I just ordered one at the Hermes boutique in singapore. Paid 50% deposit, 1year waitlist to delivery. Ordered the base silver on silver titanium model, which seems to be the rarest of the bunch. ( I am not into DLC two tone or colourful models) Managed to try on a piece at the boutique and fell in love. It has a uniquely interesting dial, numerals and hands. Surprisingly at 39mm it wears larger than my 42mm 3861 speedy and Patek aquanaut 5167.
Your video was very insightful for me. Now I know I definitely should add this gem to my collection, specially because if the decent inhouse movement and obviously for its astonishing and gorgeous design.
Will try it first as I heard your comment loud and clear. “it won’t fit a lot of wrists”. For how much you sell the satin brushed titanium that comes with the titanium bracelet?
I just tried this watch on; all of my instincts were spot on. I’m getting really good. I was then dumbfounded you did a review on this watch and thought the same things I did. I have to seriously contemplate grabbing this piece. I mean, are you kidding me! For $5700, you can do far, far worse!!
Another great video would've never otherwise considered acquiring a watch from Hermes. I wanted to suggest a watch that you may have not seen before, it's called the A. Lange & Söhne Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar "Terraluna". It's got a beautiful dial but the party trick is an ingenious corporation of moon phases in the case back.
Hi Rio, I still like A. Lange & Söhne watches, but my adore for the brand has diminished somewhat after the Richemont purchase. Hey Bill. What are your thoughts on the Carre H watch from Hermes? Similar to this but the watch is even more squared. Designed by a famous french Arquitect. Same movement as this H08. Cheers
Hi Andres. The Carré H re-introduced with the H1912 movement looks to be a nice watch. The movement by Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier may or may not be one of the VMF models like the H1950 is the Vaucher VMF 5401( H,M,S6H). The French designer Marc Berthier is the one you're referring to I believe. Take care, Bill
As with the Slim d'... a super watch. I'd say the most creative and original from this year's underwhelming W&W? Obviously no Platine VC chrono or JLC reverso Hybris, but some very sophisticated design here. And a great movement. At a fair price. Hermes deserve some real success here. I very much like the strategy and concept too: a watch that is sporty, smart, understated, cool, versatile. Who'd have though?! I think it also shows up the big manufacturers who so often 'dial it in' (new size here, new colour there, unmatched date wheels etc...). Hermes have a great history in watch design (very early C20th) and manufacture (1978) and are committed to watch making (Vaucher). Importantly they remain an independent company, having seen off a recent takeover attempt from LVMH. This gives them great creative freedom - lets hope we get more from them.
Right now James, I just hope their factory can produce more H08s because they're sold out of all but the version with the metal bracelet. Take care and be safe, Bill😷
Somehow this watch really speaks to me, so I very much appreciate your video. As you mentioned, the fonts are cool and interesting. I also like the seconds hand design and the quasi sector dial. Having a Vaucher movement is another plus. I don’t own a single item of any kind from a luxury goods maison, so the fact that it’s an Hermes is if anything a slight negative, but I’m trying not to hold that against the watch. If I ever end up getting one, I’ll report back. Btw, WatchAdvisor did a three part series on the manufacturing details of another Hermes watch and wow, they are really made from scratch.
Hi Ced, there are certain 'luxury' good brand like Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Hermès that watch collectors distrust. However, it looks like the H08 sold out except for the metal band model; so, it looks like they hit the sweet spot. Take care and be safe, Bill😷

It's hard to tell where Cartier is anymore, and Bvlgari squandered its association with Daniel Roth and Gerald Genta-a wiser association would have resulted in some DR movements for Bvlgari and more GG designs; but your are right, Cartier is getting movements from ValFleurier (rather than ETA or Sellita .... more recently the latter) but Carole Forestier- Kasapi's influence seems to have waned ...
