Today we are taking a look at one of the most fun VR shooters I ever played. Ghosts of Tabor takes huge inspirations from Escape from Tarkov, and brings the idea of looter extraction shooter to VR. its still in very early state of development, but it already shows an immense amount of promise. Enjoy the review ;)

As someone who owns a VR headset my biggest intrest in a VR game is how well the physics are. When it comes to shooters/ action titles I feel that good enemy hit reactions and ragdolls are incredible important for my immersion (Boneworks and Blade & Sorcery are good examples)

Don't have a VR, but it's not like I don't want to get one, it's just the matter of price and space to actually use one. But... I do believe we need more companies out there that produce their own VR Sets, show a new line-up of VR Devices and so on. More variety would be nice.

For me to buy a VR headset i need more games that are not
    1. a VR techdemo
2.a game that plays better without VR
3.a game that you can only play on one headset brand

What does 3 even mean, do you mean exclusive games so get an psvr 2 or do you mean less of pain setting up vr then get a quest 2 for 150 bucks used.

I mean, I tried Oculus Quest for once, for those who don't know, it's pretty much a VR with mobile hardware which can launch titles without the need of pc. I actually wanted to buy that and I will, whenever I'll get my shit sorted in life. So I think the move of making a standalone VR helmet was the thing that made me think that VR could be possible for me.

The one point where VR can be played without me bumping my testicle on the corner of the table every 2 minutes in order to use a >300€ console that doesn't even work on its own is when I will buy VR.
Either that or when my friends IRL get it too. I'm not picky.

As a buyer of 2 index headsets, VR keeps bringing me back. My favorite thing about VR is weapon manipulation. My favorite VR game has to be Hotdogs, Horseshoes, and Hand Grenades. Its so much fun to play, even only in singleplayer. I wish most games held themselves to such a high standard.
Regardless, Tabor is extremely fun. It’s easily one of the best VR multiplayer shooter games by far. The gunplay and movement feels LEAGUES better than a game like Pavlov.
I’m hella excited for mag palming. Only thing I hope they add is the ability to sprint with your rifle pointed up in the air, akin to a COD tac sprint type position. I personally like high ready more than low ready, so that’s just my opinion. Regardless, Im very excited to see where the game goes!

VR would need to have a better bar for entry- not necessarily lower number, but higher quality products at the bottom. As it is, everyone I know with entry level VR has all sorts of problems, or it broke, or it's been sent back for warranty.

as someone whos put hours and hours into vr games, you really don't know how fun vr can be until you play a game that was built around vr, i've talked to a ton of people that think vr sucks because all they've tried is phone vr, but once you give them some controllers and blade and sorcery if they're not dealing with motion sickness they're sold

1:36 I have a Valve Index and I'm practically a VR fanatic, but as someone who cares about my hobbies and isn't complacent with just "it's good enough for me thus does not need improvement", I'm gonna answer B anyway, with "I would like to see someone create a Deus Ex style immersive sim for VR please". The closest we even have MECHANICALLY to that is The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners. In my head I'm imagining something with Blade & Sorcery's combat system but the tone and atmosphere of Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, with some actual dialogue trees and Fallout New Vegas style factions and stuff. Wish I could play a game like that. Ironically, one of my favorite things to do in VR is play the GZdoom VR port.

I've had my hands on a VR for the past Week, as me and my roommate got one and we're sharing it at this point essentially.
So far i've mainly played Half-Life: Alyx, which i was very excited about for years (it did NOT dissapoint), Blade & Sorcery which i was also very interested in and a Survival Horror Game called "Propagation: Paradise Hotel" which is essentially an attempt at recreating old-school Resident Evil in a VR-Stting, though it was only around 5 hours long. I'm very happy with the VR and i have loads of fun with it. Next i was looking at Into the Radius and also Ghosts of Tabor.

I own a headset and play this game. So first off the NPCs CAN one shot you every now and then. I've had it happen a few times but it seems like the right level of difficulty as they always have a chance to land a lucky shot. Also, I agree that player footsteps are a bit quiet. I think that they could fix this by making them louder but also having the speed at which you move when you want to be silent increased a bit as at the moment silent movement is just slightly too slow to make it possible to be sneaky or push someone you know is reloading silently.

Either way, I know it's going to take off as a must buy, and I'm so glad I'll be able to enjoy the game at its fullest with all the dlc

honestly as someone who owns a VR headset, VR is still in its baby era. 90% of games on the quest are just proof of concept games that aren't actually that good, and the only reason these games are good is because they're in VR. more games that are genuinely good need to be published in VR.

as an epic gamer, i own like three different VR headsets. and for me, the PSVR2 headset is what is true innovation in VR titles. the big thing about VR is immersion, and so for the headset to have haptics inside its own controllers and headset, regardless of the game you can be very immersed. you can feel recoil, being hit, and touching certain surfaces. if ghosts of tabor comes to PSVR2 i will piss my pants because it's a fun looking game but i just get very bored trying to play it in my linked quest 2 that breaks every 5 minutes

Headset and game prices are way too high for what they're worth.
All current forms of VR are full of unintuitive jank that massively hurt and hold back the user experience.
VR is generally not good for your personal health.
It all feels like VR is still a gimmick and consumer technology isn't advanced enough for a good VR experience but maybe it will be in the near-ish future, at that point I'll be willing to buy into VR.

I'll buy a VR kit when something as good as the valve index is half the price and the pc I am using won't cost me the same as the VR kit to upgrade for it to work well.

Never played? I'd never be able to play it since I don't have VR set to begin with, lmaooo
Also, I'd get VR set if the contents are actually worth it instead of mere gimmick. Also the price, can't forget about those.
