I am from India and I always find such transformations so incredible. Its hard for me to imagine renovating an entire house from scratch, esp because we rely on getting labour to fix even the tiniest of things. I dont know if its because its cheaper to hire labour for piecemeal jobs or entire renovations, or that we lack knowledge, or getting all of the requisite tools without shelling out money that doesn't justify the cost, we urban indians just cannot imagine taking up such projects. Hence, its even more fascinating to see how a small family puts in their heart into a shell of a house and turns it into a home! There's so much love in this place, and it is so, so beautiful!!
same question here 😅. But I'm assuming they must be professional builders and finally they put their skills for something of their own. The man trained his wife or maybe they were in the same profession and eventually they married and the kid learnt from seeing what their parents were doing.
Atleast try to do what you can. It's fun planning how to design and decorate your own house. My hubby was always busy on his work so i'm the one who paints and puts on wallpapers. I 'DIY' some of our decors and furnitures and trust me,it's so fulfilling.

Tony, you did so much to improve and make the cottage a home...from the dormers, roof, windows, flooring and so much more. Tracey, you are amazing as well with everything you have done. Johnathan, you too have done your part as well....you have accomplished so much as a team....Well done!! It now looks like a home and am so happy for all of you!!

An Englishman's home is his castle. In this case, literally. Wonderful to bring back to life this sleeping beauty. I spent my summers in Seine Maritime, near the Foret de Lyons. Where is this? I’m getting excited just watching, man if your really into this kinda stuff when I say every thing everything means a lot to you when your restoring a abandoned home.everything is exciting an everything means so much to you.this is so beautiful.
In America, the historical society would’ve had their noses into the remodel of a beautiful historical home restoration. This transformation is amazing. All of your hard work has truly paid off. This is beautiful.
You know, in the UK, the old houses are graded according to their age and historical significance, and the restrictions are far stiffer than in America. Oh, and by the way, you have inadvertently revealed more about yourself than perhaps you realized or intended by your remark. Where were you on January 6th last year?

Maybe it's because people don't care enough to try it themselves first before calling an expert.

Europe is blessed with so many "diamonds in the rough". I wish we here in Canada had more properties like this. Those front gates will be stunning as well when their cleaned up. Great job so far on the renovation! ❤
Wow, you all deserve an award for accomplishing such a transformation in one year! Comparing the then and now pics, it's miraculous! I've loved following you from the beginning and I look forward to continuing with you on your journey.
Thank you so much 😊
what is so appealing is looking at what sweat/efforts was made, and to look at the "finished product" as you wake in the morning and go to bed after sunset, knowing fully well "we made it" and very proud of it..... just awesome !!!!! thx for sharing....
It's amazing how far you all have come! This year will be the awakening of the chateau when all of your work comes together. It's a lot but wow! You are doing it. Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Many wishes for you and the chateau that all goes well. I'm thinking that Miss Tracey works the hardest but I know that you all work very hard!
Thank you so much 😊

Hi how are you doing?
You have come a long way. Congratulations 🎉🍾🎈
An Englishman's home is his castle. In this case, literally. Wonderful to bring back to life this sleeping beauty. I spent my summers in Seine Maritime, near the Foret de Lyons. Where is this? The slate roof reminds me of my childhood. Pang of bittersweet sadness there... Childhood is another country they say. Thanks for taking me back.
The amount of work that has been done so far is astounding. All of you should be proud of what you have accomplished. All the hard work all the changes in your lives, outstanding job. Thanks for sharing your dreams and stories . Find myself watching videos over and over again. Eagerly awaiting to see what's next. Happy Everything
This is the “First Nicely Decorated” French Farmhouse that I have seen!🥰🥰🥰
Wow this video is amazing. I love seeing how much work and effort people like you put into restoring old buildings and yet preserve their original beauty. The staircase design with the old stones at the bottom was brilliant! Thank you so much for your hard work and sharing this project with us! Even your theme music as background was inspiring!
I am impressed with all your hard backbreaking work. It’s a dream come true spectacular!

In America, the historical society would’ve had their noses into the remodel of a beautiful historical home restoration. This transformation is amazing. All of your hard work has truly paid off. This is beautiful.
This is true in a lot of european countries to 🙃
Unfortunately it’s so true re the American historical society!😢
You know, in the UK, the old houses are graded according to their age and historical significance, and the restrictions are far stiffer than in America.
Oh, and by the way, you have inadvertently revealed more about yourself than perhaps you realized or intended by your remark. Where were you on January 6th last year?
@@rosemarybierbaum4627 wow, that’s truly out in left field. I’m a 62 year old grandmother. Not sure what your point is and what it has to do with restoring a beautiful historic chateau.

Exciting. Risky. Dangerous. Extraordinary. Worthy of praise and admiration. Huge satisfaction because people will actually live there and dream & cry & hope & be disappointed, and actually LIVE there . . .

I’ve been with you from the very beginning and am still amazed at the renovating you’ve done as a family.
