Thanks to the CRG Factory Team, we got some great onboard footage from the super fast Max Verstappen who was present together with Felice Tiene and Jordon Lennox-Lamb at the second Rotax EuroChallenge in Castelletto 7 Laghi in Italy.
The clip is taken the from the free practice sessions before the race.
Throughout the race Max drove superbly and led at several points and finally got a well deserved second position in the final.
Enjoy some amazing driving onboard!

No
Just 3 years later he won his first F1 race, crazy
bro, he sat in one of them a year later on a fucking suzuka
Only he had the best car, he is nothing special.
@@tuprakshakir2083 Only RedBull wasnt the best at the time, and he was 18
@@tuprakshakir2083 WHAT?! haha. 2016 Mercedes was the best. He only was able to win because HAM and ROS killed each other lap one. And even then the Ferrari should have won but max did his magic.
So precise and consistent after he takes the lead.
It's like watching one lap on replay
Its not even a race
@@user-mr1zb1ix7b So? What's that got to do with his consistency?
Embarrassing
It’s not a race just a practice session
@@davefred it has something to do with him 'taking the lead" tho
Once he took the lead he went a second quicker each lap that passes. 42, 41, 40, 39, 38. Always competing each lap. Awesome. No one beats this man.
He obviously, as always, have the best car, he is NOTHING without the best car.
@@tuprakshakir2083 those are BOP carts, they all are the same LOL
Kinda insane that he went from karting to his first FP1 session in less then a year.

it's incredible, the trade is certainly learnt in Karts. Kimi also only had a short time in cars before F1
Master talent
The way he’s just so much faster than everyone else is just insane😱😱😱
Because he has the best car! Max is simply AVERAGE without the best car. Give Stroll or Latifi his same cars and they would be world champions. Hamilton had the best car only in 2020, in all his career he had TO WORK A LOT for it.
@@tuprakshakir2083 Average Hamilton fan, the mercedes from 2014 to 2020 was without a doubt the best car, And these karts are all the same, you can tune them, but that doesnt make you the best driver from the get go
@@tuprakshakir2083
Mimimimi.
But Hamilton……
Mimimimi
"haha, yes, kart was amazing today"
Lovely that
People seem to think that "he just has a faster kart." While tuning and equipment does indeed improve performance, it doesn't win you races, let alone international ones like this. Every driver at a race like this has tremendous funding and very knowledgeable mechanics who can tune the shit out of the karts. What you see here is pure driving skill (remember this is rotax, where every engine is the same and the single speed gear box makes driver skill even more vital to differentiate yourself). I believe the way he is able to obliterate the competition in this video is that he has perfected his braking technique so well that he is able to corner at the right speed while keeping the engine rpm's in the power band to allow for maximum acceleration out of corners. If you watch other really good drivers, you can just hear it when they brake. The engine noise stops, and then as they lift off it comes back but at a weaker sound. This is called bogging down the engine, and doing so in rotax guarantees that you will have no power/acceleration out of the corners. Few can master their braking and become so smooth that they always have power and grip. Max is one of those few.
Liam no one doubts he has talent, but having an engine that is 1 tenth faster is a huge advantage, it’s not like f1 where the difference between 1st and 10th is 1 second per lap basically... plus, when you have a father like his that spends hundreds of thousands every year for karting, when you can go practice basically everyday, crash the kart and not have to worry at all for the costs, it makes everything a lot easier... his dad decided he was going to be a driver from birth and if I was able to practice most days of the week like he did, and if I had his equipment, i would’ve also been on that level if not near to it, as would many others
Partly true, if youve driven rotax you know the engines come back just as quick as whats shown on the video. Max has just mastered braking hard, most of us brake like this > slam hard on the brakes (we know about where its gonna lock) > and we come straight off the brakes just a little (hence the kart twitches as the rear locks for a split second), Max on the otherhand, like Lando Norris and George Russell - seem to have learnt the exact amount of brake pressure required for max braking...its like their controlling pressure in the left foot down to 10s of grams...like blipping at that level is insanity. trying to brake alongside him as late as him is impossible - go straight into the run off area, he goes in hot and comes out hot - thats something thats only going to happen with a LOT of practice where driving style and setup are both optimized. Not many of us have anywhere near enough money for the track time he got.
Luigi Luciani absolutely right!
Yes, good analysis my friend!

4:40 Man that overtake is soooooooooooo GOOD 🤩
like 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix but mirrored
It’s like he’s driving on a different track surface than everyone else. Bizarre. Crazy talent.
Threw it all out as late as he could, still reached the mid apex, blocked pass, started traction really early while perfectly releasing the steer to use just the perfect amount of kerb...That's not a textbook overtake, that's something beyond it.
I am pretty sure that this young guy will be the best F1 driver one day.
Indeed, it's a promising talent
I hope so because I’ve invested in some big time 2020 Topps chrome psa & SGC graded cards of his

@@barclas4422anyways, he says he'll become the best f1 driver, he hasn't become into a legend yet. At the moment he's 2x WDC, but who knows how many more are going to come
Such an aggressive and brave approuch. This man is insanely talented. To the Max
This video does a great job of showing how max likes to takes his corners. Early apex so he can get back on the power/straighten the cart early to increase the time on throttle
Surely you mean late apex but yeah, that's pretty much how he drives and why he prefers a pointy front end in contrast to for example Seb who had an RB which had a very strong rear end.
@@nanatzaya yea, I was thinking about the best way to phrase it & your way is probably correct - he hits the inside of the road late. I was thinking more of when his line is most aggressive.
In hindsight dunno why I phrased it like that, oops
@@nanatzaya i find it hard to do consistently in sims, but it definitely is faster in a lot of corners, like stavelot at spa
Time increased on throttle isn't why, that does nothing for faster times.
Karts and cars alike will understeer on power if you have a grippy rear, or oversteer if you don't. Both of these are fixed by taking a later apex. It's nothing to do with time on throttle, but increasing the available grip to be able to use more throttle
I love the fact that Jos made the factory karts blush with his own tuning! Max pushed it to the limit. How great is that?
So young, so fast, so talented, so brave WOW!!!
i bet this guy could get into f1!
Is he ? Or is it the best car? He always made everyone think he is special, but he NEVER had to fight a bad car or have a good teammate. If Hamilton were there or if Hamilton was his teammate he would BE NOTHING

When does the race start? It says Race 2, but they never have a start, I think this is just a practice sesh.
If you read the description carefully, this is "taken the from the free practice sessions before the race" of the "second Rotax EuroChallenge in Castelletto 7 Laghi in Italy"
@@theRaceBox ok yeah, makes sense now. I see people praising the overtakes but its a practice sesh, so its hardly relevant.
I explained in several comments, he wasn't even first in that session, and most overtakes come from difference in testing programs. Others are on new tires, others are running in engines, fast drivers on different parts of the track never have enough difference to reach each other over 10 laps as well.
The video doesn't demonstrate a superiority in driving over everyone else, he didn't even win the race, he came second.
It's still just a very cool archive video of skillful driving on a kart.
