- This is the DEX fighter Steam workshop blueprint for Space Engineers. A small atmospheric fighter that has both well balanced with thrusters and very speedy. Its got gatling guns, rocket launchers, a camera, parachutes and more! I go over its looks and features then give it a fly around a race track.

Can you tell us what the artificial mass does? Or what its used for? I Looked up the wiki page and it just seems to make things heavier?
@@MagicCrabbie the artificial mass is used to make a ship react to an *ARTIFICIAL* Gravity field, thus allowing you to catapult the fighter on a planet without having to enter it

Trying to learn ship building so I can build a big ass turtle space station. My brain already aches at the idea lol

Hey Jack, replace the large thrusters with clusters of nine small thrusters. There should also be enough room to add a couple more left and right thrusters. On small grids, small atmospheric thrusters offer more thrust per block than large thrusters. Large thrusters are more energy efficient, though. The result should be a much faster ship with more upward acceleration as well. If you fly the ship more like a helicopter than a jet, you can use the downward thrusters in banked turns where your ship doesn't slide. Run another video of this ship and compare the design change.

I believe the artificial mass block might be used to launch the ship out of a larger mothership or a hangar hidden in hills using artificial gravity generators to get one up to speed in case of an emergency and such.
Artificial gravity doesn't work on planets. Ship launcher makes sense though depending on placement.

Those working wing and helicopter blade mods look fun. I think left and right movement speed is most important since we are moving sideways and aiming at target

I think the block count showing up from the workshop is incorrect. I find it hard to believe that ship is actually 1474 blocks. You may want to check in the HUD as I've seen other ships with inaccurate counts.

The artificial mass is to accelerate fastly from a ship through gravity generator catapults. Thats my guess at least

Hey,
Block Count may be wrong bc of the Projector. As soon as a projection is active when you create the Blueprint it counts the Blocks of the actual Grid and adds the blocks of the projetions to it.
The Info Tab in the menu is more precise. Dont think this cool ship is 1,5k blocks

The front camera is too vulnerable.
This ship is not meant for heavy damage tanking, it's more like the hit and run kind of ship

@@AntoTabey yes, one with massive armor and turrets, and another with guided missiles and decoys! :D
the number of block in f10 menu is always false, look into the info panel of the ship for the exact number
