Anyone else think that if I could get my drums that well tuned, shells that beautifully made in a room that well balanced hen it pretty much doesn’t matter what mics I use.
You're right, I also think that to an extent, better microphones become worse if they get "too good" at being mics, because they'd be better at giving you the exact sound your drums have, but if you have a rubbish kit you might not want that
I've just bought a set of these. The Toms/Snares mics are also great for voice and acoustic guitars. They render those natural tones with great fidelity.
Honestly, you should be mixing your drum videos from player perspective so it feels more like we are playing, and we might be more apt to "take ownership" in our minds. 😮
it is always irritating when the panorama of the mix is from the audience view and not from the drummers pov.........espacially when you have the camera look from above......
May not be tight enough, rebound is based on how tight the head is. The looser, the less rebound. It may affect the tone of ur drum by tightening the head
that test didn't show the "BLEED" from snare into Tom Mics , which is what I'm having an issue with...DANG $%&$%^ I was looking forward to seeing how much snare they picked up in the tom mics..
is it just me or does everybody’s review show the kick having like no volume bro lol maybe it’s me just wanting a slightly punchier more meaning kick. i love the dead sound but you literally cannot hear that shxt lol
Hopefully, more producers will learn to pan these drums correctly in the future. Picture show right hand side, sound is in the left channel. I mean... x_x
I just bought a set from Sweetwater. PreSonus says register them with the serial number, which is not provided, or a product key, which is also not provided. I haven't tried the mics out yet but whatever warranty they might have I can't use because I was not provided a serial number with them. Those little things can hurt business over time.
Hey, Tim! We'd be glad to look into identifying that info for you. Please contact us direct at (800) 222-4700, sales@sweetwater.com, or www.sweetwater.com/about/contact Thanks for the message!
You have everything switched wrong direction you have everything going from right to left when you're drumming from left to right and I just now checked my headphones to make sure they are on the correct way and yes I have them on correctly so mean you're drumming from the left Tom all the way to the right time it is actually going from the right to the left so it's going in the opposite direction of your drumming so basically you're what I'm saying is that your stereo left and right channels are reversed in this video
You can buy the same set up from monoprice for less than half of the Presonus branded kit. Breifcase and all. I wouldn’t be surprised if they both use the same OEM.

hey @sweetwater is there EQ or processing on this recording or is everything RAW?

pretty much.
The drummer is an important part of that equation as well, but yeah your larger point is correct

I really like the clarity of the overheads!
Considering how affordable these are, these seem like a good entry point for drummers who want to start close-micing their kits
Same price point as the CAD mics probably same quality

....here we go!........btw, extrem accurate tuning sir !!

Floor tom is too low; my subwoofer is like: 🤔😒
Thank you man. Yes, an excellent product. My summer drummer, I wish I had a drum kit
Those Drums sound so good it made my Phone sound Good !! That almost Never Happens 🥁🎶🎶
That’s some phone m8 😛
Nick! Words can't describe how envious I am of your snare ghost notes! God like👍 i can never get a good bounce back from my snare head? 🤔
May not be tight enough, rebound is based on how tight the head is. The looser, the less rebound. It may affect the tone of ur drum by tightening the head
Love it, thanks, Nick!
didn't bring. the kick mic that day
Hey nick! Can you do the same review on shure pga drumkit 7.. thanks! This presonus sounds killer
Guys,
Help me out. Should i get this to last me a decade or a lifetime or should i save up a little more to get the Shure dmk57 drum pack? 🤔
I didn't know Jon Lovitz worked at Sweetwater.

black salt audio silencer, will change your life if your trying to get rid of bleed on drums
I got these mics and i cannot get a good drum tone. Does anyone know where i can find/purchase some logic presets for these mics?
It all starts with the source. Get the drums right in the room first, then make sure you’re not micing them too close. Then process from there.
They sound pretty good! Just wasn’t a fan of the kick, unless that was bad audio work on y’all’s end, cause every other mic sounded great.
It sounds good on speakers
Can you recommend an amp or pre-amp for these to plug into? (I'm a novice)
If you're just starting out, the Behringer UMC 1820 is a very good entry-level interface. Been using it for 5 years with no issues.
@@Hellion421 I'll check it out, thanks very much
@@Hellion421 how do I use it
Dang that boy can play!
nice setting love it

Drums are panned audience perspective which is weird because it is filmed drummer perspective.?
Hopefully, more producers will learn to pan these drums correctly in the future. Picture show right hand side, sound is in the left channel. I mean... x_x
Could you Test the lewitt Beat pro pack?
They won’t they only show brands that they sell
...I just got a call and a text from a rep 5 mins after my first order...
More cow bell 😛

I can just see the windscreens flying off when the drummer hits the mic with the stick. Ask me how I know. Great deal otherwise.

The kick mic is not near anything good for a kick mic. It doesn't have any subs at all. But the other mic's sound beautiful tho'

looks like they came out of the ISK factory
Surprised how cheap they are...
flat sounding mics
