Keep in mind, a lot of this requires the drivers you’re against to be competent. Passing in indoor karting is practically impossible if you’re against idiots, they’ll just punt you into the walls.

On the tarmac of a go kart track, the coefficient friction of a rolling tyre is greater than that of a sliding tyre. Therefore, the rolling tyre will always have more traction. The more traction (grip) you have the faster you can brake, corner, and accelerate. By taking a clean racing line, you can drive into the corner faster, take it quicker, and exit it at a greater speed. So drifiting coners dont help you at all in karting. He drifted there because that's was only a one possible approach for specific overtake moments
@@JulioCezar-we9zo I think a slight drift allows the driver to flick the rear around more quickly around a tight bend. This allows the driver to come into the corner faster, keeping the rear wheels (rwd) rotating much more quickly than otherwise possible, allowing them to come out of the corner much faster too. At least, that's what I think is happening.
@@ralphr-c7156You’re in fact absolutely right, in addition to what the comment above you describes, this is how you maximise entry and exit speed without losing traction, all the while minimising the time spent on the corner. The limit is indeed almost entering the ABS zone by just oversteering enough while carrying maximum speed so you turn quicker, enter straight line earlier and all that without slipping off and that’s when you know you’ve squeezed the lemon of all its juice.
Here's something interesting, F1 should put together every year a race where all drivers has the same car. I'm sure the drivers and we all would have fun
Nope. There is no passing in Monaco. They should seriously race cars that are only 70% of the size and 50% of the power at Monaco. It has become quite boring to watch.
His approach to some of those corners the angle is so differnt its not always necessarily the shortest rsving line. Skme of them give him a mucj quicker exit setting him up for late braking on the next tuen snd putting him on the inside of next cart. Truly incredible.
This is chess or pool/snooker; seeing many moves ahead, lining it up, waiting and then contactless execution. Smooth as butter! I unironically want to watch actual go kart races with actual F1 drivers. Like, how about we replace all the Middle Eastern tracks with go kart races???
2 days ago, me and my friends went out to go kart… then as i wanted to overtake one of my friends in 4th place, he started swinging his arms in the air as a celebration and i tried to pass him from the left side near the curb his kart start squeezing my kart until in the middle of the race I had to stand up a-bit and give him a push on the head
The amount of time he bullied 25 bumping his rear bumber, I would've tried as much as I could to crash into him when he passed him on that tight 180 degree corner.
At my local indoor kart track if you do any of this they will shut you down and kick you off the track, they don’t let you bump, if you’re too fast they tell you to slow down and they somehow are able to shut the engines down from a central location. And it’s the same type of kart and track as this one. They basically just want you to go 3/4 of the speed it’s capable of and no contact no competition, really lame…
