Ha! You made me walk down the memory lane - i did some sort of U-haul with my then to be GF - starting in Chicago with a "rental" U-haul trailer -- the first one did give in after 50km with a broken axle -- the second one made it into downtown St.Louis but then decided to quit the job with a burned out brake system -- and i mean it - red glowing hot brake drums. I was angry beyond belief --- but on the other side of the street, near the gas station/dinner we ended up with the whole shebang, was a "honest Joe" used Car Dealers shop -- so i went over and told the guy sitting behind his desk my story. He did laugh his ass of.... he, himself had no U-haul trailer in stock - but he grabbed his phone - made some calls -- and - one of his colleagues did sell us an almost brand new twin axle U-haul trailer for a reasonable price - no more more rentals. It was a long trip -- Chicago to Tucson AZ -- then back to Chicago -- en route to Buffalo NY -- and then the trailer named "June" made it "with the help of a friendly" cargo ship to Germany -- and is still with us - lol - good luck for your big projects -- Greets from Germany - H.
Oh my goodness Harry! That is quite a story! And what an adventure! Well I guess as they say, it could always be worse! And what happened to you is certainly a worse situation! Thanks for watching, for your good wishes, and for quite a story! Best to you in Germany!
