're a luxury brand... But not in watch making... In my opinion. But it's only my opinion. Appreciate your content and sharing this with us. But feel the price does not match the watch... But appreciate their efforts.
Well, it's not Bulgari, that's for sure. Surely, there's a lot of good here, titanium construction is 'outside the norm' forward thinking maybe (and what Bulgari does), the clasp looks really good and well engineered, screw-down crown, that's good, bracelet and strap both available, in-house (sort of) movement.
But... it's also lacking in some areas, IMO. We can be benevolent here and say, 'It's a decent first attempt. Yet, there are still aspects that feel disjointed, rudimentary, and they can fix those in the future.'
Elaborating:
- Good design, very 'Apple watch but without the cheap'. But I feel it's missing the final level of detail somewhere, e.g. interesting high-polish chamfers 'hiding' somewhere. And, offering the case in various finishings (while good in itself) doesn't fix this initial flaw.
- The numerals: If you have to give me a lengthy explanation why the numerals are like that, you're trying too hard and the design has failed to explain itself. And also, very matte, no interesting polishing on the numerals. They look good in the dark though.
- The dial: It brings good ideas to the table. Would have to see how the flat, diffusing, basic (only choice) slate background looks in person though.
- Why is a rubber strap stamped 'Bracelet'? Also, while the straps look nice, the colour choices don't look any different from any Panerai I can buy any day of the week. The orange especially; maybe that's your signature color, but it's also everyone else's.
- The handset looks nice. Perhaps I would go back and study the length of each hand once more, there might be some more cohesiveness one can squeeze out, but not sure.
- Date window: It is small. Even a half a millimeter bigger would probably work out well for a lot of customers.
- Bracelet looks great. Yet, I proclaim: 'Butterfly clasps on a bracelet are for cowards who cannot commit to a proper folding clasps.' Also, arguably the bracelet still needs to try harder for the step up in price; where is its brand new, exclusive engineering feat? Are we just throwing a Patek Nautilus bracelet on and then call it a day?
- Pricing: Asking Panerai prices without any of the pedigree (in watches only) and variety of Panerai is a bold move. (Panerai also does the carbon-polymer-ceramic special blends for cases, at very very similar prices (but on more models), did you notice?)
Lastly, presentation: It's certainly not badly done, it's long but I guess you wanted it that way. But, if you can't do the presentation in proper English that doesn't hurt the aesthetical sense of native speakers, better let someone else do it.
Edit: Would I buy one personally? No, I would strongly prefer the Bulgari Octo Finissimo (which by now comes in so, so many interesting versions), you get my point, the Octo has cohesive, sharp, confident design, no 'maybe's' or 'try-to-see-it-this-way's'.
Yet, even the palest of the Octos, is still a fairly loud watch, so maybe someone prefers this for being even milder.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! A quite interesting read until you tried to compare apples and pears... My conclusion ... things that can't be compared shouldn't be compared ...
The Octo is beautiful on the wrist. I bought an Octo Finissimo. BUT...it has gone back to the maker because when it arrived it was losing four seconds an hour. And then it just stopped...sorry, great design, poor QC. I quite fancy one of these...
I love your presentation. Also, your English is excellent. The foreign accent, love it. I think some people have no idea how hard it is to make quality content like this. It takes two seconds to leave an obnoxious comment like this, it took you hours to arrange for those watches, digest them, and present them. You my friend are doing a fantastic job and there are many people (like me) who hardly ever leave comments who really love it.
Like other people mention above, I could not believe this was 40 minutes plus, felt like about 10 minutes. So thorough. Also, I’m going to buy one of these because of your review.
Never was interested in Paneri, nothing against them, but they’re doing something completely different here. This wears so much smaller. My two cents.
Also, I the above commentor also spent time writing his thoughts and I do respect that, so I apologize if I too was obnoxious.
Anyway, great that people love watches. And watch reviews!
The numerals are in fact polished and they all reflect light with the hands in an utterly beautiful way. I understand your opinions but you have to hold one for yourself if you haven’t already. And the font is so cool with the date wheel font matching it.
lets be real, regardless of their investments, it´s still a lot of money for an unspectacular watch from a fashion company...
Hermès is not a "fashion company" ... Hermès is the KING of luxury ... unparalleled under all aspects ...
It is someone else's movement. Why lie?
It is an Hermès Calibre! It is explained in the video. Please watch the video and please do not write such meaningless comments.
The movement is by made Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier that is now partially owned by Hermès hence why they refer to it as an in house movement
Case shape looks like that of a Cartier Santos
So what? I don’t get the point… Can you specify?
Looks like a Santos but the titanium bezel is less of a scratch magnet and you won’t see a million people wearing this fresh design (as you do with the Santos). 😊
